I work at Walmart. They gave me my first job during a bad economy. I had no experience. They took a chance on me. My mom got hired at Walmart after 2 years of unemployment due to raising a newborn child. They took a chance on her. I am at one of the best colleges in the country and Walmart paid my tutition bills. I am greatful for all they have done for my family. But when people hate Walmart, they slander the workers. Don't like it, don't shop there. Even a Walmart employee can figure that out.
..... I bet that at least one person in their family has worked at a grocery store or convenience store at some point in their lives, where they also stock shelves, hang-up clothing and operate a cash register. Apparently anyone who works retail is a monkey, which mainly consists of teenagers and retired folk. This couple is clearly clueless, especially since they both look like they just came home from walmart.
Jesus, I work at Walmart and it isn't anything close to what they said. People complain, b*%ch, and moan about how much it sucks. Honestly, it isn't half as bad as most people think. I worked at Walmart last summer to help put me through college, wasn't my favorite job in the world but I worked and so did everyone else there to get a lot of stuff done. I am not saying Walmart is a saint, by far it isn't but from my experience the people that worked and shopped there were averageAamericans getting by on what they could and I'm sure they'd like to support mom and pop all the time but I'm not going to hold a grudge against anyone who shops at Walmart.
fuck you penn, because you obviously didnt dig deep enough, OR, wallymart paid you a shitload to spread their propaganda. there is nothing good about walmart. they waste extreme ammounts of resources, are grossly inefficient, and poorly managed. the only reason they are so successful, is because they hire poor, old people with bad health, pay them next to nothing, and put life insurance policies out on them.
Pay them next to nothing, really? Maybe at some stores. I use to work at Walmart and there were people on the sales floor making $15.00 an hour. On top of that every 3 months we'd get a $300 profit sharing check. It was my first job so I wasn't making close to $15.00 an hour but I was making good money compared to most other kids in my town. Our store also wasn't poorly managed. It really just depends on where you live, each individual store is different.
I've got to be honest; I dislike Walmart. Forget all the terrible things I've heard about their corporate practices - there's just something about the place... it feels so... foreign.
Corporation: noun; an ingenious device for obtaining personal profit without personal responsibility.
a lot of people don't understand the difference between a company and a corporation and all thought i use wal-mart i don't buy into the corprate bullshit many will spew. large corporations can do a lot of harm politically economically and environmentally if left unchecked, so where you shouldn't be like these idiots who bash them you should also watch their actions and policies closely.
A corporation is simply a way of letting people invest in a company on a large scale. If individuals wanted to avoid investing in the company they could; if the company follows all the laws and people still wish to invest, your protests are against the will of the public. You are just whining.
@Phage0070 no actually a corporation operates under a charter issued by a state or nation and requires a board of directors with a CEO. a lot of people think the CEO is in charge but in all actuality they are just a figure head and can be fired and replaced, decisions are made as a group but none of them take responsibility for what goes on within the corporation. another little known fact is that corporations have the same legal rights as an individual human, think about that last bit.
They have some of the rights of humans, but not all. They can't cast a vote for instance. All of those things from the lack of personal responsibility (who can take that for a multi-billion dollar corporation in tort law?) to some rights as an individual are designed to allow a corporation to compete effectively with an individually owned business. Its a way to handle mass investment, thats all.
@Phage0070 who takes the wrap for a corporation? how about the board of directors or ceo for large problems and the individual responsible for the minor ones. true they can't cast a vote as a singular entity but why would you take 1 vote when you can buy off politicians with lobbyists and influence every person within the entity to vote in your favor through subversive means. they are not inherently bad but they could do with tighter constraints/regulations to stop them from abusing their power.
First of all, its "who takes the rap" as in "rap sheet". As for who takes the blame, everyone involved is involved up to their investment; in other words you can fine the company out of existence but you can't go after someone who bought $5 of stock for anything more than that. And buying off politicians is a problem with politicians, not corporations. Thats like blaming money for the problems with muggings and theft.
@Phage0070 rap is a form of music don't laughter language. and i'm honestly having trouble understanding your position on the subject, as for fines, what i said was a suggestion on how it should be; but you can't hold anyone responsible for a corporations misdeeds and that's a problem. you say that corporations aren't responsible for buying off politicians but they are just as much to blame as the politician taking the bribe if not more for deliberately corrupting our legal system.
