isn't there supposed to be an upper mortent at the first crotchet beat of the first bar (not including anacrusis)?? and also at the first crotchet beat of a few other bars (1, 2, 9, 10, 13, 14 etc...)
nice prelude. i hate the opening theme of a fugue being played with any sort of ornaments, and the dynamics of the fugue were a bit too one dimensional: the skill is keeping opposing volume across different hands.
This is a great interpretation! It's all very well and good not varying the tone and tempo because "Bach couldn't" in the 18th Century... but if you have three pedals to mess with now, milk them for all they're worth!
I agree that it sounds a bit bland, but then again my piano teacher always says about how the song *is* supposed to flow rather quietly and smoothly in a walking tempo. Thats why the prelude often feels very tasteless.

Very masterly played. I like the coolness of the prelude and exciting rhythm of the fugue. The best performance of the piece I have heard so far. This piece is actually a grade 8 exam piece for both ABRSM and trinity this year.
This is the best performance I have found on YouTube so far. I love the articulation, clarity, and energy. This is my reference since I just started this piece.
your totally wrong. it was very common with baroque music to play "free" tempo.... stop talking so much about christianity and check your facts instead......muppet
I really liked your playing although i thought the hand crossover in the prelude was a little too staccato.great fugue the voices were well accented brilliant!
very well played!but the ending of the Prelude is a bit too slow,it sounds as if the song has ended, and the Fugue was a bit too fast,it's like from a very gentle piece to a very fast piece, but I like this person's spirit in the Fugue!Generaly it was fantastic although 4:28 a note was wrong...
Bello, Bravo!

This is a rather superb performance - intelligently phrased and voiced, without idiosyncrasy. Vintage Bach!

Hands of a surgeon, I might add. A very beautifully crisp delivery. Bravo! :)

the prelude sounded too slow for me, but maybe I'm just impatient and like running a bit more xD
And I totally I loved the fugue! congratz

does anybody know what the song is called... the one that is like based on this or summat, its done with voices instead of keyboards...
musicman290592 2 years ago
There was a song called I'm Sorry done by a band called Poe that sampled the melody line from this prelude. Maybe that's the one you're thinking of?

The clarity of the fugue was brilliant, and it is a bitch of a piece to learn. Kudos
