@Chupacabra777 The Mad Dog doesn't come equipped with jump jets, unless you customise it. But for that, you have to sacrifice some of your weaponry and, in some cases, armour as well. Most pilots prefer just to leave it in the standard configuration, since at least one 'Mech in any IS lance or Clan Star has a jump capable 'Mech. Besides, the Mad Dog is more of a support 'Mech, so there's not much need for jump jets on them.

Interesting, but unrealistic tactics, all that ordnance to take out a human and still miss, c'mon. Mechs have sensor and tracking packages to help guide weapons to their targets, either this particular mech has none, or the pilot is a total idiot. 3/5 stars for effort.
I don't know whats the problem, it seems to me a Clan Position test...the mech is a modified Vulture, maybe he has bet away his tracking and guiding weapons to kill this "girl". Have you ever read the books? Most of Mechs dont have guided weapons because of lost tech. Only Clans and upgraded InnerSphere Mechs have them again. So seen in the Computer Games.

Why shouldn't infantry be able to defeat a mech? A mech is a glorified tank, and like tanks would need infantry support to take out infantry. Granted this movie was pretty dumb, she would have died several times over
Small arms can barely scratch a mech's armor in the first place. If you were crictically damaged and your core was exposed or have very very light armor, then yes it would be possible to destroy a mech. In any of the mech warriors, were you killed by a machine gun? no it will take forever, too little damage. Now if it was battlearmor I would understand. As they were made to fight mechs or harass, then i would understand. If they can die from infantry then theres no point of the mech.
What would make a good movie is 2 (or more) battlemechs battling eachother and not some completely improbable matchup. Or even a warrior vs an elemental. Now a single Elemental may be able to take out an IS small mech, but a MW taking out an Omni? This is wrong on so many levels and although the intentions are in the right place something like this would probably do more harm than good. I appreciate the effort. The worst mistakes often have the best intentions in mind

It wasn't a Clan pilot, it was just a Clan OmniMech - a Mad Dog. The Clans abhore Solaris and its games and if you even read the series, you'd know that they often made the claim about if and when they retook Terra and re-established the Star League, Solaris VII would be the first thing they would abolish under their new rule.

Gee, I didn't know Solaris VII had a Mech vs. Severely Depleted infantry platoon league...From what I've gathered (Still new to both Battletech and Mechwarrior), that just seems way too unbalanced for either system...even if it was a Star League era light mech only held together by the pigeon Droppings... Yes, I know it's a Clan-like mech, I was just saying that even a relic would probably beat an infantry squad depleted that badly.
Solaris VII doesn't - it's either 'Mech against 'Mech or infantry against infantry, because it wouldn't be much of a contest, even against a sorely outdated 'Mech.
In the later (and badly done) MechWarrior series, only infantry are allowed to fight in the Solaris Games - disappointing, when the only book that ever really covered the Games was from the BattleTech era - 'Main Event' by Jim Long.
Negt, 0 infantry do not use battle armour like Elements, and although they could take down 'Mechs with satchel scharges, the possibility that they wouldget near enough with detectoion would be sim indeed.

The IS took Clan equipment whenever they could from a battlefield, so all throughout the Clan invasion of the IS - beginning through to Operations Bulldog and Serpent
Best mechwarrior game (imo) was Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries. The game that made you feel like you owned your own mercenary company and ran it accordingly to your choosing. Before and after that game none others could compare. All were linear and if they did have a choice it wasn't really a choice XD
In Classic you had engine management, heat management, and totally complex system of loaction damage that at times, could be cumbersome in a big game. BUT IT WAS AWESOME!
You could tear limbs off of mechs, shoot out Guass (There were only BRANDS of Guass Rifles in Classic, meaning the manufacturer) ammo and send a magnetic feedback through the mech so strong it kills the pilot! Wizkids took so much away from classic, that MechWarrior is just a shell of what it used to be!
So FASA produces this great game called battletech, right. And they continue to make both table-top and computer games that kick ass right. (Right up to MechWarrior 3 Pirates Moon)
Then WizKids buys the rights to battletech and totally butchered the complexity of the TableTop game. Then they made a ridiculous amount of butchered computer games. (IE, MechAssault and Mechwarrior 4 w/ expansions)
So why do you guys like MW4 so much? It totally takes away the uberness of classic battletech!