FYI, words sometimes have different meanings! Its a "rap sheet" or more accurately a "R.A.P. Sheet" (Record of Arrest and Prosecution), thus the saying "Take the RAP" as meaning "take the blame". As for corporations, they are sort of like executors for large numbers of disinterested investors. When a corporation is punished all the investors are punished. Picking one person to be responsible wouldn't just be unfair for them, but also wouldn't be justice for all involved.
Now as for bribery in specific, that is a specific criminal action which the individual and those who conspired to the crime can and will be held personally responsible. Investors will not be held responsible because they didn't request or purposefully fund those actions. But if the company screws up like with an oil spill, nobody is personally responsible but all investors will be impacted by some loss to their investment.
@Phage0070 a r.a.p. sheet is not the same word used in taking the wrap go look it up. and how is selecting those directly responsible for a failure or disaster not fair? and as for the justice line, mass punishment never works. but i don't see how any of this is connected to investors unless you're suggesting they are being punished a loss to their wallet. in which case you're and idiot. stocks go up and down based on the companies earnings and performance, not as a punishment and reward.
"a r.a.p. sheet is not the same word used in taking the wrap"
Yes it is, how about you look it up. What sense does "wrap" make in that context anyway? Who or what exactly would be getting wrapped?
"unless you're suggesting they are being punished a loss to their wallet. in which case you're and idiot. stocks go up and down based on the companies earnings and performance, not as a punishment and reward."
No company is perfect and I suppose any decent one more or less could come under scrutiny for being less than perfect, but does nobody have any balance or perspective? Walmart's way, you HAVE a job. The other way, you don't. Oh right, I forgot, Walmart isn't doing anyone any favours because you have an inane, I mean, inerrant right to a job, anyway.
I myself hate Wal Mart...the whole driving prices down to run out the local shops just sucks.
Making fun of Wal Mart workers? Not cool...those are people working a job same as you or I, so I agree with P & T on that point. I do blame management with not making them full time, no benefits, etc.
I am also annoyed at everything from China in that store. Not just Wal Mart and it's hard to find anything else...but I prefer American goods. Not just buy AMerican...but LOCAL.
wal-mart isn't capitalism, it's globalism. Walmart overwhelmingly sells foreign products (mainly China) at slave wage prices; since the chinese are overworked and underpaid.
Idiot American public buys their shit because of the shamelessly lowprices enabled by NAFTA and non-existent tarrifs. This undercuts local businesses and forces everyone to, instead of producing things locally, work and buy from this dependent-creating behemoth.
@ParapaDrifter This argument you have made is a very typical one. You put down the people you are trying to convert. How do you expect to convince people of something when you call them idiots? Also you throw in words like behemoth which are unecessary and will confuse most people. To me it just makes you look like a jackass. Im willing to bet most of those poor chinese people you describe are happy to have a job at all. I dont like Wal-Mart so I rarely shop there. Do the same and shut up.
I don't get it... aren't those cartoons faces on the shirts depicting the two trailer trash lardasses protesting wal mart??? Seriously, pot meet kettle!
I worked at wal-mart pushing carts and was treated like a fucking mule. They had the knull to tell me that i had less liability than anyone else so i got paid the least amount. OK, a fucking car lot full of nice cars isn't any liability? Not to mention them working me 6 hours without a break on most days. The guy they hired after me took them to court for labor law violations and looks like he may win. if only i had did the same.
I think the question remains vaild - why force people to earn their living at jobs that could easily be automatized, instead of just installing more robotics and cutting down the length of the workday/-week and share the more interesting and stimulating jobs?
Those two look more like tralier trash than anyone I've ever seen in a WalMart. I mean, look at the womans teeth. And for it being "a job a monkey can do", well any monkey could make a print on a t-shirt.
Idk, are they brother and sister (the anti-walmart peeps)? if not, I find the whole inbred wal-mart family picture ironic, simply because they look alike.
I hate every last scrap of American "culture" (if you can call it that)... Can I be on your show?
There are a whole list of reasons why Wal-Mart is bad and every blind, controlled drone it employs. But nevertheless, they are American which basically puts a giant stamp on any argument, comment or accusation, saying RETARDED.
Enjoying being milked for your money by your far-right government whilst the rich get richer and you get eaten up and pooped out
Absolutely no one bitches if one car dealer gets bigger than the others, or if one convenience store chain grows, or restaurant for that matter, so why does everyone hate on WalMart? Sure they use cut-throat tactics. WTF did you expect? How do you think they grew that big? Grow up!
