Are you really going to let the opinions of some metalheads who don't know much about actual music convince you that metal isn't talented? To be honest, some genres of metal--particularly progressive and power metal--are incredibly theory-intensive, and often can be just as complicated as jazz or funk. I'm not saying all metal is like that, though, because some of it is just as simplistic as punk. But a good song to listen to would be The Mirror by Dream Theater--listen to the drummer in that.
Frost is this mans real last name. He didn't steal that name - he was born with it! He is actually not untalented but one of the best funk and jazz drummers in europe. You obviously know nothing about music. So f*ck off and go listen to your beloved boring blast beating and just ignore this video if you don't like it!
Then why the f*ck do all you guys come in here and talk trash about this talented drummer. It is obvious from the video-icon that this has nothing to do with your beloved blast-beater mr. Frost??? It is stupid to give low ratings, just because the video wasn't what you expected! BTW it was the all time jazz great Tony Williams that invented the blast beat - so without jazz you guys would have been NOTHING!
It is not obvious from the video icon. You just read frost drum solo and expect it to satyricon Yes it is stupid to give it low ratings coz its not what you expected thats why i didn't rate it. Also i never mentioned that this drum solo was crap or that jazz is unimportant but satyricon frost could own this guy
Yeah I've seen it several times now and I think his blasts are not all that tight. And his foot work is also a bit sloppy. I have nothing against that type of music, I actually listens to alot myself. I Denmark we are very much aware of the Scandinavian metal scene that we are a part of. Do I have to mention our neighbors from Norway?? :P
