dig the idea of the sculpture infront of that window and big mirrors are always cool in small spaces, i would have gone more extreme in terms of furniture, perhaps bunk beds or even 2 high sleepers leaving space for more functions down below. also the use of both curtains and blinds is a bit heavy, it looks good but personally i'd have stuck with just the blinds as in this case its needless bulk for a space so small. for the budget and timeframe of intended use though, great job :)

Darker colors usually make the room appear larger. Although, the way you use the furniture, materials, beds and etc. could make more available space!

@HoeBow21 Correct, Most dorm rooms DO NOT ALLOW IT. This time we lucked out. I have footage of Sharrah explaining how to hang things on the wall when you CAN"T put holes in the wall. I should make a video of that soon!

@RythemNTheRain Black would look great as well. I'm not a fan of really dark sheets because they show everything.. powder, lotion, crumbs ..lol... I usually buy white sheets and towels for most of my projects. High thread count sheets , plush towels... feels more spa like ;-) RR

But this doesn't look like a *dorm* room. It looks like a a room in a rental house maybe.

All the colleges/universities I know that have dorm rooms would kill you if you hung that much stuff up on the wall. We're only allowed to use green tape and sticky tack!

We can't drill any holes.

And all the furniture that comes with the room we have to keep in the room. Since the rooms are pretty small, there's no where to put it if we want different furniture!

@ElegantAlphabet, You are right, this is not a typical Dorm Room.. its a bedroom rented for the semester near the college. There are 5 videos related and linked to this one stating its a modified dorm room design because its in a home. Sorry, this video does not mention that fact so it can be confusing. You're right about strict rules regarding walls and furniture. Someday I'll do a more specific video on "DORM ROOMS" it just didn't fit our situation this time. RR

Rebecca, I love how the shower curtain ended up! Although, it was hard to get a good grasp on how it looked from a farther distance considering the bathroom was a bit small to work with. I'm wondering if you can give me a link or refer me to another picture of yours where you created this technique of the curtain falling from ceiling to floor! Hi Rebecca, it all came together. I love the room and the idea of using what you already have. I like your idea of placing the open dial face clock over the arch window, while still allowing the light 2 filter through. Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
