  • The cage is way to small miss expert, the first lesson is where to put youre iguana to..dumpass

  • I know how people are saying this is bad and dont smack it,Trust me i cringe when that happens. But she has a point. Like cats some try to show their dominat side out and all you have to do is show them whos boss but not where to injure the poor thing. If you dont do this they will continue their behavoir and soon you just dont have a good pet anymore in which you can just be kind to since they think they are the boss. But once they snap out of that stage thats when you stop hittin softly.

  • As I said before, This is one of the worst iguana videos I ve ever seen in my life. People, please, do not listen this material. Its wrong as hell.

  • lmfao, she makes it sound like the iguana charging you, or "threatening" you is like a bear doing that.

  • she cant do that it might get injured

  • Did I listen it well? She said the alfa male??????????????? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Youtube should erase this kind of videos

  • please can someone check if my iguana is healthy? /watch?v=8CWFd7bMOgw

  • I Love To Whack My Lizard Daily! lol

  • PLEASE RELEASE THE IGUANA IN THE WILD.

  • first off does her iguana look abused....No...its training she didnt say take the broom handle and whack it.(but thats the reason I dont play with lizards.

  • this is stupid

  • The coming from above thing is wrong too but the alpha male thing is still true

  • dumb shits u always lift from underneth him so he doesnt feel like your a predator(like a bird, which is pretty much why they have that 3rd eye)

  • Yeah, dropping the iguana's ego will definitely make it like you.

  • Wacking and chasing will only turn a defensive animal more to the aggresive side. If you want to tame your iguana sit by the enclosure more often so it gets use to you. Once the iguana stops freaking out, you could maybe start to gently pat him. If your worried about getting bitten u could always get a pair of bite proof gloves from pet shops.

  • DOES SHE KNOW WHAT SHE'S DOING??? even guppy will die from her dumbness

  • so you want me to wack my effing iguana??

  • @ExplosiveDonuts I know once they reach a certain size they need more space then what most vivs can offer but still I'm pretty sure when they are the same size as the one on the video you ain't supposed to use chicken wire. Stop me if I'm wrong but can't they hurt them self on chicken wire??

  • @ExplosiveDonuts Ok I don't own an Iguana (I'd really love to though) so am I right in saying it looks like this women doesn't even have the right sort accommodation for her Iguana? I thought they were supposed to be housed in glass vivarium's?

  • that iguanas gonna die of brain damage watch

  • yeah u dont know anything about iguanas.

  • @ExplosiveDonuts I've had iguanas before, sometimes they can be aggressive. As she plainly states in this video: use the SOFT end GENTLY and only to assert dominance because you don't want to hurt the animal. Do you people not understand the words coming out of her mouth?

  • I love how all this chick's Iguana vids have more dislikes than likes. XD

  • Training an iguana doesn't involve whacking it! When you buy one you should leave it for a while. Make the lizard get used to you changing it's food and water on a daily basis. Do this for about 2 weeks so your not rushing into things. Then you are ready to pet him. Gently stroke there backs or their neck. Do this for another few weeks for about ten minutes a day or every other day.

After your iguana becomes used to you, pick him up from his belly by sliding your hand under him then with your o

  • Alpha male...since when are iguanas heirachy animals...pffft expert village my ass..

Wacking and iguana will only make it more agravated. You should hold it every day for a bit maybe feed it a treat...

  • what wack a iguana omg you shou not work there they are gentle you can hert them

  • Wack the iguana ? Are you mad woman ? How about i play some whack-a-chick with you ?

  • ok so ur not suppose to grab them from behind because that is when they could get agressive because they cannot see you ... ur not suppose to scare them .... -_- if u reach directly over him and grab him by the neck he'll get pissed off ....

  • If the iguana bites down on you or other pets, cover his or her for that matter (males are generally the problem iguanas) and slowing unlock his jaws. If the iguana gets to out of control you can gently press hiss snout down and he will go into submission. This is how male iguana dominate each other in the wild.

  • If you are going to make an educational video about iguanas you should first do some research. Iguanas are not dogs and have no concept of being the alpha male. They can be very territorial and can be aggressive, however, you should never hit the iguana. If the iguana charges you, you best get out of his way or throw a towel over him. Once he can't see he will calm down.

