  • Wow! You are amazing! I'm new to hooping and am loving this!

  • I'm in love....:)

  • How long you been hooping?

  • fuckin love it!

  • WOW Oo hypnotizing...

  • I have been trying forever to get the stalls down. I remember when I first picked up a hoop I did stalls without even knowing what they were and now I can't spin without the hoop moving!

  • Beautiful! How do you keep spinning without getting horribly dizzy?

  • Dizzy.

  • I was curious to know how long it took you to get this good? I'm just starting and I've improved a lot already, but I imagine it took a lot of time to get to this level.

  • That was beautiful!

  • I might be a little drunk but everything about this is fucking beautiful.

  • LOVE!

  • it looks awesome!!! but don't you get dizzy after a while?

  • it looks awesome!!! but don't you get dizzy after a while?

  • Effortless! Congrats. And this is awesome. Before i even saw your username, I was thinking "shpongled"....low and behold! xoxo

  • You said this was for a senior seminar... May I ask where you go to school, and what your major is/was? Ive been trying to find a way to go to school and incorporate my creative abilities, but have not found anything yet. thanks

  • @MsFannyFresh I graduated from the University of Vermont, and my major was Studio Art

  • @ShpongledHoops

wow, hey! were you a part of the hoop dance club? I'm planning on joining. :P

  • Hypnotizing! Amazing performance :)

  • do you have instructinal videos?

  • @kandyharrington i have one, a tutorial on the No Handed Step Thru

  • When you first started did you get lots of bruises? I've just started and I have a bruise the size of a melon... will this be a constant thing? You're amazing by the way, you are like a goddess. x

  • @SToyaholic bruises are pretty common in the beginning. after a while your body will get used to it. :) happy hooping!

  • awesome!

  • i love you =D

  • ggggggggaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh I want your style so bad I've been working on my stall technique but omg you just look so beautiful!!! what kind of hoop is it that youre using?

  • @WhateverCakes this hoop was 3/4" gauge, 100psi and about 39" in diameter. it was a little on the heavy side, i bought it from hoopnotica and then I re-taped it after all the sparkly tape got scraped off. now I use 150 psi, it's more flexible=less bruises

  • Amazing....

  • i love this you looks so cool, im very jealous :) so jealous im off to buy a hula hoop later haha xx

  • First WOW!, second, im dizzy! >.<

  • i loveee you!!!!!!!!!! im your new fan!

  • you just made this song even more seductive!

  • Holy Hoola Hoops! Simply gorgeous ;)

  • very artistic

  • love your style! you inspired me to learn sustained spinning, and now i cant hoop any other way! one question, how do you manage to spin for so long without gettin dizzy??

  • what music is this? it's amazing...

  • @HaylieNowak Artist is Younger Brother. Album is "A Flock of Beeps". Song is "Crumblenaut". If you like this music, check out a group called Shpongle, the same guy is in both bands.

  • wow...do you study yoga?

  • Amazing control and a beautiful performance! Wow!

  • Another tip for successful slow spin body isolations is to use a hoop with a pretty good sized diameter. go for a larger hoop, around 38" to 42" diameter, for slower hooping and a smaller hoop, 30" to 36" diameter, for faster more snappy trick hooping. Its good, if you can, to have a few different types of hoops to try out, heavy, light, large, small, big tubing, small tubing. Every hooper body reacts differently to different hoops, try a hoop club or gathering and ask to try out other hoops.

  • Love your style !!!

  • favorite part is from 0:55 - 1:09

  • This is a very simple question, and you may laugh . . but how do you not get sick. Or dizzy for that matter? I can hardly spin without feeling reeeally sick and extremely disoriented, and of course, then I fall over. Is there a trick or are you just used to it?

  • @AlternativeRobbie I'm basically just used to it. when i first started spinning, i used to get very dizzy/sick...but as you practice and get used to the motion your body adjusts. :)

  • Wow, I really really adore this video. Definitely my favorite style :] I've been hooping for two months and I cant seem to get the hoop from my knees to my waiste gracefully, any suggestions??

  • Really cool. Great music to go with it.

  • I love the passion and great song!

  • i've been hooping for a year now and your video really inspired me. im trying to learn your moves but can't seem to make my hoop rotations slow enough...any advise? or is it simply a matter of practice

  • for slow rotations it's all about quick foot steps, the stronger your balance and spin the more the centripetal forces can hold your hoop up so you don't have to 'pump' it to keep it up. hope that helps!

  • @MissTallulahHula shes amazing at this slow spinning isnt she! Also try looking up and practicing "stalls" this will help you to understand the flow of slower hooping <3

  • @MissTallulahHula slow rotations can also be obtained by turning in the direction you are hooping. that will slow the hoop down considerably. if you notice, in this video she is almost constantly turning.

