hey great vid and demonstration. I would like to mention how i use my Majic Jack . I was thinking oneday since my phone lines are all connected; what would happen if I connected the majic jack from my Mac to my wall rather than straight to a phone Hmmmm. Guess what? I had a dial tone in all of my phone jacks in the house. Now I'm running 4 phones off of one majic jack. i love this product
As a MJ and MJ Plus user, all Mac owners should be aware of a related MJ suspicious file. The file is mj_dev and on a quad core i7 MBP is using 9% average CPU time. That amount of CPU usage is way to high for the operation of this unit, and one must question what MagicJack is doing with this file.
Why does the speakerphone not work with it? Also, does this require a fast internet connection? Or would it work well with a Wi-Fi connection from my Verizon MiFi?
Why does Magicjack display the caller ID on the softphone but not on the telephone. It only shows "incoming Call". I'm using a Mac, and I did a research on some forums about this topic, and all of them affirm that the company doesn't support caller ID on Mac OS X "yet". Well, MagicJack say "we support Mac"? but they don't mention this to the public. PS; All of the rest work just fine.
just got mine on 1-16-2009 seems to work good so far :) but i am still messing with it, so i can't rate it yet. Good news is i do get a free year and if all works out good, i can't complain. I'm not replacing my cell phone i only got this "MJ" to save me some mobile minutes. I have done 20 calls on it and so far so good.
MagicJack - It works! Connects to your computer with a USB Cable. Gives you a dial tone. You get a new phone number. You can makes telephone calls through your computer. Each phone call: $0.00 - Costs $40. The each year $20
what about if u have it plugged in? if someone calls the number of the magic jack does the phone ring?
