Wonderful playing and vefry nice film work, too ... is that an oud hanging on the wall behind? I play concert guitar and oud as well. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Great. And I'm not a classical guitarist. I enjoyed the shortness and pinchedness of your playing, I enjoyed the lack of reverb and how you did slam the guitar like the video response. Perfectly 'tight'. Interesting...I would imagine others would play it more 'flowing'...naaahh. This is cooler. Hey, what kind of mic did you use?
great piece and very well played. the bagatelles are easily some of the best, most interesting and most idiomatic guitar music written by a non-guitarist composer (well, actually i'm only guessing WW was not a guitarist). This makes me want to learn that piece. Nice job.
William Walton wasn't a guitarist, but Walton consulted with Julian Bream throughout the compositional process in order to make these Bagatelle the idiomatic guitar masterpieces they are today. I think the combination of a composers limitless creativity and a guitarists practical input was crucial to giving each of these pieces their unique and beautiful character.
Kontakion, you have no right what so ever to completely blast someones posts. Have some respect! If you've seen any of waitswatchers videos you will know that he is an extremely accomplished musician and his technique is superb. As he said, whats the point in playing a piece the way 500000 others have played it? Get out of your classical rut and appriciate music for what it is, an expression of the soul.
Superb playing - why would you make an exact copy - you have to put something of yourself into the playing otherwise it is without soul. Keep going WW. There are many more people who appreciate your sounds greatly than those who seek to belittle them.
No hagas caso a estos "eruditos" que creen saberlas todas, ademas si Carlevaro te dijo bien es mas que suficiente adelante, a mi me gusta, porque no le copias a nadie

I thought I had forgotten all my Spanish! :)) I haven't!
Why all these staccatos, ridiculus and bad vibratos and uncontrolled tempo rubato? You are just destroing the rhytm and caracter of the piece. Needs more practising, more tone controll and you need to check the score (the one that you have written all over) and play as it is written. Who is the great composer, you or Walton? Interpreting is NOT the same as rewriting the entire piece.
I finished my exam in 1994,did lots of other music since then and lost nearly all of my classical repertoire. This is just one of the tunes I play temporarely. If you dont like it - fine. I dont care.
It is not meant to be a definite interpretation.
btw/ you have some Carlevaro videos amoung your favourites; he was quite pleased by my version back in the days...

I can only guess what you are saying, but...:
Speaking spanish for a guitar player is as needful as having a driving licence for a blind man's dog.

Sounds like somebody is jealous of not being able to play this piece.
How long have you been working on it?
Waitswatcher, your playing is fine. Mighty fine as a matter of fact. Keep it up.

I know this would happen... if you dont play it the same way as 50000 others do, you'll be killed by the e-music mob.
