  • i love the album version of this song. it's very velvet underground, although that could be said ad nauseum about this excellent band. anyway, this live version is so cool. they really extrapolate on the otherwise simple structure of the album version. love this.

  • good song to listen to in the morning.

  • Reminds me of the Velvet Underground, alot.

  • They're playing Sydney tonight and Melbourme Thursday (Sadly, I'll be at Elbow)

  • I have like a stupid idea. Make sick music.Tour to all festivals. Meet her backstage, and make love to her everyday . I told you it was stupid :)

  • just like the velvet undergraund

  • good idea with the fan

  • what a beautiful state we're in ♥

  • I WANT HER SHOES ....

  • @03bryony You know the shoes' brand?

  • @Bonnieacall Dior Homme (Hedi Slimane) gold boots :) lovely, aren't they?

  • @theotherspice I LOVE !!!!

  • @Bonnieacall no, but i want to !

  • as if they where on 4music they're too good for them haha!

  • jesus...I love this.

  • What kind of drum machine is that?

  • her voice is out of this world. and i'm completely in love with this band.

  • OMG. No less than 5 golden stars !

  • Hopefully that is just a joke...

  • i think i love her

  • P E R F E C T

  • LA LA LA VELVET, UN - DER - GROUND

  • omg

    <3

  • This is such a pretty version, her voice is soaring.

  • i think its meant to be out of tune. Have you heard We Carry On by Portishead? that has an out of tune guitar in it

  • I really want to like this video because I love this song but his guitar is so out of tune it just hurts... bummer.

  • omg. i cant wait to go see them already!

  • Plagiarism it's exactly the same rythms and chords as the Velvet Undergrounds... They haven't created anything, just revisited what already existed

  • Comment removed

  • @TheOstenberg Erm, maybe somewhat revisited but plagiarism? Hardly.

  • @TheOstenberg fuck off and go trolling to justin bieber music instead.....the kills are real music, maybe they revisited, but its called ''influence''.... xD

  • abbey road sessions are awsome...

  • As much as this video just made my day because of how obsessed I am with the kills:) Hes soooooooo out of tune on starting on that solo on 1:19

  • So velvet undergroundish!

  • I love the connection they have with one another. I was really worried for a while that Dead Weather would put a huge tamper on The Kills but the new album is finished and I can't wait!!!!! LOVE THEM!

  • @Tstrbw666 oh yeahhh April 4th...I'm beyond excited for the new album & tour!

  • @theotherspice same :)

  • i like the way they keep their melodies simple yet awesome

  • wow this is fucking incredible.

  • I definitely prefer them to the dead weather

  • @crunchies987 I agree...these two have a better connection and you can really feel it in their music <3 not to worry though, apparently there should be a new Kills album in 2011

  • @crunchies987 I don't agree, The Dead Weather has much more anger and feeling than The Kills, i like them both, but i think compare The Kills with TDW is like compare a poem with sex, yes, both are love, but in different ways.

  • For this mp3 click to everymp3rip doht cohm.

  • there is something so special about this band.I mean i love the dead weather but to me it's not the same...the kills are so unique.

  • it´s wonderfull !!!! I love it <3

    Goodnight another bad morning :)

  • I wish she would make more music with him rather than Jack White.

  • love her guitar. and his, for that matter.

  • i love this song. I think it's better than the studio version.

  • @YesOtter check out the "live in the basement" version, oh so good.

  • @YesOtter I like the irony, Abbey Road is possibly the most famous studio in the world.

    Anyway, I agree.

  • ohhh myyy gooood amazing!!

  • holy shittttt

ladies and gentleman, this performence has that "sumthing" I only had seen in velvet underground gigs or bands like that

i'm glad bands like this and the white stripes took care of rock n roll last decade

hope this one gets better and no more popy-sound-like

  • Allison Mosshart :D

    genuis both of them

  • They play so well!

  • been waiting for this performance forever! love them

  • Anyone know what guitars they're playing?

  • @BiscuitsJoe

    They play old HÖFNER guitars,

His is a model "175" or "176" (ca. mid 70s)

Her guitar is a "Verythin 4575" (ca. 1967)

I've got a Höfner guitar myself, wich love very much (very nice sound)...

    hofner.com

  • @ibatonio Thanks a bunch.

