  • Take a look at my guide! bit . ly / vZajn3 your feedback is appreciated! :)

David! Take our free tour first !

  • Lubin is the man!!! I jokingly watched this ... actually used the tips... and it worked! Drastically improved my game in 15 mins!!

  • Hold your breath for one day, Die! I didnt believe it until I saw it!

  • Awesome tips !!! Thanks

  • I have been struggling with my short irons for a couple years actually and was losing several frustrating strokes a round because of it but your video lesson has restored my confidence. I am hitting the ball straighter & longer all because I followed your grip lesson. I had my left hand way under the grip w/ my thumb on top & my rt hand in the wrong position...no control over the face. Thank you for making golf fun again...

  • I had a massive hook until i started gripping correctly, now my consistency has gone way up

  • thanks for this! this is very nice!!!

  • very good advice

  • tell tha fella with the chainsaw to p!ss off

    thanks for the tips tho

  • A new band, that wants to get some fans. we are Proper. we just make some good music, so visit our channel and enjoy!

  • I paid more attention the mortar sound than I did to you.

  • What's the most effective grip?

  • EVERY (!) golfer should watch this and employ this technique!! Excellent! I'm off to buy a white glove!

  • Nice the sound of the motorsaw.

  • great video, very informative!

  • John, very helpful - thank you

  • Great video.

  • I will try this tomorrow and get back to you

  • An excellent video

  • This is great; I just went golfing the other day and a guy I got paired with who was in his 70s gave me this same tip about grip. I hadn't hit a driver in years because I would always slice it. After he showed me this same technique, I blasted a drive with his driver straight down the middle. He then gave me another ball and toldme to try my old grip: huge slice. The grip made the difference.

  • can your trousers get any higher?

  • griping is my girlfriends biggest mistake too :/

  • I have a tendency to point my left hand thumb towards the lower left. I don't know if it's right, but I sure hit my wedges nice with it though. My hybrid & 5 wood sure suffers though (nasty ass hook). Any tips would be great.

  • @imnotigerswoods haha just remember to check ur grip. but the reason thats happening is cuz with wedges, ur not swinging that hard and theres not much body motion or release.

  • Nice instruction!

Hi friends want to play golf better, check out following link(copy it into your browser):

  • golfpushcart. tk/ << Good push golf carts.

  • This was excellent! I had a benign tumor on my left index finger which forced me to use the "baseball grip" for my first season. I had surgery about 3 years ago and I'm just starting my 2nd season of golf this year. I of course started looking in to a new grip & decided I liked the "over-lapping grip" the most. This IS the FIRST TIME I heard to NOT put your left hand UNDER the club, But instead on the SIDE of the club! As well as point your left thumb to the RIGHT of it! Can't wait to try it!

  • I have tried this and it most certainly works. Marking the glove is a good reminder and releases ones brain to concentrate on the other 1,000 things.

    Thanks for the lesson.

  • that was geat

  • Absolutely brilliant, I'm a beginner & used to make a pigsear of 50% of my shots, after studying your video its now 100% sucess, thankyou.

  • Excellent, he really drove it home in no uncertain terms.

  • Thank you :)

  • Rubbish,absolute Bollox

  • God put that here just for golf! amazing video!!!

  • @TigerWoodsWorld yea but next tigher just wait til their done sawing wood

  • Interesting lawn mower sound effects

  • If you have to think this much about something like gripping a club, dont even try taking your club back. It'll never work, give up while you still can

  • @R013ERT92 Okay negative Ned

  • @R013ERT92 Most coaches and pro's say the grip is the most important part of the whole swing. That's good enough for me.

  • "god put that for golf, bet you didn't know that"

  • Great video !

  • Golf is a physically demanding sport, and a great golfer needs to stay flexible and be in great shape. The pro’s spend thousands of dollars on golf fitness trainers and coaches to help keep them on top of their game, but for me that was not a possibility. After years of complaining about my game plateauing and about being sore from playing so much I knew I had to do something about it, but after a few stretches I was lost.

A colleague of mine showed me this great tool!

  • This lesson seems to be another approach to the one in January's Golf Magazine. I've been working on that one, and it seems to give me more distance.

