Sorry for saying this, but this guy posted so many videos of him on his bike, the R1200GS, when he is falling while trying to climb a hill, falling while trying to pass in water, falling in the snow... have anyone thought maybe it's not the bike's problem?

It's his bike. It is an adventure bike that is mad for this. It's not a classic, brake one; buy new. One does not buy a 1200GS to sit and polish in the garage and take it for a nice sunday drive to the local cafe. That's what Harley's are for. Most people can only dream about buying a bike like this. But he is not obligated to treat his like a baby just because someone else can't afford one. Oh, good! Feel much better now ;)

I sure hope whomever you sold that poor bike to saw these videos before he purchased it. It is sad to see someone intentionally wreck such a beautiful bike, one that so many people only wish they could own and treat right.

@155571063 Explain how that directly breaks the engine. You hear that sound when it hits the ground? Thats the crash bars that protect the whole front end during a crash. The only thing getting scratched up is the bars.

It's cool that you can (sorta) safely spin that thing in the snow and not really worry about alot of damage when you drop it. That's a tough machine. I would never attempt that on my FJR in the snow!

@filleke69 Are you kidding I'm the worst motorcycle offroad rider on the planet. Every time I take that GS offroad I'm so happy when I get back to the tarmac. I also like to point out that although BMW advertises the GS as the, "Do all, go anywhere" motorcycle its actually really bad at certain things.
@dtmbcorp V-strom is weak off road. KLR650 is weak on road, but the cost of a KLR650 is so low you really can't go wrong with one. You could choose a KLR instead of a GS and still have money left over to gear it up, and take it on a long ride.
@halfthrottle I found it really painful to watch this video, I love the BMW R1200GS.... Oh well, its a very strong and sturdy motorbike, I hope you repaired any damage, nice video though, I don't suppose you have any of you going off road, Without crashing...
@HMSDaring1 Yeah I do have a few like that check out my "ride of the Valkyries" and "alpha and omega" videos. There are some 1200GS vs V-strom videos that have some good off road in them.

The key to staying up if you ever get rolling is to clutch it when it starts spinnin the tire, you'll never regain traction with the throttle. I rode about 5 miles in snow and only picked it up three times. Them damn GSs get heavy , I just had to try also. I was smart enough to do it when no one was takin a video. lol

I am astonished. Why are you treating an off-road bike like a trial one or and enduro? If you buy an expensive bike to drop it off continuously is because you have too much money or because you have no fucking idea of the bike you bought. The GS was made to cross america from Alaska to the very end of Chile / Argentina. For example.
It's all good dude.. that's what the crash bars are for. (thumbs up)
If we don't mess about and practice these things.. we don't really know how the bike reacts. Those that comment negatively probably don't actually OWN their bikes.. they just posses them for a time till they sell them for nearly what they paid for them. I've ridden 2 of the big GS's down to the nub.. and working on a third. Keep up the work... these things get smaller the more you ride them.

The cylinder heads are protected by bars , on mine anyway, a 91 GS. I've dropped many times and never even busted a mirror. I only fall over sittin still of screwing around slow manauvers, they turn so nice. I've ridden in the snow and it sucks big time, I picked it up 3 times in 5 miles. What I did discover is when the rear breaks traction you can not regain it with throttle control, it spins or slides, you clutch it and coast, then ease back into it. smart folks stay home, crazys have to try

It's all good dude.. that's what the crash bars are for. (thumbs up)
If we don't mess about and practice these things.. we don't really know how the bike reacts. Those that comment negatively probably don't actually OWN their bikes.. they just posses them for a time till they sell them for nearly what they paid for them. I've ridden 2 of the big GS's down to the nub.. and working on a third. Keep up the work... these things get smaller the more you ride them.

The cylinder heads are protected by bars , on mine anyway, a 91 GS. I've dropped many times and never even busted a mirror. I only fall over sittin still of screwing around slow manauvers, they turn so nice. I've ridden in the snow and it sucks big time, I picked it up 3 times in 5 miles. What I did discover is when the rear breaks traction you can not regain it with throttle control, it spins or slides, you clutch it and coast, then ease back into it. smart folks stay home, crazys have to try