  • the music is scary O.O

  • the music is scary O.O

i had nightmares of it +_+

  • sensational

  • adose she ever get dizzy?

  • Is it better to use a lighter or heavier hoop for this type of dancing? And thanks for the great video: you and your hooping is gorgeous! You make it look so effortless.

  • I use a lighter hoop in this one, but I'm not sure which is better :)

  • who in the right mind would give this video a thumbs down?! blasphemy!!

... you just inspired me to hoop for the next 4 hours ;) dig ittt ! .. are you strictly shpongle shakin, or can i make a request to flow some theivery corporation?

  • Amazing Grace

  • great inspiration!! i just started learning to hoop and i finally got the lift up & down thing. i want to really get into hooping so i can do things like this! any advice? i feel like i look like a camel or something when i hoop!

  • how many years have u been practicing?

when you first start, could you keep the hoop up??

  • when I made this video I had been hooping for 2 years...now it's a little over 3. When I first started I did have trouble keeping it up, but you just have to keep tryin!

  • Beautiful, Hope you do not mind if I shared with some friends on fb.

    A fan page called Hooping

  • you are so beautiful! I love your mask you use on your vidoes. so original.

  • Truly what I aspire to look like. absolutely amazing :)

  • 1:25--end is incredible, looks so liberated and free ^^ wow

  • intense! never heard of this. wish i could even hoolahoop so i could trry. its amazing

  • I can't work out whether I think this looks good or not...

  • then you dont deserve to have eyes!!

  • i get so dizzy when i spin in circles while hooping, which results in my head hurting a lot! ): how do you do manage it?

  • the more you practice spinning the more your body adjusts to the disorientness of it

  • @ShpongledHoops so just spinning? i'd love to hulahoop, but i'd love to be just that graceful at sinning. how much space you need? should i put on music and spin to it till i get coordinated? /serious.

you're beautiful, i'd love to know how to dance better :3

  • @ShpongledHoops totally agree, the mroe you practice the better you get at spinning. I find if you spot while spinning and try not to focus so much on moving objects, it helps. however, ballet growing up helped me with hoop spinning :)

  • O_O So...amazing!! What are you standing in front of? I can't tell if it is a greenscreen of sorts, or just a backdrop...or a wall?

  • I'm standing in front of a white concrete wall that I have put nails in and strung up black yarn to make the Astrix design

  • the only word i could find for that awesome performance is ...... godlike

  • INDESCRIBABLE!!!

  • Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing <3 <3 <3

  • This is absolutely gorgeous. How does she not get dizzy? LOL

    Incredible

  • ~Gorgeous~ Thank you:-)

  • Wow. You have an amazing hoop style. I've never seen anything like this!!!! All of your videos are really beautiful and really inspire me to keep practicing!

  • I need to find a girl who is into hooping..

  • D:

    thats fucking amazingg

  • My jaw dropped..... I would be so dizzy. You're amazing.

  • like in the song "wawawi yawawww" ..WAW !!

  • Bellisima!

  • SOOOO BEAUTIFUL. . . i'd be dizzy as fuck.

  • breathtaking. You are amazing

  • In absolute awe. Power. Bliss. Beauty.

  • must have been 7 girls that didn't like lol

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME! This is absolutely gorgeous! goose bumps and completely mesmerizing! I only hope to be as graceful as you are!! Very well done!!! (reminds me of Memiors of a geicha type stuff)

  • thanks! it's funny you say that, I just started reading Memoirs of a Geisha last week...quite the coincidence

  • This is so beautiful, you have such fluidity and your so wriggly! its awesome and beautiful x

  • neato. i loved your jerky yet fluid movements.... gave me some ideas.. thanks.

  • BEAUTIFUL!! I <3 YOU!

  • So cool! You seem uninhibited and joyful. The mask is a nice touch too. Rock on. :)

  • i would love to be able to do that! that and figure skating! :)

  • nice hooping :)

  • Wow, that was all absolutely mesmerising. Not only the hooping, but the poses, especially at the end when you were knee hooping. It was... I can't think of any other way to describe it, but it was extrememly feminine :P Beautiful.

  • This is simply amazing. I'm so glad I found this video. I would love to be as good and fluid as you are one day. The music choice was perfect and you are totally mesmerizing. How big and weighty is the hoop that you're using? Did you make it yourself? =) <3

  • The hoop I'm using in this video is not one that I made, though most of my other videos are with a look-alike hoop that I did make. The psi is 100 I believe and it is about 38-42 inches in diameter. It's a pretty hard plastic and it's bigger than it looks. Thanks for your compliments!

  • this is amazing.

    very surreal.