If you want to beat WalMart, just start your own store and compete with them. That's what they did in the beginning. It was a level playing field, and they figured out how to make a buck. The American Dream Story. Quit bithching. Cinderella Story.
I've never shopped at Wal-Mart, but I would never make fun of people who work there. Any job well done gets respect from me. I just prefer smaller, mom-and-pop stores. I don't like Rainbow or Cub, either.
@AmusedChild I'd rather shop at Walmart then Target. Target is a french company. so buying at walmart at least your money isn't going to france. as for most of the merchendise being made in China ,Korea, Japan, etc. that's because the high tax rates, Massive corrupt unions & over regulation have chased manufacturing out of the U.S.
@kdraper2007 Target is not a French company. Visit Snopes.com to see that this is an urban legend. It was started by the Dayton family here in Minnesota, and though AXA, a French company, owns 42 million shares of the stock, that comprises less than 2% of Target Corporation's assets.
1) The government (federal and several states) is a major investor of theirs, according to the CAFR-1 comprehensive annual financial report.
2) They prohibit political speech on their property, including ballot access nominating petitions. (Even with no table set up, even respecting people's personal space, even without it blocking the doors, etc...) If my freedom of interpersonal speech doesn't follow me onto Wal-Mart property, fuck them.
@libertarianjury well the last one I can agree with. If its their property, and they don't want picketing and stuff on their property they have every right to say go away. every business owner retains the right to refuse any customer. they are trying to sell things not give you a soap box. would you like it if I used your home for my venue of political speech?
@karn33333 If you subsidized my home with your tax dollars, or if I had stolen your home from you and made it "mine", or if I supported fascism by politically supporting the Federal Reserve System and buying up public thoroughfares and then outlawing speech on them, then yes, you'd have a right to speak to the public in my home, and certainly if I allowed the public walkthrough access to my home. The reality is: Americans are scared to death of being exposed to ideas of any kind. Fuck them!
@karn33333 Wal-Mart supports the unelected Federal Reserve bankers who you work for, as a slave. Also, the government is a major investor of theirs. If they opposed this system, and allowed free unamplified interpersonal political speech on their property, then that would be one thing. But they don't: they support the fascist system, because they benefit from it. Also, they don't mind stealing tax dollars and using eminent domain. At this late stage in our Republic's decline, fuck them!
@libertarianjury so what, it's a store, not a public park. besides since you don't often libtards shopping at Walmart, & the Zero liability voters don't care about issues as long as the welfare checks keep coming, you'd have a pretty boring political discussion anyway.
they obviously are forgetting wal mart has a lot of chinese product on their shelves. american jobs are zilch! wal mart is not the most freindly place in the world either.
@salamonetalton All stores have a lot of Chinease product on the shelves, that tends to happen when your government is hostile to manufacturing, & you have socialists running your unions.
so.... these mouth-breathers are Putting down Wal-mart customers & employees. Are you kidding me? Thoses two T-shirt wearing dorks couldn't hold a job if their lives depended on it.
@kdraper2007 Course, they're entrepeneurs if you think about it. If I could make a couple bucks off of people who think dumb crap like this, I would. What's the alternative, try to convince them otherwise? It'd be like pushing Sisyphus's Boulder. Of course the downside is they believe it themselves (and I see them around alot, given that I live near this exact Wal-Mart).
i agree with this. The customers aren't to blame really nor are the staff. The people that run the joint in the top ranks are really the ones responsible for the deception if any. That is all really.
Penn said in this video.. work 40 hours a week at walmart, that is laughable. The manager can send you home after 30 hours if they think their sales per man hour won't be met. They don't care if you make your rent or have a full paycheck, as long as they get theirs to hell with you.
That is correct. Food-4-less was paying $16 Hr when left 8 years ago due to store closing, now they have had raises to $19. I still have friends at others stores. Eat your heart out, there really are people making a living wage.
I'm retired as of this year. I have an ebay book store & 2 rental properties. Nothing wrong with working hard young, saving & investing. By far better off than paying student loans for the rest of your life.
You save money by simply not buying things you don't need. On things you do need, Walmart is no cheaper than any major chain. Yes, A living wage is one that will meet your humble basic needs with enough left over to change your future & Food-4-Less was such a company who provided that to their employees with plenty of profit left over for themselves. Walmart could EASILY do that too if they give a shit. It's that simple, they could easily pay outstanding wages.
