  • This is what I DO NOT UNDERSTAND about some people in this country. They love a certain foreign dish,i.e. pork carnitas, so they make them.. Instead of replicating the recipe faithfully they choose to "bastardize it ". By adding or removing ingredients onto the recipes.. THIS IS HOW TEX MEX food got started..Granted, some ingredients might be hard to come by. At least, they should make the effort to be faithful to the original recipe..If they do not want to, enjoy TACO BELL AND DEL TACO..

  • as soon as he brought out the canned salsa and lemon garlic pork tnderloin i was like....."title says carnitas but this is going nowhere near carnitas

  • Dude!! Dont insult one of the greatest mexican dishes. Love what you do, but dont taco bell the carnitas! Other than that keep up the good work!!

  • Who cares what it is called... He is taking care of his kids. Shut up...

  • this is not carnitas dumbass u didnt even fry the meet to get that outer crunch

  • The name for this recipe should be: "Guisado de puerco con tortillas de harina".

(Pork stew with flour tortillas). It looks yummy anyway. Thank you.

  • remember guys its single dad recipes i guess hes to lazy to go through the real step of making carnitas :D :D its cool though but not even close

  • im not crazy about pork but i wil deft try this out . great video

  • RJ, thanks for posting this recipe. I am making something similar that is inspired by your recipe. Mine is a slight bit different but your video inspired me to make something. I am using the crock pot as you are. Have pork too, not the tenderloin but something similar. I didn't have onions and didn't feel like driving to the store for them so I put the pork in, garlic salt, used green sauce not red. Forgot the cilantro. Cooking now. Hope it turns out. Thanks for your recipe.

  • 10 for effort.

I like your idea for videos, for single dads it's a good idea. We all need a little help sometimes. But learn to cook for crying out loud. You're teaching people to do stuff you can't do yourself.

  • This looks like a decent recipe, but why call it carnitas?? I am sure it tasted good but i cried a little when you used a crockpot for a tenderloin. you're not searing or frying the pork, you're using a loin instead of a shoulder or butt, and there is no oil whatsoever. Call it something unique don't just label it carnitas.

  • He should have atleast broiled them after.

  • Yeah, I have agree with you. For carnitas it needs to be a pork butt/shoulder. It should either be covered in oil or water and let the water reduce so that it then fries in the pork's rendered fat so that it's crispy and falling apart.

  • @Maiwiew who cares you stupid cuntface

  • nice vid nice dad, but you didnt show us the finished carnitas.

  • right. i wanted to see what the meat looked like

  • I really admire what you're doing.
