the abnormal high heat and calm pattern around the northeast is called hurricane weather- its been noted before strong atlantic storms hit in the early fall/ late summer! Its a bit unsettling its appearing again as a storm moves up the coast- read about the hurricane of 1938 that hit long island ny and massachusettes etc- long island express its been called! Never underestimate a possible NE strike by a hurricane even if its weakening!

This IS NOT your typical north east hurricane; one going up fast with significant decreasing strength, this is going relatively strong and and not advancing as fast, so be even more careful. Some months ago I predicted hotter than usual summer nights, thus warmer ocean-water, rendering potential stronger hurricanes. Jet stream has been really abnormal too, Canadians for example can tell you of weird temperatures and climate anomalies.

@reddead255 im a trained storm spotter- have studied weather and climate and have been following hurricanes since the mid 1980s- actually your way off- the computer models have improved things dramatically with a usual 50 -60 mile deviation compared to 450 miles off in the 1970s- unless some incredible anomoly happens , Earl will pose no threat to NYC- maybe the tip of long island but nothing else. Its already starting to turn right as predicted and has generally followed models!
