These videos are not really a correct representation for many of live performances are autotune assisted.This video is the comparison between the studio recorded track and the autotune and backing track assisted live performance. Take all these singers back to live aid 1985 and lets hear them sing in an open stadium.I cringe to even think about it.

these are terrible example =s of live performances., the one with justin bieber was mixer board assited. if you really want to hear his voice you have to watch an acoustic version. You can tell his voice is much more limited in an acousitc performance. Also ive heard usher live acapella and hes differnt than his "OMG" voice. Usher and Brian McFadden were obviously either lip-syncing in their live performances or using auto-tune live (or both). So it's not really a fair comparison.

I'm not saying Katy Perry or the Black Eyed Peas are the greatest singers, but it IS hard sometimes to sing live if the sound isn't set up properly where you can hear yourself or the backing music. I can't say either way if they sound bad live, but that could be a factor.
