Oh man. The shakey lemon is the 6th member of the band. I love that thing. Amazing song, amazing version. It was the second song played the other night at Outside Lands. Fucking phenomenal.
And yo did the the dust and waves accumulate until they setteled and we were left with only light. The same light which takes years to get from here to there riping and testing the fabric of space-time until it bends in from the gravity of it's own demise.
Then as the story goes the light did become the flowers which now bloom only during the season as if time had something to do with it. Ha, ha, time, said the specked lizard clown in the circus of life which was displayed as if in a Tiffany's desert dish.
But the light became the flower much like the flowers of a solar system- the planets blooming on perrenially. And this process did continue in reverse in the paradox of infinity.
And from within the earth came the devil in the form of steam which gave life to the illuminated gas of cosmic dimensions and all the creatures from without were dissapointed at the manner in which the moon did set because of the constraints it place up the former planet pluto which exists and dances along the fringes of our solar system. Then all the life which existed from without came to settle within.
Puff daddy sprinkles snow on a shimmering blanket of dust which becomes a kaleidoscope in a mind full of foam from the atmosphere of jupiter spinning behind the sun in a ocean bigger than space and a whale called the human race fliping and diping until the dragon fly whispers loosing its wings and disintegrates into the dirt and sand from whence it came.
I think the best part of this entire song is the ending jam. It shows they all love what they're doing, regardless of whether some douchebag on youtube will claim this isn't music or some other lamer will claim its ungodly. Whatever it is, I personally like it.
Radiohead invented jazz and the lightbulb what a career they've had nobody even thought they would get past the auditions for X-factor well simon cowell eat your heart out I knew sharon osbourne would see the talent in them. I mean she saw it in Ozzy osbourne,oh wait, what?
you chums gotta buck it up, Radiohead isn't changing the face of music, but in a world where musical progresion is becoming ever so slight, a song like reckoner is brillant simply because its use of minimalisim. sure some other band coulda made it. maybe you could've, but you didnt, nor could you. and until the day you come up with a song like idioteque go bark up another tree, your argument is a misunderstanding, so is your musical prowess.
Someone could film radiohead burping into a microphone and you dueches would line up to say "OMG! I've NEVER, heard of burping like that before! What holy village of genius did these blechers come from?"...if this song was on a local band's myspace site from your hometown, not only wouldn't you think it's brilliant, you may not even listen to it all the way through.
Slitheringinterstate, you simply fail to recognize true talent. If this song was on a local bands myspace, I would seriously be impressed. It's professionally put together, with the aid of musical theory, pure emotion and the love of good music. It's being delivered perfectly. And those are some really professional vocals. To be that good, they'd be WAYYY more than a local band.
You simply fail to understand certain things, no hard feelings.

Didn't John Frusciante come up with about 20 variations of this riff like, 15 years ago? And didn't Paul's Boutique come up with about 20 variations of Phil's drumming around the same time? Ummm...yea guys...this song is real "revolutionary"...i....uhhh...never heard anything like it..uhh...before.
I agree that the latest album "in rainbows" is not to be considered revolutionary, but I also don't think that's what Radiohead wanted to do with it.
"in Rainbows" is simply a masterclass in music lectured by Radiohead who show what they can do within slightly traditional song structures......and it's pure magic
A band with this much talent who have been playing together for 20 full years should not be disregarded......they are simply the best band in the world today
It depends in what aspect. I dont thinkk anyone can deny that he adds exactly what radiohead needs when it comes to percussion and drums. However, skill, technicality, and even creativity are areas where he isnt too strong.
oh im quite aware of the bands overall creativity. Im not a massive Radiohead fan so I havent heard all of their songs, but out of the ones that I have (which is a fairly decent amount) Phil doesnt seem too creative
This is NOT a live version of the song. It's just the album version wiht the band playbacking or somebody smartly dubbing the audio over videoclips. Maybe the first showing of the videoclip for this song since it will be the first single?
this is one of the greatest tracks in 2007... and one of the greatest Thom Yorke vocals live... Phil's livedrums are just pure genius... and love Thom Yorke solo on the guitar...

Actually, I think it's a bit freaky to call the shakey lemon the 6th member of the band. =P Yesterday Thom woke up sucking the 6th member? Dude o_O

one has to mention the beats. polyrhythms are cool. phil selway is an awesome drummer, disciplined yet grooving.
i hear an afro-latin influence.
that being said, this song could use more cowbell.
