This, like all of your paintings, is stunning. What brush are you using? It looks like a medium orchid bamboo, but cannot tell. For some reason I cannot get the tip of my brush to do what yours does. It's how it's bent and how you use it that confuses me.

this may seem a stupid question...how do you get the lighter color ink? I know you use more water, but do you mix the ink first in water, or do you dip the brush in dark ink and then dip the brush in water?

hi, aron; not stupid, good question,
Ladle sumi from the ink stone to a small plate, and put water in, making lighter sumi. Then dip a brush in and start drawing.

hi, thanks for the comments. the tip of bent brush tech is to keep the brush body at the right angle toward the line
