  • John Paul Jones once said on a MTV documentary on Led Zeppelin in the early 90's that he hated drummers that tried to emulate John Bonham by just crashing & bashing. He said that Bonzo was all about the feel & dynamic nuances that made it sound so magical. This version reminds me of everything that John Paul Jones hates about when drummers try to play Zep. Bonzo was not a crash & bash drummer he had swing with a heavy feel & sound to match!!

  • @Champane97 This show was a tribute to Bonzo just a bunch of drummers paying tribute to the man!!! Peace!

  • @miked665 Peace too!! I'm not having a dig at this drummer for his performance I'm only making a reference what John Paul Jones wants people to remember Bonzo for. But you have to admit this drummer is surely doing his best to destroy those drums. My drum teacher told me that you can't make a drum sound louder by bashing it. Tuning & stroke placement is the key. Bashing the drum only chokes the sound. John Bonham & Simon Phillips are great examples of this. Peace!
