  • Copped this beat from Ice Cube. Typical Jay-Z.

  • @SportsByDallas No he didnt. typical hater.

  • @ritesaidme Yes he did. He's biting Good Day on this beat.

  • @SportsByDallas Ice Cube's Good Day was a sample from the Isley brothers track "Footsteps in the Dark", and was produced by DJ Pooh. Jay z's Politics as usual is a sample from the Stylistics track "Hurry up This Way Again" and was produced by Ski Beats.

  • @SportsByDallas who cares where the beat comes from, lets talk bout who uses it better

  • @lylesl0rd pure ignorance according to who?? ur stupid bitch ass. Its Hip Hop Head with an H but ur just proving how stupid and pathetic u really are.2 pac talked about the same shit. money cars women or bitches depending on how he felt that day, i didnt cry cuz im not a fagot either, i mean u sound like u loved the man, did u almost kill urself when he died? it shows how shitty ur life really must be. you dont even know what the word Ignorance means. go fuck urself cry baby, the streets hate u

  • Comment removed

  • @lylesl0rd keep yo bitch ass feelings to yo self u bitch nigga,

  • I noticed the talk about illmatic down below. Yes that was an AMAZING ALBUM but jay has had all if his albums go number one. nas can't say that

  • Jay z goes dumb hard for this song

  • u see. good music doesnt have a million views. thats just how it is. I hate mainstream. they fucked up wiz khalifa too

  • you aint seen money in ya life, when it comes to this cheese ya'll like three blind mice... Jay-Z GOAT easily

  • @rocarlos24 No.

  • whats the name of this album?

  • @wolf1bane Reasonable Doubt

  • genius song!

  • LOL JAY-Z SAID MY LIFE IS BASED ON SACRIFICES JEWELS LIKE ICES. (JEWS SACRFICED TO ISIS THE EGYPTIAINS GODDESS) WORD PLAY

  • how can people say illmatic is a better album then this? are you fukin deaf. jay isnt rapping, this dude is conversating with you threw a song, and is MILESSSSSS ahead of nas lyrically and his flow.. dont even get me started. People just cannot comprehend jay on this album, even i can't at times. Illmatic is the most overated album ever.

  • @ThaSubzstance They're both great albums. Probably 2 of the best in the 90's.

  • @CoolerKing37 theres maybe 2 songs from illmatic that have stood tha test of time. Reasonable doubt? whole album.

  • @ThaSubzstance Alright your talking some fucking nonsense right kid shut the fuck up

  • @FamousChris14 AZ was the best part of illmatic lol

  • @ThaSubzstance Alright your a fuckin huge cock sucker, Nas will forever remain the GOAT, im not gonna lie though this album has to be the closest shit to illmatic and Jay is the closest to Nas, its really hard to tell who is better but you should know that by now. NAS

  • @FamousChris14 LOL. jump off nas's dick bro. he says nuthing complex and his flow is nuthing new, rakim busted crazier shit in 89 then nas in 94. reasonable doubt was a game changer, nas brough nothing new to the table. and his beats where wack except the pete rock ones, not to mention your calling him the goat, after he fell off after this album all the way until UNTITLED. so gtfo.

  • @ThaSubzstance shut tha fuck up!

  • @ThaSubzstance None of what you're saying is making any sense. illmatic changed the nature of lyricism in rap in 1994 the way Paid in Full changed it in 1987. It brought credibility to Queens, opened up the doors for a -ton- of rappers and influenced almost every major rapper in the 90s, including Jay. Not to mention, along with 36 Chambers and Ready to Die, brought some attention back to the East Coast. What are you talking about?

  • @spideymayne i dont think nas's style is by any means changed the game. Jays style on reasonable doubt is NOTHING like illmatic, and if u think so i suggest u let both albums ride out. I dont think illmatic is a bad album, because yes, it was ahead of its time, but i would rather listen to doe or die, cuban links, the 18 th letter, ANYTHING by Kool g rap, 36 chambers, midnight marauders, anything by pete rock and cl smooth, gangstars's daily operations, you know?theses albums never get mentioned

  • @ThaSubzstance If illmatic -didn't- change the game...what did? Listen to a bunch of classic albums from 92 and 93, then listen to a bunch of classic albums from 95. Everything suddenly changes about the way rappers flow over the course of one year. Granted, 1994 is arguably the greatest year in rap history, but there were still only a few albums getting the sort of critical and fan acclaim to have that kind of influence in such a short period of time.

