  • Oh god bring me back to the pronunciationmanual

  • MO- SHITTTTTTTTTTT

  • Awim Moët Awim Moët

  • i don't get it, is this supposed to be funny? or why are almost all the words mispronounced?

  • Могёт!!! МО-ГЁТ, всем русский язык, пацаны :D

  • It's moh-ey, not moh-et. Thanks for teaching people the incorrect pronunciation. This channel is just fabulous and not at all full of such mispronunciations.

  • @joethulhuz Moët was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët. It became Moët et Chandon in 1832. He was born in France yes, however the name [Moët] is in fact, Dutch. The 'correct' pronunciation is "mo-wett". Even the [French] Chef de Cave of Moët [Benoit Gouez] says "mo-wett".

  • Моё Т! И мой родной русский алфавит!

  • these are great. thanks. :)

  • King of Zora's Domain

  • Okay, let's clear this up. The "t" IS pronounced because that is how the French, the Company, and Claude Moët himself pronounced it. He was French, but his last name is Dutch. In Moët & Chandon you pronounce the "t" in Moët, but not the "t" in "et" (& in French) so it's moe - et (as in jet) ay shah-DAUH. Leave the "n's" out. Sure this pronunciation takes out the French accent, but it is an American English approximation. Say, "mo-et ay shah-dauh" from now on and know what you are talking about.

  • @Ugotpwned66

    Mow it and Chan Don.

    Got it.

  • @Iateamexican Wrong, retard.

  • So uh this one's got the uh, dots on the E there, so that's uh moteee

  • mow-eee

  • lol this isnt even the piss take channel and its still wrong

  • I would pronounce it mo-ay. I don't mind if you think I am wrong because the voices in my head tell me I am right.

  • She keeps her Moët et Chandon in a pretty cabinet...

  • This is wrong. It is actually pronounced MWET. But that's just pretentious like @pronunciationbook so lets stick with Mo-ey...

  • moat

  • @peteyvx12...yeh I'v been up all night and should be in bed but I too can't seem to stop watching frigging pronunciation videos. I think I'm looking for one even funnier than coccyx or Pho...

  • Thumbs up if you think 9gagers are scum!

  • @ThePwnageHobo Yup.

  • @ThePwnageHobo why???

  • @ThePwnageHobo thumbs down it is.

  • moatee

  • This isn't pronounciationmanual -.-

    This sucks.

  • I don't think you pronounce the "t" actually... It's French, right?

  • @BrittOlinder The "Moet" part is actually a French word, but rooted in Dutch, so yes you do have to pronounce the "t". So even though the "Chandon" is pronounced like how you would in French, the "Moet" is different. (:

  • GOD FUCKING DAMN 9GAG.Cocksuckers.

  • Comment removed

  • It's a dutch name, not french, so it's pronounced more like: 'mwet'. That is, add a 'm' to the word wet.

  • Motey

  • Moët is a Dutch name, not French. He kinda pronounces it right.

  • @MrAronymous are you dutch?? cuz I'm dutch and that e isn't dutch but german

  • @janvoslos

    Wikipedia > Trema.

    Hope you're trolling.

    Have a good life.

  • @MrAronymous haha merry christmas :)

  • Wow, I think a whole bunch of French people just punched their screens with how bad and inaccurate that was.

  • @Bazajt I fucking did !

  • Silent T you fool

  • @TheJamesMeisterX He's correct, you fool. Despite being a French company, the origins of the name are Dutch. Hence it is not "mo-way", it is "mo-wet".

  • im a poet and i didnt even moet

  • fuck pronounciationbook I'm going to PronounciationManual :D

  • Robot_Puke.mp3

  • dude it's french you don't say the "t" there is no such thing as an american pronunciation, only ignorance

  • @zhbroder You do pronounce the 't'. Moët is a Dutch, not a French family name.

  • @zhbroder

There's no ë in French. Like the other guys said, it's a Dutch name.

  • @bwillsher

Not to sound pedantic... "ë" exists in french. It was more common in older french but it is still used in a few words. The name Moët in the champagne region dates back to the 1300's, and it literally meant in old french "the one who pulls a face".

  • @BOOMER751 Fair enough, you have a reference though?

  • @bwillsher

Youtube doesn't allow links :s But check evenite.fr, it Explains that the moët family was ennobled in 1446. As for the story of the family name, it's referenced in 'histoire de la champagne" by Maurice Crubelier

  • .....correct american english pronunciation of the FRENCH winery....so you're saying it the french way (or at least you're trying to). not the american way.

  • This channel has no credibility with all its incorrect pronunciations. Makes you wonder why he bothers...

  • If you take a tour of the Moet Chandon winery in Napa - they will tell you to pronounce the T because Moet is Dutch, not French.

