The next episode, memory jag, jazz piece that I will post should take place on September 16th or 17th. After that, it will probably take place around September 26th to coincide with Irya Gmeiner's World Tour that is taking her from Norway, to Dusseldorff, Germany, Moscow, France, and Brooklyn, New York before winding up at her home country of Stockholm, Sweden.
I am thankful for so many world - class musicians who have allowed me to use their music in this initial segment of "HUM."
A sincere note of appreciation for Tony Smith of Pittsburgh for the rousing opening title credit music, " 1 Love Bullet," and Fly AND Rick Williams of Williams & Williams' music, "The Coming of the Time" for the ending credit music. Originally, I had planned to use "The Coming of the Time" for the opening of the HUM episodes; however, the flavor of the music ties in closely with the end of the project rather than the beginning. In the future, I might go back to using it at the beginning
The music by L PERRY of the U K is timely, poignant, and sets the style of the men working and happy to have a job in which their skills make them who they are in society. In a sense, this film is my ode to the working men of the world. I spent a goodly amount of time speaking with the crew as they went about their business of repairing outdated telephone poles that had been in place since Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Presidency in 1932. This year, 2009, represents light years of change.
The moving, heart wrenching song by my Friend, Irya Gmeiner of Stockholm, Lund, Sweden sets up the dilemma of the main character, HUM, and also the dichotomy of conflicts that beset KATALIST as he leans against a tree in Hollywood and humanity seems to be passing him by. Whether he solves his demons depends a great deal on how he perceives reality and acts upon his new knowledge. Perhaps HUM helps him, perhaps not. We will see relationship between the two men . MOM is crucial in story
I inadvertently deleted your comment. There is much symbolism and abstract expressionism that is present in this opening episode that I will further develop as the "HUM, On the Path" series develops throughout 2012. Much has to do with setting the **international grapevine** word of mouth. The " T " of the telephone represents the first letter of my name, " T " and it also suggests the symbolism of the Cross that one bears in life. The grill and the grotto, too.
nice to see you as well, my Friend. Thank you. I'm aiming to develop certain themes further as HUM moves along. Specifically, the motorcycle, the lemons, the telephone pole to symbolize the rapid transmission of data, ala a **grapevine worldwide** of sorts. I had a fantastic time speaking with the workers. I learned much more about the generation and transmittal of electricity. All this seques nicely into the next HUM upcoming, IChoseTheRedPill. Thank you, T
This represents a LOT of work. I had planned to go in another direction with the music and found that the existing music dictated to me where it would be placed. All turned out well. I am pleased. I thought that the judicious use of bird, hummingbird, and motor hum might have filled in the blank spots; on the other hand, the silences caused one to reflect on the lyrics of the song as the workers did their jobs. I liked the placement of all of the music selections. T