  • dont abuse the iggy mine was a bich i jus handled her and now shes a sweet pea! fuckin expert my ass

  • Why would you smack the iguana.... animal abuse??? wtf?? you FAIL! you should just leave the iguana alone if its not happy to see you!!!

  • This woman should not have iguanas!

  • I was hit with a broom before so I want to know which end is the soft end?

  • That is a rabbit cage.

  • my iguana loves me and yours doesnt hahahahaha and what animal doesnt like to feel supported lol

  • i got charged by my monitor lizard once in my hall way, he must of got out of the cage in the cellar duing the night, any way i opened the cellar door to toss some rats in for it to eat and he charged my, i tried to make it to end of the hallway where i kept the broom fot such occasions but i couldnt make it, luckyly the gun cabinet is situated halfway down my hall and it was open...so i loaded up the shotty and blowed the ungratful reptilian motherfuckers head the fuck off....whooooo whaaaa

  • @HOMEnHIGH I'm sorry this is the best sarcastic reply ever.

  • well you see the monitor lizard and my cat were great friends, they had bonded (one of thoes animal things),so you can imagine that the cat took offence to the site that befell him when he wandered in from the yard, he was so perturbed he spat out the sparrow he was carrying in his jaws and began to set about me in full hissing battle cat fashion, in order to deter any more of this behaviour i nailed him to the wall and singed his fur with a zippo lighter...

    Hi im from expert village...

  • Dang crazy lady you don't wack dumbo

  • what the hell "Wack" the iguana

  • PLZ ANSWER THIS!!! i just ordered an iguana! did i make a bad choice?? will it be aggressive? how can i prevent this?! plz help!

  • @DirtAllianceGurl69 lolwut? Either you made a mis-click (which i doubt) or you ordered one without doing the research. If the first option in correct: Contact the breeder/try to give it away. If the second option: lolwut?

  • @Platychidnapus got my iguana and hes a sweety. this makes em look bad.

  • @DirtAllianceGurl69 Well I see this comment is a month old so I'll just ask. Did you Iguana come in and do you like it?

  • she keeps calling it a log but that is no more than a twig compared to him

  • ExpertVillage is full of Stupid people who "Think" they know about things that they really dont and its really funny listening to this crap they put out there lol... i like to whack her with a broom >.<

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think I'm going to "gently whack" my iguana. Do you realize how much dust and dirt could be in it, and could get under their scales, and possibly get infected?? Yeahh, really expert there.

  • chase a 10 inch iguana around my house?

  • @Bootard3d Lol, yeah right!

  • i just got and iguana about 2 hours ago:)this was real helpfull!

  • @puplover1216 LOL your not serious are you??

  • @bl1nd88 I am serious:) I was happy I got an iguana so I watched videos about them :) lol

  • Everytime i take my iguana out its cage it bitch slaps me with its tail.

  • yes girls even you can be an alfa male

  • As soon as I saw that expertvillage was making this video I said "oh crap".

I literally busted out laughing when she said hit the iguana with a broom.

    LOL

  • lol wack the iguana....

  • theres an overdew call to aspca

  • Must be "opposite day" at expertvillage.

  • idiotvillage

  • h prob scared of you cuz your hit him/her with a broom

  • mine 6 years old , is the only iguana i have seen that is hyper active ! and some time if she get's mad she can be dangerous to people that do not know ! but i still love her <3 !

  • ur supposed to pick them up from the side...? I am correct right?

  • taking it from behind and from up?? wtf lol they think u will attack them then...

  • she had a berded dragon in the same exact tank and why is it on sand????!!

  • why would you hit an iguana (or any animal) if it is angry ?

if its angry then you have clearly upset it , just leave it alone for a while and come back , iguana's are very nice animals and i havnt had one ever try to harm me

  • expert village fals when it comes to commen knowledge who votes we waxk tht bitch with the HARD end of the broom lol

  • HI, I'M FLOM URUGUAY AND I JUST GOT AN IGUANA. SHE'S GOT FUNGUS. THE THING IS THAT SHE'S REALLY DEPRESSED, AND SHE DIDN'T EAT FOR TWO DAYS, SHE SLEEPS ALL DAY LONG, WHAT CAN I DO????

  • @PSYCHOVET91

    take it the vet ?

  • yeah and a professional dresses like that too... like a 14yr old girl who just came from avril livinge concert..