If a Mech wariror movie was like this, where the infantry can defeat battlemechs, it would just end up like transformers. Which would means an uber disappointment.

Why shouldn't infantry be able to defeat a mech? A mech is a glorified tank, and like tanks would need infantry support to take out infantry. Granted this movie was pretty dumb, she would have died several times over

Small arms can barely scratch a mech's armor in the first place. If you were crictically damaged and your core was exposed or have very very light armor, then yes it would be possible to destroy a mech. In any of the mech warriors, were you killed by a machine gun? no it will take forever, too little damage. Now if it was battlearmor I would understand. As they were made to fight mechs or harass, then i would understand. If they can die from infantry then theres no point of the mech.

What would make a good movie is 2 (or more) battlemechs battling eachother and not some completely improbable matchup. Or even a warrior vs an elemental. Now a single Elemental may be able to take out an IS small mech, but a MW taking out an Omni? This is wrong on so many levels and although the intentions are in the right place something like this would probably do more harm than good. I appreciate the effort. The worst mistakes often have the best intentions in mind

Solaris 7 would never put infantry up against battlemechs. Seriously, that mad-dog should've smoked her. Arena Fans don't want to see mechs vs people, they want to see mechs vs mechs, metal on metal, Explosions and shit. This was cool looking, but really dumb conceptually.

Why is the mech stalking her?
HOW can a mech of that size stalk anyone in dense forest? She should have hid and the mech pilot would`ve easily lost her.
When the Mech appears, he decides to mess with her for about 20 seconds before doing anything. Just blow her away!
When he falls off the cliff (stupidly), he pops back up like a robot. Shouldn`t the Human inside be at least stunned for a few seconds?
The girl shoots at the mech- stupid, but the mech pilot was even more stupid anyway.

It wasn't a Clan pilot, it was just a Clan OmniMech - a Mad Dog. The Clans abhore Solaris and its games and if you even read the series, you'd know that they often made the claim about if and when they retook Terra and re-established the Star League, Solaris VII would be the first thing they would abolish under their new rule.

Gee, I didn't know Solaris VII had a Mech vs. Severely Depleted infantry platoon league...From what I've gathered (Still new to both Battletech and Mechwarrior), that just seems way too unbalanced for either system...even if it was a Star League era light mech only held together by the pigeon Droppings... Yes, I know it's a Clan-like mech, I was just saying that even a relic would probably beat an infantry squad depleted that badly.

Solaris VII doesn't - it's either 'Mech against 'Mech or infantry against infantry, because it wouldn't be much of a contest, even against a sorely outdated 'Mech.
In the later (and badly done) MechWarrior series, only infantry are allowed to fight in the Solaris Games - disappointing, when the only book that ever really covered the Games was from the BattleTech era - 'Main Event' by Jim Long.

there was also Illusions of Victory
and a well trained infantry platoon can take down a mech fairly easily using stealth and satchel / fixed charges
or by using grappling hooks and boarding the mech and then killing the pilot or making it surrender

Negt, 0 infantry do not use battle armour like Elements, and although they could take down 'Mechs with satchel scharges, the possibility that they wouldget near enough with detectoion would be sim indeed.

Best mechwarrior game (imo) was Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries. The game that made you feel like you owned your own mercenary company and ran it accordingly to your choosing. Before and after that game none others could compare. All were linear and if they did have a choice it wasn't really a choice XD

In Classic you had engine management, heat management, and totally complex system of loaction damage that at times, could be cumbersome in a big game. BUT IT WAS AWESOME!
You could tear limbs off of mechs, shoot out Guass (There were only BRANDS of Guass Rifles in Classic, meaning the manufacturer) ammo and send a magnetic feedback through the mech so strong it kills the pilot! Wizkids took so much away from classic, that MechWarrior is just a shell of what it used to be!

So FASA produces this great game called battletech, right. And they continue to make both table-top and computer games that kick ass right. (Right up to MechWarrior 3 Pirates Moon)
Then WizKids buys the rights to battletech and totally butchered the complexity of the TableTop game. Then they made a ridiculous amount of butchered computer games. (IE, MechAssault and Mechwarrior 4 w/ expansions)
So why do you guys like MW4 so much? It totally takes away the uberness of classic battletech!
