@tribeofgaul Way off, bro. It's a pretty great book, and while it's certainly a work of a second-generation Hispanic writer, there's plenty for anyone to relate to.
Great insight into what makes Oscar who and what he is. Junot's real-life brother (maybe Junot's most interesting character) shows up as Yunior, but shows up more prevalently in his short stories.
This is really cool! I started reading "Life of Oscar Wao" for school and it turned out to be one of the unusual, realistic and thought-provoking present time novels. Loved it! :)
