I agree with many of the comments. This song is a "Legendary Love Song" ,written by a man who almost died. Most of this audience was not alive when he originally recorded this song in 1971. Give Gord a break. He might not be around too long. Appreciate the "beauty" of his music, and shut up.

I saw him perform live about 10 years ago and, sadly, he looked haggard ... as if he'd been drinking. In this video, he looks pretty bad, too. But, his songs (I was in college when he was really popular) are some of the best. I wish him well and hope he has his health.

just watched 3 live performances by gordon lightfoot, 69', 74', and this one, 2009...watch time do it's thing...you see the artist grow old, fade, but the song, like his voice, remains the same...something worth while being said and a wonderful voice to say it....god i'm going to miss life! i don't care if we'll all be heaven together for ever and ever...i love life!!!

This show was incredible. Totally sold out.  Gordon and the band played for almost 2 hours with no break. They're so professional and gracious. I wish he'd come back again soon!