  • @ibatonio What about his guitar sound at the end? What do you think he's using for that sound? I've tried phasers, filters, erry-thing... I got close with some delay, filter and phase.. And jacked-up reverb.

  • @BiscuitsJoe I'm sure that is Hofner HCT Galaxie, I always play on that guitar in my music shop ;)

  • It took 3 seconds to fall in love with Alison (2:40-2:43 if anyone's interested)

  • @artistsandbox I must have listened to this 30 times since posting that. . new favorite song!

  • just a little crush at 4:23

  • Enjoying one of the moments when u're the only person from anyone u know that can truly appreciate a musician..My favorite guitarist alongside Jack White

  • i love this so much. thanks for posting. their chemistry is incredible.

  • How did Jamie do that?

  • sounds like a pitch shifter or something

  • for that organ-like sound jamie uses two (!) EHX poly octave generators

  • F*cking awesome!!! Been a long, long time since I've been amazed with guitar music. System of a Down's "Chop Sue" was the last time. Eveything else is usually more like been-there-done-that-2-out-of-a-million.

  • waayyy better than the studio version!

  • Does anyone know what drum machine they use?

  • @VMYeahVN i think they used to use an alesis HR-16 alongside an alesis MMT-8 sequencer, not sure if they changed that now though, i have the HR-16 and the sounds are the same, hope that helps

  • Incredible!!! Goosebumps!!

  • I loove this video. They are soo amazing.

  • hahaha Jamie at the end ''SMOKE!''

    yay to chain smokers :)

  • XDDD

  • yay!!

  • Alison is my lesbian crush. She's gorgeous. And I love it when she starts smiling at the end. You know she's lovin it.

  • i love Jamie, his voice <3

  • Thank you soooooo much for posting these up...

  • this is epic.

  • Obvious inspiration by Velvet Underground. I'll bet Lou Reed likes this band. Musicians aren't generally as petty as their fans.

  • this song makes me happy when I'm sad

it picks me up from the ground <3 <3 <3

  • shuddup

  • Thank you for the vid (and in such high quality!). It made my day.

  • The Velvet Underground are responsible for a lot of music, the most important band of all time, disagree then discus.....

  • nah

  • i wouldn't say THE MOST IMPORTANT. what about Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Rolling Stones and a couple hundreds more then? definitely the Velvet Undeground were part of that series of bands that evolved music and spread inspiration and style teachings, but not the only ones, nor the most important

  • This song reminds me of The Velvet Underground's Sunday Morning.

  • That's exactly what I thought when I heard this song the first time :-D

  • hell that's good

i remember the time i met them :-)

  • OMG

  • i hugged alison and talked to jaimie he was lovely...their set rocked so i was so amped up and just went over to them at the bar afterward.

  • wow! lucky

  • no way is this version better than the studio one, are you mad? This version would be better if only she sang.

  • Oh My God! sorry but

you've got no idea about great music...

  • Really, how many times have you seen the Kills?

I've seen them twice you Fucktard.

  • sometimes i think i'm the only one who knows about the kills, but then i see posts here and i realize that i'm not.

  • @Eri05Sunshine I know what you mean. Like The Dead Weather and the White Stripes, you really don't hear much radio play out of them, and it's rare you hear anything about them from others.

Until they catch on, enjoy this indulgent little secret, because when they're found out, they could face ruin. Just look at the Yeah Yeah Yeah's over the past year or so...

  • @Eri05Sunshine yeah I used to feel the same. Except everyone around me now knows of the kills because I've done some serious fan recruiting for them:)

  • @Eri05Sunshine ..hahahahha!!! definetely NOT!! :) :) :)

  • I can't stop watching/listening to this.

Do you have the mp3...? or even better the whole set? =]

  • I haven't heard this song, what album is it from? Midnight Boom? I haven't gotten a hold of that one.

This song is beautiful, and the quality is amazing.

    They're so talented!

  • Why do I love them so much?

  • Much Much better than the studio version. Thanks for the post.

  • i wish i could have that much fun

  • fantastic song, they doesn't even need a pick!

    AWESOME!!!

  • Lovely Song!
