A good drill. A bit stiff though. Try relaxing a little bit. Also don't pull your punch back to chamber for power. Hit immidiately!! There is no need to draw your punch back to gain power. This slows your strike. Train hard :-)
I learned this drill from escrima since then I have been told it is also a Okinawan drill. The purpose of this drill is 1) it developes hand speed and should be performed with footwork not static. 2) insertions are added in between each section to develope familiarity with what ever techniques you wish to practice. I personally practice alot of kata bunkai including choking, locks, slipping the punch and throws. Practiceit with a changeover to the left side punching as well. I shall post a demo.
my Hung Gar instructor also taught Wing Chun, and he used to mix in an escrima drill called huh bud (I'm probably misspelling the heck out of that sorry) to supplement the lap sau and chi sau drills for his Wing Chun guys.
I don't like this drill. There's no reason to touch an opponent's weapon three times without attacking it. With that first pak, the opponent's right side is wide open for a variety of attacks (chain punches to the ribs, kicks to the ribs and kicks to the knees). I don't like this drill for sticky hand drills either.
the clue is in the name, its a drill. there are four seperate techniques in there put together and drilled to promote muscle memery and good technique. i guess you watched the first minute of the clip before making your comment, watch and LISTEN to the whole thing. for the record, a well practiced, ie drilled three touch technique works well in a spar.
Nice drill - good to play with.

@MrChiSao i agree, but i think his whole purpose was to thoroughly show the technique on the drill... that is just my opinion.

we do this exercise, its a good thing to drill..
if you are doing it properly and 'getting' the point of it you realise you can feel the opponents movements and not need to look...
drilling this seems to be good for speed too

This drill is a triple passive exercise, which in layman's terms is threefold street suicide.
Of course God is loving, patient and gracious so He will forgive you for killing yourself and all those you show this to.
