You know, at first I thought it was silly with all the Cloverfield references many people made over the numerous videos of this event, but when I think about it, I can understand it.

Middle of the night, big city, mushroom clouds and massive fires brightening the sky, crazy number of sirens going off, people roaming the streets in bewilderment, no news on the event at first.

That would be extremely freaky, and definitely sounds like something from Hollywood.