Well google Walmart closing 10 Sams Clubs as announced this week. Store closings happen for all kinds of reasons. Ours closed because we are in a town of 15,000 people & Walmart opening a supercenter took just enough of our sales F4L decided not to renew their lease. 1 store closing in a chain of 150 stores does not mean the chain was not still making very good profits. F4L averaged 25-30 million a yr profit as is public exchange record. Walmart closing 10 Sams Clubs means Walmarts broke? Hardly
I think I'm beginning to see why you are stuck at Walmart. You were the one who said 1 store closing meant F4L had failed, I just pointed out to you Walmart also has stores closing but doesn't mean the company is broke or all stores have failed. I think you have some concentration problems & can't match my replies together with the questions you asked. Look if Walmart employees don't have the guts to bargain for what they deserve, thats their spine problem.
who said i'm "stuck at Walmart"? i dont even work at Walmart. but thats your lack of reading comprehension skills biting you there. i reiterate my suggestion of higher education. though for you, it may be too late
i didnt ask you any questions beyond the rhetorical, which i used to point out contradictions within your arguments
Walmart employees bargain for wages they deserve?
NO, YOU didnt want that. YOU wanted unions determining everyones pay, regardless of skill level or compitence
By higher education, you really mean becoming a repeater of provided opnions, it's nothing more & sure not the gospel. There are many many high school grads who will out earn the average college grad. I have a friend who cleans up after fires making $90,000. Another has a body shop & probably makes more than that. Your average college grad probably makes $40,000. There were many college Grads working at Energizer Battery because it paid more then their degree field. So read away Einstein.
wrong on your figures, and the purpose of higher education
it isnt for "becoming a repeater of provided opnions, it's nothing more"
it IS about receiving training in the chosen occupation, & also creates job prospects, networks, etc
also - "on average, an individual with a bachelor's degree earns approximately $54,392 per year, compared to $31,044 avg salary of a worker with a high school diploma"
the difference in those salaries over 2 years is more than enough to pay for the degree
The offical average for a 4 year degree is $46,000 not any more than a union worker with a high school ed. A bachelor's degree does not secure A JOB that actually pays that much. Lots of Bachelor's degrees competing for the same jobs, someones getting hung with those student loans & working for far less than $50,000. That furnace man is no fool, probably raking in $300-500 a day & probably learned his trade as a PAID apprentice.
of course its all relative i guess, since the need for a degree, and what level of degree depends on the field of study/job requirements
frankly after paying $85 to have my furnace fixed (when all it turned out to be was dead batteries in the thermostat & clogged gas valve) for 30 minutes work, i figured i'd gotten into the wrong racket
Ok, I'm out of here. I wish the Walmart lifers the best, I can only encourage them to make Walmart a brief stop in life, not the final destination. Start a business, join a union, write a book, whatever it takes to have a better life.
my advice, dont join a union. determine your own worth & negotiate for yourself. if you join a union you will be forced to watch a lazy unintelligent bum work right next to you & they'll get all the same raises & promotions you will, regardless of how much harder you work
@Zaxxon2008 I don't hate K-Mart because they allow their managers to tolerate political speech and nominating petitions, if the petitioners are being polite and not interfering with business. Thus, K-Mart is a pro-American company, and Wal-Mart is not. So long as you do not support fascism, you are free to operate in it as you will, but if you are grossly anti-speech and anti-American, you get my undying contempt. Giant Foodstores also tolerate speech, and they are almost as big as Wal-Mart.
KMart doesnt "tolerate political speech and nominating petitions" (whatever the fuck a "nominating petition" is) any more or any less than Walmart does
do you just make this shit up as you go along? for someone who brandishes their name as "Libertarian," you seemagainst freedom of choice (as in Walmart)
and as Karn33333 said, Walmart has every right to allow or prohibit whatever "free speech" it wants.
@libertarianjury Wow, if you are that far out of whack with your company jive, you need to quit and start your own company and do whatever you wish, or submit. You are clearly not happy with the position you are in. You can tout all the anti-speech, anti-american shit you want when you own your own company. Or you can spout all the gung -ho shit you want as well. just don't be demonizing who you work for now. If you don't like it, change your life. No one owes you anything, asshole.
id buy a shirt i want every walmart in the world to burn walmart is disgusting and bad for the us economy period anyone with half a brain knows that. they are just another big corporation that cares about nothing but money. low prices???? oh ok ill go shop there to pay $19.97 instead of $19.99 at the other store laaaaaame and when the fuck have the ever and i mean EVER sold a quality product????? oh yeah never! WALMART SHOULD DIE!
