  • Hey man great sound. Whats the name of that awesome colour ? Great taste

  • @TheBungadian Thanks! The finish is limited edition Mapa Burl Honey Burst. It is really stunning in person.

  • @randyrossdrums Haha i bet it is, im going with the kinda standard black sparkle fade which is to late to change unfortunately. Wouldve loved this colour on my kit !

  • Did you do any eq'ing and processin' and stuff on the toms? They sound freakin' awesome :D.

  • @Hooray4drums I think I had cut the mids a bit and ran a little compression (like 4:1, fast attack and release) to limit clips. The drums actually sound that good, they are amazing in recording and live settings.

  • would you say that a Gretsch Renown Maple is a better or a worse kit, than this one?

    Love the video, btw ;)

  • @Alexgireis I would say they are pretty matched in quality. The tone of the Gretsch would be a bit darker in tone due to the bearing edges being 30 vs the 45 on the Pearls. Both kits are quality shells and cast hoops etc.

  • Beautiful sound dude, what heads are you playing with ?

  • @Bulletw00t at the time of this video I was running G2 Clear on toms and G2 coated on snare. Thanks

  • Nice solo. You also did a great job of miking and mixing. The drums sound really good.Too many accoustic drum solos on you tube rely on someones teensy camcorder mike. Thanks for caring :)

  • @djrees56 Thanks for noticing. I prefer having things sounding decent.

  • GREAT KIT MAN !! tell me please the snare drum is also a MCX?

  • @mesoprano Actually, no, it is a Pearl Free Floater Copper 14 x 6.5. Sorry.

  • that is a sexy assed Pearl Masters kit man I always loved that color! good jam too I like your style very groovy and not all about speed

  • @ned2one Thank you. Appreciate the comments!

  • sounds good. playing is great

  • @TheMajorTres Thanks! Appreciated!

  • Nice

  • @Yegorization Thanks!

  • Nice work.

But why are you advertising for these corporations at the end? We work our asses off to be able to afford their gear, but they'll give it away for free to those who can already afford it or don't even need it.

If you go out of your way to advertise for them.. then they have no reason to endorse you.

You shouldn't show a company logo for free unless they helped you get to where you are or are helping you get to where you want to be.

  • The sound's good, playing's awful.

  • @ArtnokStudio Thanks for your opinion.

  • @ArtnokStudio perhaps..simple grooving doesnt mean anything.. the playing is fine...nobody has to play super complicated 24/7

  • @ArtnokStudio Sounds good, playing's great. But some comments are awful. randyrossdrums, sweet vid, love the sound of the kit!!

  • @ArtnokStudio How's it awful?

  • @ArtnokStudio troll is unsuccessful

  • Hows the firestudio project holding up. could u plz list ur recording gear.?

  • @IchMagSechs The FSP has been a great piece of gear. Really enjoy using it.

    Recording gear:

    Presonus Firestudio Project

    Dell XPS m1730

Audio Technica MB Drum Pack (tom mics)

    AKG D112 (kick)

    Shure Beta 57a (snare)

Apex 185 Matched Pair Of Condensers (overheads)

    Sonar Producer 8.5

    Numerous Plugins etc

  • @randyrossdrums thanks im having trouble figuring out if the FSP is good for drum recording, you can split up the channels on ur comouter right.?

  • @randyrossdrums a question for you mr ross. the presonus firestudio project, does each chanel get seperated into a single track in your software?

  • omg i just jizzed myself to the sound of ur toms,, great vid i think ill save up for this kit, when i improve my skills abit :)

  • raw bell dry ride? which one? sounds nice

  • @flyingcows547 Good ears. it is the HH 21" RBDR

  • Beautiful sound! Pearl is a kicking ass drum brand!

  • wow the snare sounds like virgil donati's... Impressive!

  • The drums sound Great!................I had a 14x6.5 brass Free floater years ago I got from Gregg Bissonette (the one used on Buddy Rich concert) and it was the best snare I have owned. I liked it best w/a coated Emperor. The respose, depth and crack were unreal!!

  • What snare did you use? What shell? It sound like a dream to me!!!

  • @alucard0712 Glad you like the snare. That is a Pearl Free Floater Copper snare. 14x6.5 size running an Evans G2 Coated on the top. They are a very very nice drum.

  • @randyrossdrums Thanks a lot man!!!For me THAT sound snare associated with Pearl ;-) It sounds like on early Mike Mangini records (with Steve Vai for example).Kind of a *magic* sound to me :-)))

  • what is the name of that finish? i always wanted my drums to look that way thanks!

  • @athansauc that is Mapa Burl Honey Burst. It is a limited edition from Pearl. Thanks.

  • Could you please tell us which size of shells are those?... And, are those e604s on toms?... Thanks!

    BTW: Great video! :)

  • @nervirasme Thanks for the comment. The toms are (Diameter x Depth) 10x8, 12x9, and 16x14. The mics are just the cheap AudioTechnica MB Drum Pack tom mics.

  • How does the Pearl Master Custom MCX snare sound without the mics?

  • @drummer4life54 That is not the MCX snare. That is a Pearl Free Floating 6.5x14. I haven't actually heard the MCX snare.

  • @randyrossdrums How does the Pearl Free Floating sound without mics?

  • @drummer4life54 Really really good. I have the Pearl reference brass 14x6.5 and I love it but it is a very focused tone with minimal overtones and ring. The free floater sings. I has plenty of attack but a nice body of tone following that attack. The tone in the recording are not terribly altered.

  • Great sound. :) one suggestion? when you mix your tracking.. can you pan it in sync with the video? you kit goes one way.. and the sound goes the other... lol.. just a thought my man. Great job.

  • @SilverFoo79 Thanks. I never thought of it until you mentioned it. I will reset my panning in future videos. Damn, it will now forever haunt me. LOL.

  • Love the sounds of your kit! What heads are you using in your toms?

  • I am running Evans G2 Clear on the batter side and Remo Ambassadors on the reso side. I really like the tone both live and recorded.

  • Just ordered the same kit in Ruby Black Burst Mappa Burl Maple. Had to order from Canada because Honey Burst is only finish available on these MCA limited edition kits in the USA. They sound awesome and I can't wait to unbox mine in a few weeks. I recognize you as a Pearl Forum member and good luck with that beautiful kit.

  • love the sound!