  • felix lee

  • clears up a few things... lets try it out!

  • Outstanding.. I'll try these tips first thing tomorrow :)

  • Really good video. greenieplanet[dot]com

  • nice vid! around 2:25 i noticed your hand wasn't all the way on the grip. this is where i think instructors need to be very picky. i see a lot of "piccolo" grips and regripping in the backswing. much to do with not choking down a bit on club!

  • Mr. Lubin, your videos are awesome! Thanks for taking the time to produce and post!

  • lol 1:30. Hard as a rock.

  • Well done! The instructions are clear and the tips are easy to remember.

  • Wow...that must be the most thorough and complete tutorial on the Grip in the whole of YouTube - First Class Job Sir!

  • god gave us grooves in our hands for golf...and he gave us appendixs and impacted wisdom teeth why?? i like the grip though..

  • @crankycactus Because before we evolved to the current state we are now, we had to use those two things in daily life. I don't believe God created us btw, just playing devil's advocate.

Great video anyway, i'll certainly remember the tips from it.

  • Very helpful ! Thank you!

  • great video

  • I've always struggled with the grip and especially grip pressure and this video really helped me understand this better. I hope this allows me to have a more fluid motion to my swing.

  • Good video of how to grip the golf club, I have some grip lesson videos on my channel that only hope people find as helpful as this video.

  • the whole toothpaste idea for grip pressure is pretty brilliant. It's difficult to explain how tightly to hold the club to noobs, but that is a simple but effective visual. Well done.

  • Good one for me, thanks!!. By the way who is the guy with the chain saw?

  • i call that masturbation grip

  • best instructor ive seen

    !!!!!

  • Watched, went to the range, and immediately started striking the ball better. Switched from interlocking to overlapping, loosened the grip, and noticed right away that the club was hinging better. Still have some work to go with the rest of the swing but this instruction worked great for me. Thanks.

  • Hello I would be very apprecate if you visit my channel and left comments on my swing! Thanks you!

  • you are the men!

  • he said wrist cock

  • Good video, thank you.

  • like it!

  • Excellent presentation.

  • Great teaching!

  • nice teaching ! :) helped alot

  • Great job. Having a good grip and posture is all important, but if one tends to sway their hips, meaning not load properly against the right leg, one can never be a consistent player.

Proper pivot is what separates an avarage golfer from the pros.

  • this is a nice golf grip lesson

  • Hi

Take a look at my You Tube Video: "The Concept Of A Strong/Weak Golf Grip Is Wrong"

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • check out an excellent grip and release tip at hitmanhawky check it out thanks

  • Great video. So detailed and very easy to understand.

  • Thank you John, this is awesome advice and teaching.

  • when i was a kid i went to Billy Casper's junior camp in Chula Vista and he told us golf was, and i quote "a combination PALM and finger grip". the Golden Bear also said "if i was going to hit you with the back of my left hand, i would NOT flick you with my fingers, i would use the back of my PALM"

  • The grip shown in this video has been one of the biggest improvements in my game. If you have a problem with the "flying elbow" like I did, changing to this grip versus the underneath "baseball" grip will eliminate it!

  • grapplegrip,com

  • check out my proper grip and release lesson at hitmanhawky if you use it youll be much stronger ballstriker period i dont just teach it i do check my swing out at hitmanhawky and the lessons are great let me know what you think leave comment and thanks hitmanhawky

  • have to say i've been terrible for gripping the club too hard...always felt as though i may end up letting go. But softening the grip really helped. Similarly, i have a tendency to hold the club in my palm instead of fingers. Fixed that up and the swing feels free and smooth and the balls go further and truer.

  • got to say this has helped me so so much. been struggling with my slice - just tried the grip over the range and hit one slice out of 60 balls. club feels really good during the swing and contact with the ball is much sweeter. THANKS!!!!

  • Thanks so much. I was in the golf course today, and I could tell the difference.. Once again. Thank you!

  • Wow, thank you so much!

I seriously have never been able to hit a consistent straight shot with my driver so far since I started golfing, which was about 2-3 years ago. And so today I was just bored and wanted to fix my driver, and my grip has always felt good, but i just could never make good contact.