So if not illmatic...what was it?

  • @spideymayne Actually, Illmatic was being recorded since 91. And you could argue that Nas' style was somewhat similar to big daddy kane (only in terms of lyrical structure). because BDK was way ahead of the 80's when it came to lyricism. However none of his albums are recognized nearly as much as Illmatic so you don't really hear about it

  • @aBDKstan Good points. I'd actually argue Nas's style being more influenced by G Rap and Rakim than anyone else, but I wouldn't knock the potential Kane influence. Kane's influence on -Jay- is undeniable, though.

I also think it's unfortunate that Kane's albums aren't nearly as appreciated as they should be. His first two albums are two of the best albums in rap history, imo.

  • @ThaSubzstance Illmatic Definatly did change the game every rapper come up around that time admitted that the illmatic was so good and so far ahead of its time that some mc's didnt even want to rap anymore because 90's Hip Hop was about competition and nobody thought it could be fuckd with!!!

  • @450Flamezz Man ignore dude talking bout Illmatic is overrated. Dude just showed everybody he don't know shit about rap. He probably just started listening to hip hop in 2009

  • @ToneProsPlaylist smh that kid tripping his first hip hop albulm was probaly lil wayne's the carter 3 or drake's thank me later.

  • @spideymayne Regarding RD, you don't have to tell me twice how great it is: Jay is my second favorite rapper of all time, and RD itself is in my top 5 of all time. You're right in that Jay's style on RD is his own, but that doesn't mean he wasn't influenced by Nas (or Snoop, or Jaz-O). But RD itself didn't influence anything. In fact, if anything, that album was influenced by Cuban Linx, just like every other album with a mafioso theme. The Blueprint had influence. RD didn't.

  • @ThaSubzstanceLol wtf are you kidding me? ok im just gonna say a couples things and two things only. Who won the beef? Who gets mentioned in like every rappers songs? Whos known for having the number 1 album? Im 100% sure Nas gave him that style to run with to, as he says in Ether. Uhm i think we know whos better bro. Nuff said stop suckin Jay z's dick and lmfao complex? dude Nas isnt a complex rapper, hes a story teller, Jay-z isnt a story teller thats why you think its so complex you know nada

  • @FamousChris14 i realize many people feel illmatic is the best album, hence my first comment, and yes i can aknowlegde that ether destroyed takeover, but i wasent talking beef, i was compariing first, and best albums, and honestly, theres nothing to write home about illmatic. Case end point, what jay did on reasonable doubt was alot harder, and better to listen to.

  • I wanna if this story he spittin on reasonable doubt is real....

  • Comment removed

  • rule of thumb- when considering a certain artist's classic album, one must listen to not one song... but the entire album from start to finish the way the artist intended it to be heard. Makes the experience much better and you never know what you might find... Good ass endo helps as well.

  • @lakeis3

Then youre simply not feelin it.

  • man jayz shouldn't care what people say, he needs to continue to rap like this, his new flow is sooo....new generation, and thats not good

  • he will never rap like this again...and if you dont like what im sayin suck my dick!

  • @Veliyungkrazy you dont kno what the fuck reel rap is about, suck ur own dick hoe ass nigga

  • @newnegro1 you kno you a faggot go fuck ya mother!

  • Damn! I can't believe people jus' gettin' hip to this album! I knew 'dis cat was gone b good even then. People can't b mad cuz he dum down for ignant azz people to understand. He gettin his money, and you STILL can't name a rapper better now. And this was 1996!

  • @tyetye44 ... Songs like "Who you wit" just had a good vibe too it. He made a lot of music were niggaz could just vibe too and ride out too that had a very inspired message to it. Now it's like he making music that's depressing, with dark messages that he says it's purposely placed to play wit peoples mind but dat's b.s. Don't nobody wanna hear dat shit. All his videos got masonic pics/messages in it when he never did that b4. It's just very extra. People can make excuses the proof is evident.

  • @tyetye44 ... streets is watching, imaginary player.Dis nigga said he was gon "Never Change" and he did. We all know he sold out with how he dismantled Roc-A-Fella. I know it wasn't all his fault, other niggaz was b.s.'n too, but Jay did the most damage. Even when you read the XXL article when he talks about the beef between him and Dame, you can tell in his words he knew that shit was fucked up, no matter what his excuse or his point of view was. He got real money hungry and did sum flaw shit.

