Yes, let's applause the pseudo-heroism of a guy who denies reality. This film is capitalist propaganda. Cheers to Indiana schools that are attempting to educate children about protecting the environment!
@zooland12 - There is a difference between protecting the environment, and forcing Inconvenient Truth (better title A Convenient Lie) on children.
Capitalism is a very good thing, one of the greatest things that mankind ever came up with. It has led to more freedom and greater prosperity for all nations that have truly embraced it.
But you disagree, because you deny reality. Funny how that works out. Because you know what reality is better than the rest of us. How arrogant is the left?

Capitalism is a good thing? infinite growth on a finite planet a good thing? 200 species extinct a day a good thing? infantilization of adults a good thing? corruption of children a good thing? inestimable exploitation a good thing? destroying the only home we will ever have a good thing? I don't deny reality, sir, I submit myself into the abyss of it. Anthropogenic climate change is a fact; it is reality. So get the fuck out of the way while I aid in dismantling your fantasy cosmology.
@zooland12 - Yes, capitalism is a good thing. Freedom to make voluntary trades is a good thing. All the "evils" you mention are not caused by capitalism, but by governments.
AGW is questionable at best.
So fuck you and your totalitarianism, camouflaged as kindness. You are the one who wants to control people. You are the one who is condemning people to poverty. I will certainly NOT stand out of the way as you mentally masturbate yourself into thinking you are helping anyone but your own ego.
@mpc91 Believeing that economics is not completely in bed with government is simply blind. Mussolini's original recipe for facism was to allow business and government to intermingle. The fact is we have an economic system based on exploitation, unsustainable resourse destruction, and cut-throat competition- and our political "leaders" gain power and control by kneeling down to corporate interests, interests that serve only the wealthy and industrialized. Interests that are murdering the Earth.
@zooland12 - When did I say that government was not too involved with business. That's the opposite of what I'm saying. It's already FAR, FAR too involved. But environmentalists don't want less interaction, they want MORE.
And competition is a good thing. That's what governments help them limit. Licensing and regulation benefit existing business, while keeping new competition out. The solution is to shrink and limit government's power to interfere. Not too increase the size of the leviathan.
@zooland12 - Your right in that business and government are too tied together. Crony capitalism is NOT capitalism. It's a symptom of big government, it lets business keep new competitors out. Government gets power by "giving" things to all sorts of people, rich and poor.
Competition is a good thing. It forces people to do things better and more efficiently.
Exploitation sounds bad. Using resources to help people would be more accurate. That's a good thing.
Isaac, I see you everyday but for some reason when I saw u on YouTube it's like holy s*** I know that kid! lol good job on the vid. Where can I see not evil just wrong? It looks good
Hello everyone and thank you for viewing this video and commenting on it, if you have any questions just keep on postiong them. Spread the word and stop indoctrination. (I am Steve's son, Isaac, the one from the video).
mryuk76, how about CLIMATEGATE? The leaked emails from the researchers behind the climate change "science". Seems as though they have been committing criminal fraud with their junk science. The lead researcher at East Anglia University has recently ADMITTED that there has been NO MEASURABLE INCREASE in global temps over the last 15 years.
Produce scientific evidence that shows decades of research done by hundreds of scientists in various fields related to climate change may be wrong, and then opinions such as the one featured in the clip belong in a science classroom. Skepticism is good, but having a problem with Gore's film is not in itself an attack on climate change research. Get your logic straight.
I am a scientist and, believe me, I have delved into the science. As I've told the teachers and administrators many times, I'm not out to change any teacher's mind about AGWT. If they want to believe that everything in AIT is true, that is their prerogative. My complaint is about bias in the classroom on how it has been presented. If they're going to show AIT and 'the 11th Hour," then they need to provide some counterpoints. How else do we expect kids to develop any critical thinking skills?
Using the errors in An Inconvenient Truth as a vehicle to challenge climate change research is disingenuous. AIT is a rhetorical tool, as is McAleers work, e.g. using the waving flag of the Iwo Jima memorial to symbolize the American way. A science teacher should not have to give equal time to opposing arguments if they lack the support of research done by experts in the field. This would be similar to giving equal time to creationism in a lesson about evolution.
One of the arguments I've gotten from the administration RE showing NEJW to counterbalance previous showings of AIT is that "2 wrongs do not make a right." Sounds like you're making the same argument. Unless you have some magic wand you can use to take the "rhetoric" of AIT out of the kids' heads, then I would argue that providing them with some counterpoints is the responsible thing to do.I am not a creationist, but I would have have no problem with kids being exposed to it along with evolution
As recently as 2008 the Hutchinson Kansas public schools were still showing An Inconvenient Truth and testing children on it. I pointed out to my niece (the student that brought me the tests) that the "science" was far from settled and there was a lot more to the issue than was being presented.
Parents should be involved in their children education and active in countering misinformation. I'm glad to see this example of such and I hope it inspires many more to be involved as well.
An judge in the UK sayd the movie had 9 errors in it, and if shown there must be supplemtary information correcting it .. Haha, Al Gore ladies and gentleman..
They basically said thanks for your opinion, but no thanks. At the next meeting, a group of teachers chose a rep to read a statement that basically protested the board's willingness to even consider my opinions. Nice, huh? Hence this video and other efforts to come. I would encourage any parent in a similar situation to take similar action. I for one do not want to look back years from now and have regrets over having not taken action.
Excellent. Wasn't that Gore-flick banned in english schools due to the misinformation and factual inaccuracies? I remember hearing about a court case.
@Clausfarre: Not banned, but the Court did require that a booklet be given to students who view the film containing corrections of all of the errors in the movie. The Court found 7 major errors - each integral to the basis of Gore's assertions, and countless other unproven statements presented as 'fact' in Gore's film. In any event, the film has been widely discredited, as is global warming in general.
Good thing he drives a diesel, smash all the little priuses!