  • aww the comment's that took me here from 9gag is removed :(

  • Moët desu

  • Mullet, mullet, mullet.

  • Mo- ett is the good prounounciation

  • Comment removed

  • There should be less "o" and more "t" in your pronunciation ;)

  • @19MJJ =$

  • Don't you just LOOOOVE when Americans (and yes, I am one too) -decide- to take a clearly foreign word that most definitely has a -specific- pronunciation in a language that has been established for centuries, fuck it up, and THEN post amazingly misinformed, arrogant, INCORRECT SHIT LIKE THIS? Yeahhh... me too. =[ =[ =[

  • The T is silent, because its french, the t would be silent unless there was an e after it

  • Saw this on tumble and laughed my ass off at @Dincorta comment LOL

  • @MrRazzeldazzel88 A friend of mine used to work in a specialist wine shop, and had to do a course which included correct pronunciation. I can assure you, in this case, he is 100% correct

  • Dudes, just ask the company: KVp23gZprA4

  • penis

  • Mo' eh?

  • no it sounds like mo eet..

    dumb fucking FAG.

  • if you can't pronounce it yourself you shouldn't tell people this is the way to do it...

  • @milootje007 it's named after its (Dutch) inventor. If it were a french word you'd be right. Mo-ay is a common mispronunciation which this video is addressing.

  • @sahrchitect ... I am from belgium and speak both french and dutch fluidly... besides, most of his pronouncements of french and german origin words are wrong..

  • Moe moe kyun

  • I think it's actually prononced mo - ay

  • @unidentified555 it's names after its (Dutch) inventor. If it were a french word you'd be right. Mo-ay is a common mispronunciation which this video is addressing.

  • so this ones got the dots on the "e" there ITS MODY!!!!

  • "oh for pete's sake this ones got the dots over the e"

  • its pronounced as its spelt, at least thats how the people who make the stuff say its pronounced

  • It's met

  • It's "Mwet"

  • there is no correct "american-english" pronunciation of a french word! This is evil!!!!

  • @bodger747 it's called "accent".

  • Mo-ett. /thread

  • you would pronounce this word without making the "t" sound at the end. This video pronounciation is terrible!

  • @LaPersonaNonGrata shut up meg

  • @LaPersonaNonGrata you're wrong. Look it up before making an ass of yourself.

  • @sahrchitect You call me an ass yet you offer no alternative! How is it pronounced then, linguist specialist!?!

  • @LaPersonaNonGrata exactly as it's pronounced in the video. Not a "linguist specialist" as you sarcastically accuse - just someone who has bothered to look it up.

  • @LaPersonaNonGrata just google "Moet pronounced" and load the first hit for a full article written by someone who's bothered to do some fact finding. If you're sure enough to make a comment like "This video pronounciation is terrible!" (it's spelled "pronunciation", for future reference) then at least be fucking CORRECT.

  • @sahrchitect Fine dude, but take it easy, man - its just a word. Wow!

  • @LaPersonaNonGrata you're the one who felt compelled to make a comment in the first place. I merely corrected you, and called you on the ass that you so obviously are, man.

  • AAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

    AAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

    AAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

    AAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

You are murdering the French accent!

  • y do theser vids have so many dislikes? i mean it does everything its supposed to tell u how to pronouce the word

  • @SnoopyBlexican Except the pronounciation (pronounced "pronunciation") - is incorrect!

The problem is that French has many sounds that just do not exist in English - for this reason many English people ,who believe they have correct pronounciation, have in fact incorrect pronounciation.

If you are publishing the correct manner in which to pronounce French on youtube - then you have a responsibility to get this correct - or get corrected by others...

  • @jagara1 pronunciation is both spelled and pronounced pronunciation though...

  • Why do so many people think that the pronunciation in the original language has anything to do with what is correct in American English?

  • @trlkly blurp squeak pladdle priddle blarp!

Now I am sure you understand what I just said...

  • @trlkly That's not even an English word, let alone an American English one. That's like saying bonjour can have and American English accent...

  • But Moet is a French name. That's like someone taking your name and pronouncing it completely differently and saying that is the correct pronunciation.

  • @samdeval it's not a french name, it's dutch

  • Yeh try it dutch :p

  • Moe ? XD

  • it's mo-ay u idiot. research.

  • more like BLEH!

  • Awim moet, ahwim moet, ahwim moet, ahwim moet, iiin the jungle, the mighty jungle....

  • SO MOE

  • gimme that mo-*plays video*-wet gimme that crys-crystal-tal.

  • Moët is a family name, therefore not subject to the pronunciation rules of modern French. Many Old French words do enunciate the final consonant, and Moët is trés française ancienne.

  • mo-et. oh my fucking god.... it's a silent t retard!

  • @leisurelydinner

    its not

  • @kalamarusffm i think you'll find it is
