Remember when graphics where shit, and you actually had to fill in the gap between the pixels on screen and the story being told with your IMAGINATION? I remember playing Super Metroid and A Link to the Past, and not giving half a flea's ass whether or not it was photorealistic, because I filtered the world through my own concepts of it. That's the problem with today's graphics, they leave no room for imagination. The world looks exactly like the designers TELL you it looks, period.

Diablo 2 was a freakin scary game in all its isometric glory because for every vague detail about the monsters you saw, you FILLED IN the details with your IMAGINATION, something that just doesn't get enough exercise in today's games.
