You can hear Vanessa land on floor and hear the audience after her last tumbling pass. I don't think they had the equipment miked as they sometimes do, and the producer probably decided to turn up the audio on the commentary and the music while keeping the general stadium audio very low. So yes, I think it's real - just too quiet.
this music is remixed from that futuristic film the 5th element. I read the comments before i watched and was wondering what it would be! Cool movie and great choice of music
It's from the soundtrack to the movie 'The Fifth Element', a weird sci-fi flick with Bruce Willis and Mila Jovovich. I like the song, and I think it's cool that Vanessa chose it for floor.
the music is kinda weird but she interprets it well. like the commentator said, it suits her LOL
anyway i kinda liked it, at least it's original, and she's not a dancer so at least she's working it well AND it's a cleverly constructed routine. It definitely works. Speaking of new routines, Sandra Izbasa's is absolutely GORGEOUS!!
i do like her routine .. she is getting better .. but i agree with backflipboy27 .. she is very stiff ... she reminds me of amanar so much .. im sure she'll kick ass at the olympics :)
fair enough, but name me one gymnast who has very good tumbling (that's how you get points, hence win medals, isn't that the name of the game? it's competitions, not galas) and a high A score, who can Dance with a capital 'D'. You have to pack so many skills nowadays, i think at least Izbasa gives herself enough time to do an imterpretation to the music, like it or not. 95% of gymnasts rush through their FX just trying to play catch up with the music, let alone dance
Ferrari is always glorious on floor

Farraris Music Has Vocals. I thought you couldn't have that
mlee96 3 years ago
You can have vocals in your music as long there are no discernible lyrics.
TsubasaDreams 2 years ago
also i think she gets away with it because it is actually synthesiser produced vocals, so therefore not strictly singing.

She clearly likes the operatic style of music, she previously used Nessa Dorma.

Ferraris music gives me a head ace!

i believe that if u use vocals in ur routine it is if it is for rythym only, not words or lyrics, but like her oooooh and ahhh stuff is fine.

can anyone enlighten me as to the vocals in ferrari's fx?!? Since when was this acceptable?
choustonlv 3 years ago 2
vocals are allowed as long as the voice is used as a musical instrument and the words are not distinguishable IIRC
tmc8802 3 years ago
Really? I know that's how rhythmic gymnastics was like that...but since when can you do that in artistic gymnastics?

According to the most recent code of points, musci containing ANY vocal sound is prohibited.
From the FIG Code Of Points:
The musical accompaniment with orchestration, piano or other instruments
(without singing) occurs through a recording.
-- Absence of music or music with voice -
1.00 P.
Note: Taken by the A- Panel from the Final Score.

I don't know, I thought it was a deduction if you have voices. I can't see them changing that rule/