  • haha wack him with the broom

  • Grab him from above my ass.

  • @ExplosiveDonuts Tofu, blagh? What?!? Have you actually tried feeding yours that? OMG, the few Iguanas that i've had went CRAZY for it, i mean to the point that you can't feed it to them by hand. It'd be the first thing they'd go for in a dish full of fresh greens and fruit. It's at least worth a try.

  • @ExplosiveDonuts Feed it tofu and strawberries, and the iguana will be alot friendlier towards you, i gaurantee it.

  • you guys are stupid, she sad lightly hit it with the soft brissles of a broom to show ur in control when it trys to charge you. not full out beat it you stupid cunt scabs

  • really tell him NOO

  • No reptile likes to be handled- some are TOLERANT . Reptiles have no emotion they cannot express affection. The best way to keep your animal tame is to not to handle them. Do not hit your iguana with a broom and chase him. It is not a dog - it does not have memory's of behavior.

  • Whack it with a stick?????? DUMB*ss

  • Me and my brother got Baby Green Iguanas,on friday agust 27,but my brother's iguana is really agressive and he hits you with its tail and it won't allow anybody to touch it or even get it .My dad says its scared but The iguana has been here for a day. Please help me to get the scareness or agressive out of that iguana,Please?

  • first off you never reach over top of your iguana it makes them feel as their being attack due to their number one predator which is certain birds.. second whacking with a broom and chasing them!!! seems to me she wants to make your iguana hate you... their similar to dogs with enough caring and loving attention they'll warm up quickly...

  • hahah this chick looks really funny, but she is smart

  • First of all, Iguanas are arboreal lizards that live high in trees! Those cages are more then likely stressing them out because they are too small. Their cages need to be taller then they are long with plenty of climbing branches. Further more, plenty of handling and human contact from a young age will break them from being a terror as they get older. I highly go against hitting your Iguana with anything! There's not one veterinarian that will condone that type of interaction with your pet.

  • dont ever listen to expert villages' crap. if you want to learn how to care for reptiles and other animals, go to an animal expo near you. the breeders there are the real experts and you can get whatever you need to know.

  • yeah like a kitten.

  • use a broom to back off an iguana?! wtf?! if an iguana is pist off the answer is simple... leave the freaken lizard ALONE!! how many iguanas has this lady whacked to death?

  • @AvengedTimes Exactly. I would think she is only encouraging aggressive behavior. No surprise if the lizards start coming out at night and attacking her in her sleep.

  • you never want to hit an iguana with a broom. that can mess him up, bruise him, or break a bone. that is abuse and can kill the iguana.

  • does this work if i hit a dog with the soft end of a baseball bat?

  • hit the iguana with the soft end of a broom?

  • Wack the Iguana with a broom?

Here's a word of advice, don't listen to this "expert" or any of her reptile videos. I'm not downing Expertvillage (the guy from the pet store is mostly correct on most things), but this lady doesn't know what she's talking about. My favorite video of hers is were she showed a sick beardie in a tiny tank littered with poop, like it was okay or something.

  • The iguana is more good looking then she will ever be !!

  • do not listen to expertvillage they dont know anything....

  • this woman = anorexia too much???

  • personally i think all the people dat bad mouth expert village are just jelous dat they are more superior than than you are! And i dont surpose you lot have notice dat all her animals are alive and well!

  • @Lady6Morgana are you retarted? these people expert village get to tell you about these animals are just stupid yea these animals are alive but there not well maybe the animals that are exrtemly easy to take care of are fine but the more advanced hard to keep animals arent look at the blue tongue skink video the skink has mouth rot the iguana in this vid is in a cage thats to small the same with the moniters, any 1 whos jelous of these people just dont know anything about herps...

  • @Lady6Morgana and these videos need to be taken down because people who dont know anything about these animals who search about them and find these vids will believe them since they dont know what there doing, which is just going to lead to people seeing these animals and saying wow thats cool i want one then they spend a shit load of money on 1 and all the wrong supplies to take care of it and then it ends up dieing

  • @Lady6Morgana Yeah and another guy on youtube has his reptiles on plastic boxes used to store food... But they are alive... So he rocks!

  • you have cancer

  • just wack him lol

  • lol true story man

  • wow you're dumb.

