Well, actually Jedi have no emotional ties, as it can cloud the mind and lead to desires for revenge and anger. So technically, the character with the red saber in the final cut is the Sith, since only a sith would marry. However, Sullivan Ballou also had a son, and fought for the Union, (2nd Rhode Island Infantry.) This poses an interesting question as to their timing of the characters, as some Jedi (in the books)later marry, after Return of the Jedi, and Luke's recreation of the Jedi Council.
I would have thought that a Sith would have even less reason to marry than a Jedi would.
However it IS interesting that the The Ho Brothers show the film from a Sith point of veiw in the final film, rather than the usual Jedi side of things (whether they did this intensionally or not I don't know) but a refreshing take non-the-less.
Sullivan Ballou was a Union soldier during the Civil War. In Art of the Saber, the brother with the red saber reads what is actually Sullivan Ballou's letter to his wife over the intro of the film. Ballou was killed in battle about a week after he wrote the letter to his wife.
Very nice job guys. I like the original/final version better but that in no way decreases my love of this. It's nice to see the tale with a different spin on it. Well done. :)
hey every1 they im pretty sure they used EffectsLab which is an insanly great and easy to use program. however the saber effects in this movie were not as good as they could have been so check out my force pull movie in my profile to see the max results of the program
This clip was made back in 2000-2001 just after Episode I came out (a year after I think.) when starwars fanfilms where just starting to come into there own, and people like Ryan W. And Dorkman where just starting to figure out these things. LSmaker didn't even exist.
i have a little lightsaber clip and i tell you it's not hard but it really requires work. i spent maybe 15 minutes on making 1 second lightsaber effect

Well I don't know what program they used. The Saber effects aren't that great so I think they used lsmaker. I always use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for my lightsaber making needs! Try that!
i downloaded a try version of net, it will only let me put on wmv files, can i prevent this or if not, how do i get a wmv file from say a webcam or digi cam?
A program you can use to do the lightsaber effects is called EffectsLab. And you can get the lightsaber sound effects at fxhome.com. You can download the sounds there for free.

i downloaded a try version of net, it will only let me put on wmv files, can i prevent this or if not, how do i get a wmv file from say a webcam or digi cam?

A program you can use to do the lightsaber effects is called EffectsLab. And you can get the lightsaber sound effects at fxhome.com. You can download the sounds there for free.
