Um, in "Test Drive" (on youtube just type in 'test drive how to train your dragon', its the first one on the list), at about 0:39 to 0:43, it sounds very similar to 3:56 to 4:03 in this song. I hope that's what you're asking. :)

@nusua That seems to be a bit of a broad assumption. They didn't hire both of them so one could dominate the soundtrack. Just because they used a snippet of music that sounds similar to one of Powell's other scores doesn't mean there wasn't an even division of work.

@Candykus Trust me. I know the business. Zimmer developed some of the themes in the beginning, and Powell took over from there. Zimmer wants his name on everything, and he gets his name on everything, whether he, his interns, or no one affiliated composed the music.

@nusua it is hans who wrote the themes on the first kung fu panda (the asian style is from Hans listen to beyond rangoon, the thin red line, the last samurai, some tracks of batman begins and singapoor of pirates 3 ... and you will see) john powell had just re-used the style after in dragon.

@Candykus While there are certainly portions I accredit to be absolutely Hans Zimmer (like a lot of the very exposed string chords, like at around 2:30, and 1:45 sounds very Lion King-ish), but quite frankly he's not nearly as intricate with action music, or as clever with reinterpritation and implimentation of themes and I think a lot of the big, powerful pieces and the catchy, fun works are John Powell. On the other hand, Hans Zimmer is capable of "Po Finds the Truth"
