  • for you a thousand times over

  • 1:40 while the rest of the world was going through an industrial revolution, afghanistan had just discovered the kite

  • YEA ASIANS BROUGHT KITE FLYING

  • too good.

  • I miss kite flying!

  • Its nice to see Afghan Air Force at its Fullest.

  • Kite strings are routinely sharpened with glass shards, or made of metal in the Subcontinent and Afghanistan. These cause numerous injuries, deaths, and financial losses and problems by cutting power lines.

The kites ruling is also in effect in Lahore (Pakistan), for the simple reason that they are a hazard.

  • the kite have the afghan flag' color, zendabad afghanistan.

  • zendabad afghanistane ziba .

man arezoo daram yek roozi betavanam afghanistan ra az nazdik bebinam !

  • yes, I wish the same.

  • Great Video Thanks!

I Miss Kite flying in my country, It reminds me of that time, when I was flying the kite and my fingers were bloody from the sharp string. Nice :)

  • Isn't there another part after a kite gets cut the kite runners chase the falling kite and claim it as a prize?

  • You should be glad you even have a closet. Some do not even have a closet.

  • I feel really sorry 4 these people. When there is no jobs, no educations, no sports and no hope for peace but there is some sort of entertainment for these old kids who are hoping that Kite will bring peace to their Country.

What a shambolic history & not sure how long this stupidity will last in this country.

    - Thanks India for introducing hope to Afghans

Thanks Pakistan for destroying it Especial thanks goes to the Russian and USA for making my country your battle ground.

    Piss on Peace

  • haha, "I lost!"

  • I Miss my country and I love kite flying, It is really fun.... Peace...

  • This awesome. All sports have injuries both small and large. It's part of the game. Accept it and have fun!

  • rogeta, unfortunately this isnt a regulated sport. I've lived in these places and i've seen little 5 year olds being injured by the glass laced strings. There have been deaths in some extreme cases.

  • didnt the taliban kill those who flew kites?

  • not anymore. talibans are stupid thats why.

  • i luv my country! =]

  • Your sarcasm is uncalled for. I am not a taliban supporter if thats what you're thinking. But i do try to stand for unbiased reporting. Google 'basant lahore injury', you might get a feel of what competitive kite flying is all about.

  • Why do you comment on this video so much? You're kind of annoying... Putting everyone down... >.>

  • can't you just shut up, if you have nothing nice to say, than just don't say anything

  • Beautiful

  • It's still heartwarming to see people enjoying something as simple as paper and wind.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • By the way why is the child bleeding? Kite is suppose to be harmless fun unless you live in Indonesia during rain season.

  • or unless youre into fierce kite flying where you lace your kite threads with shattered glass and then children cut their hands and fingers. google it all up.

  • whay whay ???????????

  • the simple pleasures in life .... you know what days end this is what the world is all about

.... people who get along with one another

  • Now how about some dark facts about kite flying, which were the initial reasons the taliban banned kite flying. Due to the fierce competition people user strings laced with shattered glass to make it stronger and give the string cutting 'teeth'. That strings often cuts fingers and hands. In many cases there have been little kids with their necks torn apart by the strings. This isnt your average day in the park kite flying.

  • Err, is this true? I find it hard to believe.

  • see how the child's finger is bleeding. thats just the tip of the iceberg

  • Where in the name of Allah do you get this info from?

  • we are afghan... this is afghan tradition

i've fought kites all the time. nd have had serious cuts on my fingers.

  • By the way is it true that kites in Afghanistan uses wires instead of string?

  • no they are strings, but they have ground glass and coat it on the string with glue

  • Thank you!
