@willingtonram I like the "I wanna go surfing" lyrics...but maybe that's just b/c I'ma huge Beach Boys fan...I didn't even realize that the singer wanted to be an early-80s British post-punk guy until I saw videos of the Drums live. Just hearing the version on the record I thought these guys were 60s wannabes(cool!!) and not 80s wannabes(ugh!).

@eiresmif35 Don't be so inane. It's a simple observation. Many US sources took the piss out of Britpop purely because of the revival element. Ten years down the line, you have US bands like the Drums doing Ian Curtis dance moves and sounding like Orange Juice. Britpop was retro: I have no argument with that. It's the way Britpop was damned for being retro yet bands like the Drums are lauded for being retro.
