Beethoven third and fourth piano concertos are still the highest peak in the history of Music. can' t believe that one person could capture EVERYTHING worthy and beautiful about Life and Love ...Romantic composers will never die.
Went to one of the few concerts of classical music I have ever been and listened to this beauty. I'm now in love with classical music and I am trying to explore more.
marvellous! gilels plays with such effortless beauty and ease; his sound is utterly magnificent and heavenly; golden. I love the piece; fantastic motive with great rhythm and as always by the maestro, Beethoven, is wonderfully powerful.
However, I don't find this interpretation as inferior as you describe it. But again, I'm not too much of a critic; maybe its just my love of this last movement.
In general, the interpretation seems to be too soft, quite and passive, and the orchestra especially feels like being in a dream like state. To me this concerto requires more impulsive and forceful interpretation and we do not find it here. Gilels made some technical flows and seems to be playing not his best conc.3. Despite this fact, he sounds mature and calm, confident in his playing. My overall estimation is that this performance is not as convincing as expected from such a master.
Amazing piece of music is performed by amazing master of piano!!!
Gilels is the god of piano!
when I listen his records I guess that while he gets older he plays better and better with his age!!!
BRAVO!!!

The applause lasted for over a minute! I am not one to criticize, for I cannot play better than Gilels.

He really brings out the left hand throughout this movement--more so than the other pianists I heard. I like it.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I don't like it at all. Too much academician and too boring...Listen to Arrau with Otto klemperer... FANTASTIC
