reversing a hash is impossible and wouldn't do any good to get the original data back unless the original data was smaller in size than 160 bits. Maybe for small passwords but not files. The hash only contains 160 bits and therefore a finite number of possibilites (precisely 2^160)
for every bit larger than that you introduce collisions and they go up exponentially for each bit greater than 160 (or whatever hash you're using such as MD5=128)