  • i think i cought a baby iguana. I want to keep it and have it as a pet but im not sure if its an iguana :( and its small. I found it (i live in miami fl, today is cold) in the cold and could barely walk it couldnt even try to run away so i cought it and have it in the warmth. I would like to know how little baby iguanas look like to see if it matches the descriptions. And also what should i feed it?

  • firs you should go to exotic vett and talk wit him about it to indentifiey it and iguanas eat fruts and vegitabols

  • @305paintballfreak it could be an anole. thier tiny, but are in the iguana family

  • do they shed there spikes? cuz i just adopted mine from where he wasnt cept up with and his spikes ar all bent and brokem. and the realy big ones up top look like there about to fall off?

  • You absolutely right! Iguanas are up and down herps and need to climb for exersise, properly metabolizing food and over all health. They need to have options of temp ranges to choose from in a very large enlcosure. They climb trees and we need to mimic this in our hubandry as best we can. 4 ft iguana - cage should be as high as your ceiling will allow! or atleast six feet high.Hope people have carpentry skills or extra bedrooms before they purchase iguanas or any lizard that gets "Big"

  • who died and made you dumbasses experts! all your videos are totally crapy! you theach.. toture your pet make it wild and kill it with to much protein.. assholes!

  • specially males...

  • I thought this was expert village ? Where is the expert. The iguana will actually be more defensive toward you as will any lizard if you do that......Oh theirs the bitch with the broom again,Whip! Try that shit with a monitor! If your intention is to show dominance,Your big and placing your hands on him, moving him and controlling him when he has a fit is enough.Usually when their pist you leave them alone, you dont pick a fight with him and throw him a beaten.

  • i did all this 'WillArtInc'' for my iguana when he was dieing and all there videos to help him and now hes green and shiny and awesome so its my opinion i love these tutorials.

  • Listen, all Im saying is this is the wrong person to ask for advise from about the proper husbandry of iguanas. She may have the obvious basics down, iguanas are pretty durable and half of it is crap.I am glad that her basic advise saved your iguana thats what I mean by "durable" to a point. This also shows that you were not even ready for an iguana if he almost died and you needed to rely on her for "just the basics".I have 15 Years experience,or you can just listen to the comments-they tell truth!

  • i agree my iguana has a 6'x4'x3'deep and that cage is gonna need to get biger cause they grow so fast :D i dont think i would hit my iggy in my opinion it would make him more resent you LOL. i have 3 iguana's and to try and tame them is realy hard for me, i have many scratches on my arm from them i clip the tips of their nails but its stil sharp as hell. maybe i should post some vids on my set up and my iggy's,bearded dragon, leopard gecko's, ball pythons, paruvian red tail boa, red ear slider

  • Do iguanas bite?....

  • What if the iguana bites and cause deep wounds???

  • um my guess would probably be go to the hospital!

  • @godzilla2311 It's baby now so i don't have to worry :P

  • thats good...but it will prolly be very jumpy..and wont want to sit still..but you could get lucky

  • ..the soft end of a broom.... or a brick, Nicole? Sorry, but the way she discribed that really could have gone that way. I joke, of course.

  • Whack it? Umm..

  • needs to be taller

  • cage is WAY to small

  • The iguana is still a baby/youngster. The cage is far big enough for now, most people dont want their two foot lizards in an 8 foot tall cage. And this person obviously knows alot about iguanas, so I think theyre probably caring for him just fine =)

  • I bought a female small green iguana and it been a week or 2, and it is still hiding from me, when i enter the kitchen it hide or stop its movement and watch me, its head is getting brownish and sometimes it return green, so how do can i tell her that i am friendly? i put her food in a bowl and leave it for the rest of the day, i want it to be normal like other ig, walk doesnt hide and doesnt whip! Help please.

  • p.s. DON"T PICK UP anywhere close to the tail they can let it go and it breaks off very very easily but usually a clean break you don't do much exept clean the area it will grow back.................raybenz

  • first off that just came out of an egg DON"T HIT A BABY second by the time he or she reachs 6ft. like in 10 yrs they would never bite the hand that feeds them cause there very luving u shouldn't give the wrong info. to the people

  • yes darklord, iguana's change with age. young...really green...older...not so grenn, sometimes even orange. if they are dark ing color...they are too cold. if they are white in color...they are too hot. they will change color with temperature changed almost instantly. they change color throughout the year as well...and throughout the years check out my morphues as myspace . com / morpheusbrown

  • i have one green iguana and it is 2 years old..:)

maybe it is a stupit question but does it change colour when it will grow up??