WAL MART doesnt want Unions, how is that bullshit? Wal Mart drivesproperty vaules when they come in, how is that BS? I'm shure some stuff was exaggerated. But who paid Penn and teller to do this. Wal-Mart?
i'm not sure why you address me with that reply. from the way you phrase it, you give me the impression you misunderstand what i said, or are agreeing with me. not sure
but who paid Penn & Teller? Showtime did. this was Season 5. if it were a Walmart "conspiracy" i'm sure they'd have addressed it in Season 1
Walmart sucks dirty donkey dicks. In our town you had 3 grocery stores paying meat cutters $12-$16 an hour. Walmart came in & their prices were no better but they took just enough of the total grocery sales that we all couldn't survive. If I went to work for walmart I would have went from $16 an hour down to $9 for walmart meat dept. I got a job in a battery factory for $17...others were not so lucky.
Walmart prices are no better than Kroger or any other major food chains yet they pay their employyees less than half. That is disgraceful. Walmart also makes rediculous demands on their suppliers so more & more companies are telling them to stuff it. Check out how many Sams Clubs are closing now. Price is far from everything.
Yes, It takes a lot of work to reach a skilled level of meat cutting & managing and is well worth $16-$19 hour. I sure was not doing it for walmart for $9 when I could go to a factory for $17
I think that's the problem here. They aren't aware there is a nation above the Mason Dixon Line. I am, I just don't like it(Socialist bastards). THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!!!(at least I hope we get a decent President from the South, Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Gary Johnson, and Bob Barr). Well I can't say the North has bad people, they do have Mike Gravel and Jesse Ventura :)
why give a monkey a raise when you could get monkeys off the street to do the same job? when the fuck have you seen a monkey on the street, this person is clearly missing sanity.
These two are DUMBASSES. They look like they couldn't hold a job worth a fucking second. And no we don't all look like that...I can't come up with a better phrase than "fuck you in the fucking neck," so I'll let someone else finish this sentence. Have at it.
That's about the truth of it, my wife's an over-night Cashier at Wal*Mart and atleast 1 of her CSM's nd 1 of her managers are my age or younger, but have the intelligence of fucking hairbrush. If I could wash out their God damn mouths with a fist and a steel-toe boot
There's something pretty rotten about this if you frame it in the context of Penn & Teller being free marketeers. It's a bit of a red herring to get some dumb hippies to be dumb, somehow proving your point, when most of the general public are just as dumb anyway. Actually deal with the facts and claims put forward by the serious opponents, and don't waste time on this. It's a dishonest tactic, but that's what "Libertarians" are all about.

2) Tying Wallmart into the destruction of jobs is far less importaint than tying them to the creation of them.
3) Saving money at Wallmart means you can spend those savings on other things. . like more stuff at Wallmart. . assholes. . .
4) It could be worse. You could be a prostitute instead of working in a sweatshop.

Corporation: noun; an ingenious device for obtaining personal profit without personal responsibility.
a lot of people don't understand the difference between a company and a corporation and all thought i use wal-mart i don't buy into the corprate bullshit many will spew. large corporations can do a lot of harm politically economically and environmentally if left unchecked, so where you shouldn't be like these idiots who bash them you should also watch their actions and policies closely.
ziosuna 1 year ago
@ziosuna
A corporation is simply a way of letting people invest in a company on a large scale. If individuals wanted to avoid investing in the company they could; if the company follows all the laws and people still wish to invest, your protests are against the will of the public. You are just whining.
Phage0070 1 year ago
@Phage0070 no actually a corporation operates under a charter issued by a state or nation and requires a board of directors with a CEO. a lot of people think the CEO is in charge but in all actuality they are just a figure head and can be fired and replaced, decisions are made as a group but none of them take responsibility for what goes on within the corporation. another little known fact is that corporations have the same legal rights as an individual human, think about that last bit.
ziosuna 1 year ago
@ziosuna
Phage0070 1 year ago
@Phage0070 who takes the wrap for a corporation? how about the board of directors or ceo for large problems and the individual responsible for the minor ones. true they can't cast a vote as a singular entity but why would you take 1 vote when you can buy off politicians with lobbyists and influence every person within the entity to vote in your favor through subversive means. they are not inherently bad but they could do with tighter constraints/regulations to stop them from abusing their power.