  • thanks

  • amazing, the music and the background are perfect, beatiful, by the way what is the name of the song, I would like to know

  • It's Crumblenaut by Younger Brother

  • oh man. you're fucking beautiful. ...hard to describe. With hooping it seems like you can be graceful because it looks good. Or graceful because it's what the nuance of the hoop's movement is asking for. i prefer the second and i think you got that down, PLUS an added sense for what really looks beautiful.

  • thanks brecken! That means a lot coming from you. This series of projects that I did were predominately based on what fine art is and how we define it, but it also touched base on what is beautiful vs exploitive. And how we interpret the 2

  • what weight is your hoop?

  • Dont you get dizzy?

  • yah sometimes!

  • you are real artist

  • Really dug the *flow* of this one :) Thanks lady <3

  • oh my god, this is beautiful

  • i could watch ur video's all day, that was hypnotising!! whats that song it fits so well!! xx

  • Very, Very pretty Hoop Dance and I love the music.

  • Wow, incredible. I love the way you move with the hoop, it's definitely a little trippy but that's what I like. Keep it up!

  • actually, in order to get that sort of effect, you have to spin a lot. it's called sustained hooping. :) very beautiful, but yes, lots of dizzy spinning.

  • ur good and graceful, but you turn too much, in my opinion, it makes me dizzy just watching you.

  • Wow, didn't know this was a sort of dance until I saw a girl do it in a concert I went to recently, this is really awesome.

  • Lady, I just got shivers up my spine!! I'm just starting out in hoop dance, this is so inspiring!

  • haha no shes probably not dizzy, you really get used to it after awhile

  • no friggen way! it would have been cool if she brought it back up at the end... she must be dizzy... like really dizzy after this...

  • absolutley incredible, without a doubt the best I've seen!!

  • your hooping is so trippy and crazy!!! i love your style! i haven't seen anything like it before.

  • Sure you can dance... but can you whistle?

  • Just finished watching this for the 3rd time.... this performance is simply incredible.

  • haha! I'm glad you like it so much :)

  • Beautiful and enchanting!!!

  • What is the name of the song/artist that you're hooping to?

  • Artist: Younger Brother

    Song: Crumblenaut

  • I love how you dance! I just wonder how you do the spinning? I get pretty fast dizzy.. So is there a trick to learn it?

  • if you face your head and eyes in the direction you are spinning you get less dizzy...but the best advice that I could give is to practice and don't forget to breathe :)

  • I get sooooo dizzy. Even watching you do that hehehe...I do a stall and spin maybe 3 times and feel like throwing up. My balance is rubbish too, must be connection, something about that fluid in the ears. I have to change direction often when hooping to balance it out.

  • Don't you get dizzy?

  • sometimes!

  • So pretty! Very inspirational.

  • Yeah, it seems as if she really can't mask her love of the music at all. ^.^

  • i love the sustained spinning. you can feel how in flow you are, that's what I appreciate most.

  • UH, I must go get my hoop now. :O you're amazing, INSPIRING

  • To be honest I don't even think I can describe what it is about your hooping that I am so drawn to, but its unique and your own and its absolutely amazing!

  • Oh My God. Whoa girl, this is hot! You rock the double like a master artisan. The backdrop is perfectly dramatic! I hope to see more of this. :)

  • *sigh* love the smoothness with which you drift the hoop up and down... Shoulder moves are amazing... and I feel some more "drama" on this one, I like that. Good background change, too ;) You have grown =) One more year did you good... Keep hooping! And thank you for sharing your Art with us *

  • love the sort of flying sustained spin stuff around 1.09

  • oh, wow. i loved this! great work!

  • wow! thanks :)

  • This is really inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm going to work on being fluid like oo :)

  • Mona this was awesome!!! I loved how the plane of the hoop kept shifting on your stalls at the beginning yet you maintained so much control.

And no one has mentioned this yet....but it was sexy as all hell.

  • Miss bendy Mona you are super duper and I never tire of watching you flex and twist in your unique beautiful way :-)

  • WOWZA! That was amazing! I really must work on the sustained spinning ... for you have enlightened and inspired me. Thank You!

  • so wonderful! very real and pure to me.

  • Very nice, I loved everything about this . Question: what is the name of the music? very cool

  • Song Name: Crumblenaut

    Artist: Younger Brother

  • Cool!!

    Love your style!

    ~ SaFire ~

  • you have such a unique style...you really stand out of the pack in an excellent way

  • wowza...

  • Mona, you are one of my favorite hoopers. Every time I watch one of your videos, I'm inspired to work on my shoulder work and flow. This video is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to see the other two!

  • practice makes perfect darling! :) I'll try an make a slo-mo video to help "explain" the angle...I do it (shoulder hooping) so often that I've forgotten exactly how I do it...weird how that happens...?