  • @twin0430274 Yea he sold out alright...stadiums all over the fucking world. Seriously y'all dudes kill me with that "sold out" bullshit. It's called growing up, expanding. In the words of Jay: "people say Hov take it back, but I'm doing better than before why would I do that?" I mean c'mon dude is worth $400 million now, he's not that same street hustler anymore. Don't get me wrong I love Reasonable Doubt and all that early shit, but he would be fake as shit rapping about that same shit now.

  • @tyetye44 we can all choose what we wanna believe. I know for a fact that it was a lot die hard Jay-Z fans that rode hard wit him in the 90's and early 2000's, that stopped fuckin wit 'em because he changed. And I'm not talkin about him changing because he got older, because that's understandable, I'm talkin bout how his style changed, his message in his music changed, his whole persona. His songs now, don't even compare to songs like Can't knock the hustle, Feelin it, politics as usual ..

  • @tyetye44 nobody knows is jay sum kind a of devil worshiper, but the fact is, him and kanye put out videos like on to the next one, sum twsited shit, its almost like he wants to get questioned about it. jay is my favorite rapper, well, in reasonable doubt i mean, where like twins is saying, hes was talking sum real shit. then only god and the devil knows what happend to him cuz he done fell way down the rabbit hole.

  • @tyetye44 (cont.) in saying that if we all can get out and raise our voices to bring about change then that's the only way "real" change that can affect everybody and not just a few, will happen. He's not beating down the message in saying politics are the reason why situations in parts of Africa or parts of America are the way they are but he is beating down the message that "Jesus can't save you" or "Lucifer is the sun of the morning". He can't ruffle too many feathers or he'll end up like Pac

  • @tyetye44 ... He's taking up these projects to help him feel involved but he's not doing anything to help raise the awareness of the people to bring about a "real" change as a whole. 2pac stayed beating down the message of getting involved in politics and telling the people to use their voices to bring about change. Jay-Z is not doing that. Sure he can help some communities like he did in Africa, but he's not relaying that message to the people who listen to him..... (cont.)

  • @tyetye44 I see you got ur side of opinion and I got my side of opinion so we just gon have to agree to disagree. I've seen the "Water for Africa" documentary and again that's another point that I'm trying to make. Yea it's good that he contributed some of his money and a water pump to communities to help the cause, but really what is that changing at the end of the day. The situation, the poverty, the fact that these people were living in inhospitable environments are still the same...

  • Song is too smooth.

  • Love this song Jay at his best

  • @tyetye44 His influence/voice/power comes through his music which reaches millions more people than what his every now and then appearances in a community could ever do. Instead of him rapping about relevant issues that people can relate to through out the country that can draw awareness to these issues like he did in the 90's, he rapping about bullshit like devil worshipping and living forever. He too scared to rap about real shit because he don't wanna upset the people that's making him rich.

  • @tyetye44 you're still stuck on dis local shit.. Yea it's good that he's giving book bags to kids so they can go to school with supplies and shit but what the fuck is that changing?? When these kids go home they still gotta deal with issues like their parents maybe not being able to provide food or electricity because they don't have a job because they were laid off or some shit. They still have to deal with day-to-day issues that Jay-Z don't see and don't have to deal with.

  • I face you's with the diamond flooded jesus and blind your facials, for life!

Jigga!! This song just gets me going in the morning

  • YES JAY Z!!!!!!!

  • @tyetye44 For instance, why do we need to build more homeless shelters??? Oh, because the policies that are in place that continues to keep poor people down, destroy the middle class, and reduces opportunities for people to live a comfortable life. He doesn't speak on those issues because he is benefitting from those issues. So know the shit you talkin bout before you start talking.. That's like saying Oprah speaks for black people because she hands out fuckin scholarships...GTFOH

  • @tyetye44 That n.igga Jay Z ain't doin s.hit but given money out that he can claim as a tax break to get all his money back plus more from uncle sam... If he was really interested in doing something he should be using his "voice/power" and speak the f.uck up about what needs to change in the community.. Given money to put up shelters ain't gon do s.hit to change the issue or the problem.

  • my fav jay z song of all time

  • Perfect melody, perfect flow, perfect track. Made for Jay-z flow

  • Jay was so hot back in the day.... now hes just a corporate interest dick rider and bites from biggie all the time

  • $EY YE$ (Jay-Z - Politics As Usual)

  • This song should have been in GTA IV. Just for me and Niko to cruise to.

