My favorite romance novels are by far historical romances, especially those set in times of the Monarchy. I especially love when the writer uses real history and adds fiction to it. I really don't know if I could pick from them all though, I enjoy many.
My favorite romances are historical and set in Scotland. I love those men in kilts, the beautiful landscapes and the history. I also love hot, sensual romances!
I love historical romances with a Scottish hero. They are rugged like the land they come from and twitipate my heart. (sigh) After visiting Scotland my love of this country and the people who live there grew and I love to live with them through good stories.
My favorite romances are M/M romantic suspense - I love the element of mystery, intrigue and all that fun stuff.
M/M part - because I firmly believe everyone has the right to love and romance. There should be no prejudice. We should all rejoice when ANYONE is blessed enough to find a soul mate (as many go through out life with no one to love.)
Love is love, no matter how you make it. And nothing states that more strongly than GLBT romance - the root of M/M romance.

Historical Romance is clearly the best, seasoned with a splash of suspense. Why? Because it takes me to world's I could never visit in real life.