But, what I was doing wrong was my left palm was gripping the club not my fingers. And this vid. really helped me! I was hitting 225-250 consistently straight today!

    Thanks!!

  • thanks so much

i have always had my hands the wrong way round and not got as much power in my shots

but now im putting my hands the right way and holding the club right, im hitting my shots 20-30 yards further

    thanks again :)

  • Great video, i should take more golf lessons at exeter golf drinving range.

You should check out my page for some more golf videos !

  • OMFG I'm no longer a athiest because of this video.

    mind is blown

  • the most important part of this video is where john proves the existence of god. nice work ;)

  • That was Awesome!

  • Great video. Easy understandable. Thx

  • i bought the clubs and a unique checkered newspaper Cap at the local Salvation Army. When i go to the local range i noticed a lot of staring at me. i found out that the Cap i was wearing and the clubs i was using were donated by a widow of a former member of the Range. Golf players never die; they just get reincarnated until they turn Pro.

  • i just started playing. i read a few good "how to" play instructions and went the the local range and the very first drive was 200 yards clean. i am hooked. i have been to the range 4 times working on the 3 iron and the driver. 70% of the 3I go 100 yards clean and about 70% driver go 200 yards. is this luck or is it this easy when you first start?. My head is clear from any real visual instructions. i what a longer drive.

  • first of all a 3i shot go 200

  • this game is hard man. Ive gone to the driving range about 5 times now, and it only gets harder. but this video is alot of help.

  • nice video. i def improved after watching how to really HOLD the club right...

  • hey hank im also 14 but im a 3 handicap and have i alot of experience what ur doing is called a block or blocking the ball try slowing ur hips down because there getting ahead of ur hands

  • your only 14 and u got a handicap that high wow thats amazing where u heading towards the PGA touring circuit?

  • If you are trying to pay for college with a golf scholarship in the though economy or improve your golf swing significantly, get a "GrooveMasterGolf". Hands down, this is the best thing every created for golf training. I bought one and it works.

  • this video cured my slice

  • fair explanation, but still leaves too many unanswered questions.

  • hey guys my names hank and im 14 years old and ive had about 8 years of teaching and i play on the ijgt and my swing is FLAWLESS. but all my balls go right. but they dont fade or draw. they just go right. not like a shank right. just right. it may be my grip but should only see 2 knuckles right? oh well if anyone could help thatd be great.

    -cheers

  • Kovalcik17, try and turn your leading foot in slighty, so if you right handed turn your left foot in to yourself, hopefully this will help you.

    Ginz14

  • Hank,

The biggest secret in golf is the grip.

No one has yet to explain it properly so all can understand.

You need to learn more about cause and effect.

If you are hitting in any direction but straight at target, you do not have a flawless swing. Sorry. 8 years of instruction and your teacher has not taught you cause and effect, get your money back. Your teacher not taught you about sequence of motion, dynamics, compression, physics, bone and muscles work

  • okay, but is it really my swing that making me push it right? cause believe me, my sing may not be flawless but its pretty good. like good enough to shoot in the 70's. now lets say i just stopped worrying about my swing and just wrked on practicing hitting balls and chipping and putting. just developing a repeting motion in each. what would you say to that?

  • Good enough to shoot in the 70's? I've been playing 7 months and not one lesson and i shoot 84's regularly... I'm surprised you haven't shot in the 60's.

  • Hey there Hank.

I'm not a big golfer, but I like it and try to learn every time I golf.

From my experience, I would say that your problem is you're moving your hip to the left when the club passes the point where the ball is initially resting. That is, try not moving your hip too much and also ginz14's advice on turning your leading foot slighty sould also be helpful.

  • thnkas for the help but believe it or not i had a ball speed of 165 mph! at 14! it didnt feel like i was swinging "out of my shoes" but then i saw it on video and i could clearly see i was trying to kill the ball. so i backd my ball speed down to about 140 and shot 69 couple days ago at jerricho cc. tough course. im playing in a tourney tomorrow so wish me luck!

  • kovalcik17,

try a stronger grip, rotate your hands slightly clockwise.

  • type in clemshaw, he is a better teacher. this is a weak grip this guys explaining, which usually only works for really good golfers. anyway type clemshaw, you will be glad u did.