ziosuna 1 year ago
@ziosuna
Phage0070 1 year ago
@Phage0070 rap is a form of music don't laughter language. and i'm honestly having trouble understanding your position on the subject, as for fines, what i said was a suggestion on how it should be; but you can't hold anyone responsible for a corporations misdeeds and that's a problem. you say that corporations aren't responsible for buying off politicians but they are just as much to blame as the politician taking the bribe if not more for deliberately corrupting our legal system.
ziosuna 1 year ago
@ziosuna
Phage0070 1 year ago

ziosuna 1 year ago
@ziosuna
Phage0070 1 year ago
@Phage0070 a r.a.p. sheet is not the same word used in taking the wrap go look it up. and how is selecting those directly responsible for a failure or disaster not fair? and as for the justice line, mass punishment never works. but i don't see how any of this is connected to investors unless you're suggesting they are being punished a loss to their wallet. in which case you're and idiot. stocks go up and down based on the companies earnings and performance, not as a punishment and reward.
ziosuna 1 year ago
@ziosuna
"a r.a.p. sheet is not the same word used in taking the wrap"
Yes it is, how about you look it up. What sense does "wrap" make in that context anyway? Who or what exactly would be getting wrapped?
"unless you're suggesting they are being punished a loss to their wallet. in which case you're and idiot. stocks go up and down based on the companies earnings and performance, not as a punishment and reward."

wal-mart isn't capitalism, it's globalism.
ParapaDrifter 1 year ago
@ParapaDrifter This argument you have made is a very typical one. You put down the people you are trying to convert. How do you expect to convince people of something when you call them idiots? Also you throw in words like behemoth which are unecessary and will confuse most people. To me it just makes you look like a jackass. @AmusedChild I'd rather shop at Walmart then Target. Target is a french company. so buying at walmart at least your money isn't going to france. as for most of the merchendise being made in China ,Korea, Japan, etc. that's because the high tax rates, Massive corrupt unions & over regulation have chased manufacturing out of the U.S.
kdraper2007 1 year ago
@kdraper2007 Target is not a French company. Visit Snopes.com to see that this is an urban legend. It was started by the Dayton family here in Minnesota, and though AXA, a French company, owns 42 million shares of the stock, that comprises less than 2% of Target Corporation's assets.

abrahamWCE 1 year ago
The problems that I have with Wal-Mart are:
1) The government (federal and several states) is a major investor of theirs, according to the CAFR-1 comprehensive annual financial report.
2) They prohibit political speech on their property, including ballot access nominating petitions. (Even with no table set up, even respecting people's personal space, even without it blocking the doors, etc...) If my freedom of interpersonal speech doesn't follow me onto Wal-Mart property, fuck them.
libertarianjury 1 year ago
@libertarianjury well the last one I can agree with. If its their property, and they don't want picketing and stuff on their property they have every right to say go away. every business owner retains the right to refuse any customer. they are trying to sell things not give you a soap box. would you like it if I used your home for my venue of political speech?
karn33333 1 year ago
@karn33333 If you subsidized my home with your tax dollars, or if I had stolen your home from you and made it "mine", or if I supported fascism by politically supporting the Federal Reserve System and buying up public thoroughfares and then outlawing speech on them, then yes, you'd have a right to speak to the public in my home, and certainly if I allowed the public walkthrough access to my home. The reality is: Americans are scared to death of being exposed to ideas of any kind. Fuck them!
libertarianjury 1 year ago
@libertarianjury and exactly how does walmart subsidize your home? can you prove any of the things you typed? or is this more conspiracy bs?
karn33333 1 year ago
@karn33333 Wal-Mart supports the unelected Federal Reserve bankers who you work for, as a slave. Also, the government is a major investor of theirs. If they opposed this system, and allowed free unamplified interpersonal political speech on their property, then that would be one thing. But they don't: they support the fascist system, because they benefit from it. Also, they don't mind stealing tax dollars and using eminent domain. At this late stage in our Republic's decline, fuck them!
libertarianjury 1 year ago
@libertarianjury so what, it's a store, not a public park. besides since you don't often libtards shopping at Walmart, & the Zero liability voters don't care about issues as long as the welfare checks keep coming, you'd have a pretty boring political discussion anyway.

