Its not an easter egg its a way to get that radio thats sitting in there for the "Receiving Transmissions" achievement. You just pick the radio up and get it close to the finish line of the level

Not an easter egg. If you'd looked down, you'd have found an Apeture science radio, which you need to pick up and take to a certain location to unlock and achievemant.

This was part of an update Steam installed (without permission - scary) into existing versions of the game to promote the viral birth of Portal 2

Not an easter egg just a mistake in making the game they found this out while testing so they added GLaDOS dialoge and an escape hatch... you can do this in other chambers as well. If you do it too much it wont work anymore D:

She isn't exactly nice. To her, you are a rat in a maze, and is putting you through tests to see how well the portal gun does in the hands of people. She repeatedly tries to kill you, which may or may not be a part of the test, and then tries to cook you alive when you finish the test, which may also be part of the experiment.

Also, she talks about the cake because you are it. Once you finish, she tries to bake you ^_^

If you've seen portal prelude you'll also notice that one of the two lab asisstants is evil and attempts to kill you. Notice that throughout both of the Test mazes, there is indications of others, indications that the cake is a lie. They do treat you like rats, but somehow you are different... why is it that when you die you come back... in Portal Prelude, note a splattered remains at the end... eww... The reason why GLaDOS becomes evil is because they launced her without the morality core...
