Tallulah was bisexual...maried to a man early in her life, with many affairs along the way.
She was a great actress and a fabulous personality. Check her out in the movie LIFEBOAT, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. She was nominated by the Academy for best actress in that picture.
@thadxxx Well, she was definitely quite something at her time. A lot of drinking, smoking, partying, drugs and sex - Her life was full throttle all the way:)
Tallulah was from my hometown of Jasper, Alabama. My family and I used to live down the street from the house she lived in, which is now a Heritage Center.
Considering the alcohol and drug abuse that both Tallulah and Dorothy heaped upon themselves, they both look good in this clip. Unfortunately Dorothy was dead within the year and Tallulah's final acting appearance came the next year in "Batman" two years before her 1968 demise.
3:50 The censors must have bit right through the stems of their pipes -- vomiting rarely came up as a subject on live TV in general let alone WML in particular.
I remember distinctly watching this out in the west at 8:45 p.m. one Sunday night as a 9 year old boy . I had never heard of Tallulah, until I saw her in this appearance when she came on and deliberately camped up her real voice. Classic stuff.
This was the same year Tallulah's "Die, Die! My Darling" was released.

I love the fact that she refers to Dorothy Killgallen as "Dot."

I remember watching WML as a kid. Boy what a stuffy lot those folks were.

Why is it there were people like her THEN, and not NOW? It seems nowadays everyone's so afraid to be different.

Tallulah was, as we say in Australia, 'fair dinkum'. There will never be another TB. How could anyone else be so original.
