allso the 190e wassnt built for DTM it was built for rallye. but close 2 release of the car. audi came up with quattro. thats then mercedes realized couldnt compare with the 4wd. thats why they built the 190e for DTM

Sorry, but the E30 M3 is the truly definitive touring car of the late-eighties/early-nineties. The MB 190E 2.5 is second at best. The Ford Sierra Cosworth might even be more deserving of second place.

The 190 16v cars were unveiled and released in 1983-1984 while also setting new records. BMW didn't release the E30 M3 until 1986.

The S14 powered M3 was BMW's reply to the 2.3-16. You can thank Mercedes Benz for the creation of the M3. BTW in the 1992 DTM the 2.5-16 Evo II won more races than the BMW M3 and won the championship with Klaus Ludwig.

i believe that this car was very close to the e30 m3 if not better, but im sad that bmw followed with a good replacement while mb just went down the drain in the early 90'sd and are only very recently recovered from this.
