One of the finest versions of this engine Railking has made. And here I was five years ago fearing of having to reconfigure my layout to accommodate a Premier Dreyfuss Hudson and railking once again delivered the goods. Thanks for posting!
Since it's Railking Imperial it should be able to take the grades just fine. I'm not sure exactly what power source(s) you are using but from previous videos I can see that you have atleast 3 trains powered up at any time. So from what I can tell, it may be a power issue where the engine can't get enough power to get it and it's 5 car consist up the grade. Or maybe when the engine was at the store or manufactured, the speed control may have been turned off. That could be your problem.
That could help, it depends on what the actual problem is. Is the locomotive just slowing down and stopping on the grade or are the wheels still moving but not getting traction. If traction is the problem then more weight in the front should help if not fix the problem. But if the engine is just slowing to a stop then weighs would only make it worse. And even with a Z-4000 power could still be a problem. The track may be dropping power from the Z-4000 to the grade so that there is less power.
Also if it is just not getting traction, adding more traction tires to any wheels that don't have them would also potentially help the issue. Idk maybe you could film what's going on and post it so I can atleast see what's going on and try to help you out. On a different note, you are one lucky kid, Having all those high-end MTH trains + the space to have a big set up is really cool. I love MTH myself but all I have is the DCS and a Daylight and AFT set with no room to run and it irritates me xD
Alright. I subbed you so as soon as you put it up I'll take a look at it and see if I can't figure anything out, And if the shockingly large amount of MTH knowledge I have stored in my 17 year old mind can't think of what's causing it. Then I'll show it to a couple of my hobby shop friends and let them see if they can figure it out. I still think that it could be a power issue, depending on how far away the lockon is, the problem could be caused by both lack of traction and less power together
what curve will it run on?

That's a sweet engine, all I have is Lionel. If I bought a MTH engine or car I would feel like I was cheating on my girlfriend! LOL

It would not be cheating! Many people have both Lionel and MTH. Thanks for the comment!

It's not the power issue. I am running it with a Z-4000. It might be that I need weights on the front trucks. What do you think?

Sure and yes it is slipping in place. I am probably going to add weights and put in new traction tires.