  • This was the time period in which I respected Jay. Back when it was "Roc-A-FellA 4eva" as Jay would put it. SMH... What Happened??? I guess greed and money can make real n.iggaz turn and do hoe shit. Reasonable Doubt is still a classic but 2pac was right about Jay-Z. 2pac is the realest to ever do it plain and simple. Stayed real to the end. Would give his home to the homeless. What Jay doin??? SMH...

  • @twin0430274 man GTFO.. anyone who has ever hustled in their fuckin LIFE, has the UPMOST respect for jay-z... its fortunate for you, that you are a youtube hardass because you would get hit with the fuckin heat in my nieghborhood for EVER fuckin disrespecting jay z.... he inspires ppl who come from nothin to maybe be a fuckin true boss like he is... you are a fuckin idiot.. p.s. jigga would fuckin murk 2pac.. you only like 2pac cuz everyone else does... compare lyrics fucka, jigga will end pac

  • RIP real HIP HOP! We miss you!

  • didnt cry when pac died but prob will when hov does!!

  • @MrJoshreve that shit is uncalled for daawg,

  • @Veliyungkrazy it's a Drake quote lol. "I didn't cry when Pac died, but I probably will when Hov does, and if my tears hold value then I will drop one for every single thing he showed us." from the song 'Fear'

  • @MrJoshreve Pac>>>>Hov

  • @MrJoshreve are you sure bc ev ree body is on the wrong dic

  • @MrJoshreve im sorry to hear that and I sincerely hope you're white cuz pac spent his last days screaming, eloquently outraged, to use cornel west's words, to draw attention to black people and the disgusting state of affairs in our neighborhoods. hov spoke (and continues to speak) about himself, why he's the best, and his own ambition.

  • @MrJoshreve when jay z dies, ima roll through his funeral bumpin pac...

  • @MrJoshreve

You didn't cry when Pac died because you weren't born yet, little boy.

  • @aaaaaagg2a LOL YOU MAD LMAO

  • @aaaaaagg2a please tell me your not a pac fag trolling jay-z videos

  • @aaaaaagg2a He didnt cry cuz hes probly not a fucking fag cocksucker like u

  • @aaaaaagg2a I cried when pac died..I was either in kindergarten or first grade..(random)

  • @aaaaaagg2a i wasn't born but when i found out i cried. (don't get mad I'm not the same person.)

  • @MrJoshreve get that gay ass drake off this classic song son

  • you feel my triumphs, never. feel my pain, im lyin', low in the leathers, i am, the BEST that's ever came

  • U KNW HOW WE DO!!!!!

  • @DaDoubleGA yeah, but there is fake hip hop. What about B.o.B?

  • Real Hip Hop!

  • @Prem488 O my goodness good shit bro good shit. Exactly what I am talking about

  • Y'all might think im crazy and imma re-listen to Illmatic more closely, but so far i think Reasonable Doubt is a better album

  • @jamminjelli it absolutely is... nas is over-rated.. IMO so no attacks, I have the right to my opinion and it is that nas is not the shit like everyone makes him out to be... reasonable doubt was one of the best albums of all time prolly, ANY genre.

  • @lucakris7 wow...i thought i`d never hear that...i never like nas....but i respect him cause he is a legend for puttin out 7 straight plat albums....but lyrically to me illmatic is the only album that i could relate to....of his!

  • @ehoward9438 fuck nas.

  • @lucakris7 you've obviously never listened to Nas.

  • @lucakris7 thank you!!!!!!!! i always felt like that bout nas weak behind!!!!!!!!!!! someone thats understands me!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ehoward9438 I feel the same way! im adding you lol. we are prolly the only two ppl who don't like nas. I just never fuckin liked him. i'm not knocking nas fans, but as they have the right to like nas, I have the right to say I think he is full of shit and not that great of rapper either. period

  • @lucakris7 yeah foreal!!!!!! and nas is overrated!!!!!!!

  • @lucakris7

Nas is not over-rated. Maybe by some, but hardly anyone these days has even heard of the guy.

  • @jelloman17 anyone who thinks Nas is overrated shouldnt even be acknowledged tbh

  • @jamminjelli yea yu should listen more closely illmatic is the greatest rap album of all time period

  • @iluvmeh123ful Illmatic is a great album but I can come up with 10 albums that are just as good.

  • @jamminjelli

Yeah it all depends. I love em' both. While Nas is stronger lyrically on Illmatic by a bit.

The real thing I hate is that we will never see Hov rap like this again.

I mean he is still awesome, but damn.