  • hah.. i need all the help i can get.. lol.. anytime i wanna hit my balls go right.. and idk why.

  • You could be using too much wrist action at the start of your swing. Your wrists shouldn't move at the start of the swing. Using your wrists too much will cause you to not bring the clubface into impact straight.

  • Check Common mistake nr. 4, aiming ,this guy will tell you everythin!

  • Thank you so much for this video.

As I have been struggling lately with striking the ball. I knew that it was a small adjustment that I needed just didn't know what. When I got onto youtube, I just happened to think of my 'golf grip'. I found your video and watched it, then went back outside and hit some balls and the difference was amazing.

    Thank you again.

  • the only problem I found with gripping the club to lightly is that often becasue your gripping it too lightly the clubface opens when it hits the divot in front of the ball resulting in a fade?

  • great advice just started playing stopped my slice

  • Hi there

First please tell me that what is the meaning of the Numbers on the Irons and their usage. How to use them??? should they be used upon diffrent situations???

Please help me.. I m new in golf

    thanx

  • The number's are for reference. It give's you something to remember for distance. Everyone hit's club's differnet distances. But, after you figure out how far you hit each club for instance you would say well I'm 150 yards out so I'll hit a 7 iron and so on.

  • To sum of your question. The #'s on the clubs represents differences between clubs in length and loft . In other words, each club has different length and loft. Lower the # longer in length and less loft thus hit further but lower. General info only.

Driver (1 wood) - most are 45" in length and 8.5 - 13 degree in loft.

    7 iron - 36.75" in length and 35 degree.

    9 iron - 35.75 in length and 43 degree.

There's a .5" difference between the clubs and designed to hit ~10yds different between them.

  • the video is nice! i have a printer can make the golf balls nice! 3w qdunique com,, please kindly check!!

  • "God put that there for golf" lol very nice John

    golfinstructionsonline . blogspot. com

  • I don't use a glove anymore, I go for straight feel

  • great little vid thanks!

  • Glad I found this one! thanks for posting!

  • A very good and interesting lesson! Thanks, your explanations are really clear!

  • check out my channel "jsrsvideos" and watch my golf skillz video its awesome!!!!

  • hey! you've down a great job i've ever seen!

    thank you for your time!!!!!!

  • The line marked on the grip is at the point where the pinky finger meets the palm. Another grip video has the mark further in to the palm (by about 2cm). Which is correct? He appears to be gripping it like the latter in this video!!

  • it's good that you are being very particular with your grip coz it has a huge bearing on how much power you can generate , how much spin you can put on the ball and how high the ball will fly.gripping it in your fingers is the key.

  • Just got back from the range after watching this...wow! I was slicing and fading with occasional fat shots and getting gvery frustrated. I discovered the right hand's grip is probably THE most important element of getting the clubface to roll over correctly. Overlap the right-hand pinky over the left-hand ring finger is important too (was interlocking way too high with my right). Gained 10 yds and lift with each club and even had one guy take a break and watch ME (I'm a 100+ golfer).

  • Thanks alot for the instruction of the grip, i knew it was something missing, Thank you! :)

  • my dad likes gold lolz.

  • You are very good teacher! Thank you for your tips! Paulo Mazzeu

  • thats what she said.

  • thnx that helped

  • Excellent lesson.....tnx.

  • U got a good style of teaching. Thanks a ton!

  • excellent lesson! well done

  • Great tip. I figured out my own grip so im all good. and why do people only use irons on demonstrations? why not woods or drivers?

  • whos cutting trees down? i hear a chainsaw... :P

  • golf

  • Thanks much, i really needed a refresh and this was perfect!

  • Thanks for the clarification. I'm one who has been placing the line on my left hand under the grip instead of to the side. Oops!

  • Very clear and concise instruction on the single most important aspect of the golf swing. I'll try to find one of yours on addrees as well. Hope there is one.

  • Thank YOu,

    this Video saved my drive.

  • excellent class! best I've got!

  • thats a great tip

  • best grip lesson i have received in my 15 years of golfing. Thanks

  • Excellent - Très utile - Merci