Zaxxon2008 2 years ago
You save money by simply not buying things you don't need. On things you do need, Walmart is no cheaper than any major chain. Yes, A living wage is one that will meet your humble basic needs with enough left over to change your future & Food-4-Less was such a company who provided that to their employees with plenty of profit left over for themselves. Walmart could EASILY do that too if they give a shit. It's that simple, they could easily pay outstanding wages.
999Atwood 2 years ago
if Walmart is "no cheaper than any major chain" then why would Food4Less & other chains close? fuzzy logic
but still, why all the Walmart-only hate? why not hate Kmart, Sears, Target, Kohls... etc
strange how so many hate directly on the largest employer in the US. couldnt be union led, could it? but P&T make that point in the full vid
"Food-4-Less was such a company who provided that to their employees with plenty of profit left over for themselves"
apparently not, if they closed
Zaxxon2008 2 years ago
Well google Walmart closing 10 Sams Clubs as announced this week. Store closings happen for all kinds of reasons. Ours closed because we are in a town of 15,000 people & Walmart opening a supercenter took just enough of our sales F4L decided not to renew their lease. 1 store closing in a chain of 150 stores does not mean the chain was not still making very good profits. F4L averaged 25-30 million a yr profit as is public exchange record. Walmart closing 10 Sams Clubs means Walmarts broke? Hardly
999Atwood 2 years ago
well someone here just cant make up their mind on why they hate...
999 says - "Walmart opening a supercenter took just enough of our sales F4L decided not to renew their lease."
but 999 ALSO says - "Check out how many Sams Clubs are closing now. Price is far from everything."
first you want to dance on SamsClub closings... then theirs a million excuses for Food4Less closing
but hey, you're a millionaire. you go shop at your Mom&Pop stores. i'll save my $ thanks
let the hate go!
Zaxxon2008 2 years ago
I think I'm beginning to see why you are stuck at Walmart. You were the one who said 1 store closing meant F4L had failed, I just pointed out to you Walmart also has stores closing but doesn't mean the company is broke or all stores have failed. I think you have some concentration problems & can't match my replies together with the questions you asked. Look if Walmart employees don't have the guts to bargain for what they deserve, thats their spine problem.
999Atwood 2 years ago
who said i'm "stuck at Walmart"? i dont even work at Walmart. but thats your lack of reading comprehension skills biting you there. i reiterate my suggestion of higher education. though for you, it may be too late
i didnt ask you any questions beyond the rhetorical, which i used to point out contradictions within your arguments
Walmart employees bargain for wages they deserve?
NO, YOU didnt want that. YOU wanted unions determining everyones pay, regardless of skill level or compitence
Zaxxon2008 2 years ago
By higher education, you really mean becoming a repeater of provided opnions, it's nothing more & sure not the gospel. There are many many high school grads who will out earn the average college grad. I have a friend who cleans up after fires making $90,000. Another has a body shop & probably makes more than that. Your average college grad probably makes $40,000. There were many college Grads working at Energizer Battery because it paid more then their degree field. So read away Einstein.
999Atwood 2 years ago
wrong on your figures, and the purpose of higher education
it isnt for "becoming a repeater of provided opnions, it's nothing more"
it IS about receiving training in the chosen occupation, & also creates job prospects, networks, etc
also - "on average, an individual with a bachelor's degree earns approximately $54,392 per year, compared to $31,044 avg salary of a worker with a high school diploma"
the difference in those salaries over 2 years is more than enough to pay for the degree
Zaxxon2008 2 years ago
The offical average for a 4 year degree is $46,000 not any more than a union worker with a high school ed. A bachelor's degree does not secure A JOB that actually pays that much. Lots of Bachelor's degrees competing for the same jobs, someones getting hung with those student loans & working for far less than $50,000. That furnace man is no fool, probably raking in $300-500 a day & probably learned his trade as a PAID apprentice.
999Atwood 2 years ago
of course its all relative i guess, since the need for a degree, and what level of degree depends on the field of study/job requirements
frankly after paying $85 to have my furnace fixed (when all it turned out to be was dead batteries in the thermostat & clogged gas valve) for 30 minutes work, i figured i'd gotten into the wrong racket

Apparently no one told these 2 ugly ass fucktards that Wal-Mart is all over the nation, not only in the south.

Wal Mart is run by a bunch of rednecks that take advantage of their employees and treat them like hell.
