  • Hendrix?!?!?!

  • @MrBuddyHolly1 . Yeah Hendrix

  • @Watermox then were is he?

  • @MrBuddyHolly1 Right at the Beginning after Bonnie Raitt.

  • @Watermox Some young people like Hendrix, but they do not recognize him. All Along the Watchtower , a Bob Dylan song, is classic and probably the best example of who Jimi was as a guitarist.

  • @Watermox no i recognize him. it's just, i guess i skipped ahead. D:

  • @MrBuddyHolly1 Hendrix will be on the final exam. Make sure you read your notes thoroughly beginning with the first page. :)

  • is that pete townsted at 1:03?

  • @alijav091 yes it is, with his red strat.

  • Strat gives you a great space to do anything, it could sound whatever.

  • Music companies seem to find it hard to accept that hearing stuff online more often than not leads to a sale - certainly I buy loads of albums after browsing and following links online.

  • @chirpybee These are short clips too. I bet the artist would not mind. Fender does not mind show casing their artists and their guitars.

  • Eric Gales, anyone?

  • Great !

Stratocaster is the guitar of all situations.

  • What's the name of the Jeff Beck tune on this video?

  • @MegaTronn Jeff Beck with the Yardbirds. Shape of Things

  • SRV is the best of all of them.

  • What? No Ritchie????????!!!!!!

He - and Rory - made the Strat THE icon in the rock world that it is

  • @LeRoiDelaRue

    Ritchie who??

  • @Watermox Ritchie Blackmore

  • @TheKeyPez . I know , I was being a bit facetious.

  • Van Halen is WANTED man:)

  • Frankenstrat?? Not a true strat. Either are Kramers

  • thankyou

  • @Watermox I like how u didn't play comfortably numb with David Gilmour :)

  • Nice Video (Stratman always)

    Regards from Serbia!!!

  • Thank you for the video! Nice to compare different Strat sounds. Good job you did.

  • Thanks. You are right....Strats ALL sound different but somewhat the same depending on who is playing it.

  • knopfler! those other is nothing compare

  • The Last Door . Robin Trower and Jack Bruce. The new Cream?

  • Watermox what song was that Trower solo from ?

  • The vid shows Pete Townshend playing a Strat to the background music of "Won't Get Fooled Again." Problem is, Pete used a Gretsch 6120 Chet Aktins to record that song. ....and virtually every other Who song in the '70s.

  • I saw Pete play in 1973 while doing the Who's Next tour. He did not play a 6120 on stage, he played an SG. Pete does perform this song nowdays on that red strat.

  • Yep, Pete thought the Gretsch a bit too fragile for stage use. But he used it for all his studio work. ...played through a '59 Fender Bandmaster.

  • This is the best comp ive seen so far Rory and Sonny werent overlooked for a change ..:) You sir know your Stratsmen !

  • Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Thanks for the comment. The song Eric played is called " The Shape your In". A little trivia here ...he wrote this for Patty Boyd whom he stole from his good pal George Harrison. He was a little upset finding her intoxicated all the time. George was probably releived that Eric was now her main man.

  • thanks for the clip, i've heard samples of artists i've never heard of before :)

ps: what's the song called that clapton plays in the clip ?

  • Bob Dylan is a Master ....Period.

  • Is Bob Dylan a master of stratocaster?

  • In July of 1965 in Newport, one of the most defining events in Rock and Roll History took place when Bob Dylan walked on stage not with his Martin, but a Stratocaster.

  • Good list. I like the songs you chose too. Of course George Harrison's solo is actually played by Eric Clapton.

  • Thanks. You are right about Clapton on the Lead. Harrison has said of the solo:

"So Eric played that, and I thought it was really good. Then we listened to it back, and he said, "Ah, there's a problem though; it's not Beatley enough." So we put it through the ADT [automatic double-track] to wobble it up a bit."

    Eric gave George that Strat