  • wow, is it just me, or is this flat chested bitch an asshole?

  • my iguana is still scared of me its runs and it whip its tail at me .....

  • wot i found works is to let it sleep where ever it wants leave the tank open block anything it can get in 2 but u will have the problem i have... it wont sleep in its tank but it will let me handle it it doesn't run away anymore or whip just keep talkin to it and offer it food..... put it on ur shoulder and walk round ur house mine likes that i went out side with it and it didn't try to jump off me or anything think we r bonding lol...mine is only 9 month old or so

  • And when i slide my hand between its eyes it whip its tail, so should i keep trying to hold it even if it whip or i should wait till it grow little more?

  • Comment removed

  • I bought an green iguana on 27/8/2009 and when i hold it on my hand it start whiping with its tail its a small iguana and when i return it to the tank it breathe like it is scared, so what can i do to make it nice and friendly?

  • reptile psychology is by far the most mind bending. eating their infants

  • oh look another person on youtube with the same IQ as a 10 year old!

  • i just got a juvinile iguana the other day. He is a little mean, but i think its because he's in a new house.

  • DONT FORGET TO WHACK THEM WITH A FREAKING BROOM. ITS A REALLY GOOD WAY TO TAME ONE. your an idiot

  • i think the iguana has to whack her lol.. you dont do that to them !!! and she knows a lot of them bitch go back to school and whack your self with a sorf or hard broom

  • wow, never heard about slightly whacking an iguana with a broom, i have had an iguana for a while and never had to resort to violence. The tone of her voice sounds like shes reading from a card that someone is holding to tell her what to say. Learn to speak english first before you try to translate information for people that are ignorant to these kinds of things. People rely on your knowledge and this is what you come up with. Get a clue lady.

  • lol whack him long and hard

thats the only way for it to straighting up

    ROFL!

  • i lol'd at "whack the iguana" it was so unexpected, i can't beleive she's an "expert"

  • if you whack the iguana he will not top il will charge even more

  • Bitch! you have to make them get use to you slowly with time.

not Whack them! They are loving creatures and ive not seen any iguana attack you, u just have to approach them in the right way.

  • dont ever whack iguana, they remember it.. just take the control when iguana is "angry" to you..

  • whack the iguana chaing him???? wtf

hi here at expert village we aim to stress and or kill your pets

  • this person is retarted you don't attack the iguana god thats the last thing you want to do you have to become completely non threatening and i don't think wacking your iggy with a broom is going to accomplish that

  • on behalf of expert village........your a dumb ass, u dont know shit lmao!!! WOW. you should chase a lion too!! aha dumb ass lol. get in a fight with a damn aguana lol. bitch

  • man this lady takes the easy way out with all animals!

  • IJo de PUTa!!!!!

  • You...evil sun of a bithc!!!!1

  • Wow, Chiken Wire, Do you know about nose rubbing?....

  • i have two iguanas a male and a female and all of a sudden my male iguana started chasing and biting my female iguana is that normal????????????????

  • Using chicken wire for a cage is not a good idea, they can lose toes like that!

  • Thats the worst set up for an iguana i have seen!!! u no shit, u think "wacking" the iguana will make him want too interact with u in any way.... iguanas rnt dogs so stop givin bull shit info out that could cause for people to harm iguanas u IDIOT!!!!

  • 1: that cage is to small for him for his size he'll need a 3X3X4 cage and don't pick him up like that bird kill them like that

nudge his front legs and he'll prolly crawl on your hand dumbass

  • NEVER pick them up that way because thats how predators would come at them, what you do is slowly bring your hand under them and pick them up but when they freak out just slowly stop but keep your hand there and continue once settled

  • A little harsh there buddy.

Maybe somebody should tell you to go F$#@ yourself.

If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Didn't 1st grade teach you anything? Apparently not.

  • u just owned him there

  • i've heard that tapping him (gently!) with a rolled up newspaper is the best thing.

mine actually enjoys being handled and ive never had to resort to this, though.
