The God of most Christians (among others) is a projection of their own values. It doesn't really matter to them what the "whole" Bible says, they find the God they believe in among all the writings.
In defense of the Bible though, it must be remembered that it is not "one book" but a collection of many written over a long period. So it's not really fair to counter "Turn the other cheek" (which Jesus said) with something written in Psalms. The different idea he presented was the whole point.

Only Jesus can prove you that he is Son of God, i cant but he can, like he proved it to disciples who died for him becouse of their fate. Apostles almost went to their homes after Jesus death but they saw him resurected and only becouse of that they strated to preach and even risk their lifes for Him. @Theologikos God does not hate, and will never comand to kill or to hate anybody-Jesus teaching is beyond old testament teaching. Jesus preached the kingdom of God. He welcomed people "in the kingdom of God" that means that he welcomed them in deeper understanding of God. "entering the kingdom of God in Jesus language for in 75% DOESENT mean entering heaven but stepping in comapany with God. So Jesus didnt say that rich will enter heaven like u qoute but that they will never understand God.

The God of most Christians (among others) is a projection of their own values. It doesn't really matter to them what the "whole" Bible says, they find the God they believe in among all the writings.
In defense of the Bible though, it must be remembered that it is not "one book" but a collection of many written over a long period. So it's not really fair to counter "Turn the other cheek" (which Jesus said) with something written in Psalms. The different idea he presented was the whole point.

In the Old Testament, God had to do certain things to preserve the Jewish race to produce the Messiah. We are under grace now. God no longer requires death for certain sins.
What people don't understand is that we are born sinful, belonging to the Devil. Jesus provided a way out. If you shun the only way, you will belong to the Devil for and eternity.
