Valles Marineris...
3000 km long, 600 km across, and up to 8 km deep.
In comparison, the Grand Canyon of Arizona is 800 km long, 30 km across, and 1.8 km deep.
One of today's leading hypotheses is that Valles Marineris began as a crack on the Red Planet as the newly formed planet cooled down, billions of years ago.

Where did the water start & where did it flow to? Water flow massive enough to carve out such a canyon should have a dry ocean basin at the low end.
