I thought this video was creepy until I read the description, I would imagine this could be a good learning tool for non-English speakers to learn the "TH" technique.
Oh my god PEOPLE. the person who uploaded this video is teaching how to say the TH sound. They're saying that Sarah Hyland does it correctly. Stop calling them an idiot. it's not their fault you cant READ THE DESCRIPTION.
Seriously people? I think this is a very good way how teach someone the right pronunciation. I am myself a foreign learner - I'm Czech and for us it is for example hard to pronounce the phoneme in 'cat', 'had', 'bad' and so on. So when we want to say BAD, we might end up saying BED because we don'r really see the difference. Because we don't have that sound in Czech. And the same is with phonemes in THat or mouTH. It is hard to understand for you, native speakers, so please be tollerant. Thanks.
Really? All the clips of "TH" being used out there in the world and you pick one for your students that repeats "THAT'S HOW GIRLS ENDS UP DEAD" over and over
I think the poster of this video is an English teacher in Brazil. Their Brazilian students have difficulty pronouncing the TH sounds because they don't have these sounds in Portuguese.
They posted this video to show them that native speakers of English stick their tongues out when they pronounce the TH sounds - their students have a hard time believing them when they tell them.
@CAROxx33 no I'm just saying that your joke is so specific that only about 6 people can relate to it. You think you're clever. I think you can go fuck yourself.

We do have "th" sounds in spanish, but we dont have "d" sounds, it isnt hard for me to produce them, but using them close to each other is VERY difficult for me... example... "THis is THe Day THey Die" I end up saying everything with th or d...

@miouth150@miouth150 Hi. The French are not stupid. They can't pronounce this sound because it doesn't exist in their language. They pronounce something that is similar for them. Brazilians usually pronounce this sound as F (instead of think they say fink) or D (instead of they, they say day). That's why it's important to teach the correct pronunciation. More than that, teachers have to show students how to move their mouths and tongues to produce the right sound.
@miouth150 With enough practice, everyone can learn. English speakers have problems pronouncing the "ão" sound that we use in Portuguese. This doesn't mean that they're stupid, either.
@miouth150 Do you speak or read Portuguese? I have a blog where I give tips on learning English. The blog is in Portuguese, because most of my readers are still trying tom learn English.
