The Maltese is the best natured of the toy breeds, not barky-bitey-snappy like some of them, just a very sweet little teddy bear that wants to cuddle and be near you. My wife & I love ours.

@2010mrsjustinbieber They are EXTREMELY good pets, I have been raising and breeding maltese for about 4 years now, And I love them to death, they are very easy to train ( my opinion) and they are very sweet and loving, they ARE lap dogs, and will lay on you every chance you get, so If you are looking for a sweet lovable cuddly dog, A maltese would be the best choice.

@2010mrsjustinbieber These are great pets. Growing up, my family had one. He's about 12 now. We got him because this breed does not shed and that was going to help with my sister's allergies. I would highly recommend that you get one of these. You won't be sorry!

@2010mrsjustinbieber they are great pets! i have one named rosie and she is so nice and cute and SWEET they are best tempered! make sure you train them unless you want a bad rug. i recommend training from scratch because getting a dog already trained you dont exactly have ALL the control in what you want them to be trained like. make sure they get their heart worms medicine. they are good with needles at the vet. they should be between 5-14 pounds to be healthy. no table food and lots of WALKS!!

when i first got my 2 dogs (they are both JACKRUSSELS) the youngest was 4 weeks and oldest was 5 weeks and they were both cute as those 2 we named the youngest daisy (cause shes a girl) and the oldest duke (cause hes a boy and daisy likes duke XD)

they dont shed but their fur does grow thats why you see all the maltese show dogs have really long hair. but you can still trim them like other dogs. they just dont have as much.

i had 5 dogs by now, very easy to do potty training, first comes first , you need to teach ur dog what is bad what is good by saying (good boy, good girl) so now dog knows thats possitive... then teach ur dog (bad boy) and spank him very softly and raise ur voice.. so hell know what bad is :).. easy as that , so now if ur dog poop on ur carpet just say bad boy, and clean the spot with dog potty cleaning spray.. so ur dog wont go back to same place and poop, now hell try new place..

Miss, there's no breed with specific problems in their jaws. Wherever you heard or saw that, is a completely false argument.

If you're looking for a healthy dog in a small body, might I indicate to you a small-sized mutt. Yes, mutts are very healthy. Wiki for Hybrid Vigour (heterosis).

Now if you really want a dog with a specific breed, Maltese are very healthy and are not prone to any specific breed health problems.
