Perhaps one has to be a Thundercat to be weakened by Thundranium. Grune was no longer a Thundercats, maybe that is why he was unaffected. Just like the Eye of Thundera is the source of the Thundercats' powers, Grune no longer benefits from the Eye.

@simplestrum I'm not sure about the effects of the Eye of Thundera, but there was something about the Thundranium in the Thundercats movie. The New Thundercats were effected by the Thundranium pits even before they became Thundercats. (I think they called themselves 'Mere Thunderans' or something like that)

Thanks for posting this video. I actually liked Grune eventhough he turned out to be a bad guy. I also have this notion, which is certainly debatable, that Grune wasn't just another Thundercat... but a Thundercat on par with the likes of the legendary Jaga as they were both great warriors and were once friends. I think any Thundercat other than Jaga would be outclassed if they fought Grune.

@simplestrum That's not just a "notion"; that's the plot of the episode "Grune the Destroyer". He was best friends with Jaga and on the same level as him, and Jaga is the only person to have ever defeated Grune -- the other Thundercats couldn't even face him. And, if you think about, even Jaga can't beat Grune on his own. The first time they fought, Lion-O gave him his own powers and the second time Jaga uses a super-powerful star's energy.

The only difference between Grune and the other thundercats is that he has a saber tooth. Maybe that is why the Thundranium does not affect him. His clan might be immune from it's effects.

No. Grune is a ghost, can become invisible himself, can teleport, and grow to immense size. Also, his thundrainium club weakens Thundercats by mere proximity. By himself, Grune took out Cheetara AND Lion-O.

Jaga is the only Thundercat to ever be a match for Grune.
