@sh9683 actually your paying for the ios4 firmware that the ipod classic does not support, and yes the touchscreen. also the ipod touch features the first ever wifi, and it gives you access to the app store and itunes music store. all of these features are not included and cannot be supported on the ipod classic, unless you add modifications and mess with the opereating systme of the device. but doing that can be very crucial to your ipods saftey and exposure to apple.

@MrJames23426 but is it really worth an extra 200$? i mean a classic can hold up to 20 000 songs wont break at first drop, will last much longer with abuse, unlike the touch drop it once it shatters (at least the screen) can't hold nearly the amount of songs, and yet it costs so much more! sure it has a bunch of features, but is it worth it? when you have to baby it so that it doesn't break

@sh9683 actually if you take care of your ipod touch, it wont break. and actually the screen is made out of tough matierials and the classic is made out of a stainless steel case. which would be pretty hard to break. so i think its worth the money. i have both the ipod touch and the ipod classic so i get a device with games and tons of features, and i have the classic to hold all of my music and video on it. i like them both, but, id probably lean more towards the ipod touch.

@MrJames23426 actually i now a lot of people who have dropped there touch and now have shattered screens, works fine except the screen is cracked! classic can be dropped ridding a bike or just drop many times and still works fine and no cracks, classic is worth the money unlike the touch where your paying 400$ for 64 gigs and you must baby your touch and make sure you don't drop it even once! classic equals better! the touch wpuld be good if it was not so much!

@sh9683 well isnt that what your supposed to do for all of your electronics which is baby them to keep them in working order and keep them clear of cosmetic wear. so i think they are pretty equal in value. another reason that the touch is more expensive is that it is way newer than the ipod classic. the ipod classic has been around for a long time. whereas the touch has only been around for what 3-4 years tops.

@MrJames23426 uhm ive dropped my classic 5 to ten times, it still works great! with no cracks, i know for a fact if i had a touch id have gone through two to four of them with the amount ive droped my classic! i mean to make the touch at same value as the classic make the ting thicker and increase the memory to at least the same as the classic or lower the price! touch is good but not for 400$
