They were stunning! and could you image how heavy those jewels had to be, it's no wonder they only wore them for official events. I could make all of these things out of wire and glass beads. Very inspirational. :) You know what I would love to see? the older paintings with them wearing the jewels and then seeing the jewels now, did that make sense?
For me, isn't strage that the most beautiful expressions of man in every ways, have always been in monarchical cultures. We just have to look back in history and we will find the truth... God save the Kings and Queens !!! Long live the Kings And Queens !!!!
Magnificent works of art.To think that a full parure would pay the external debt of many small countries....But Alas!!! to the King what the King commands!!!We simple must settle to wear CZ...LOLOL...Noblese Oblige!!!
lostsplendour Thank you very much for all the information on each one, the only thing is that i reconized only 2 :( Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson. Beautiful video.
I loved every glittering second of this video, and agree that Royal Magazin is the ultimate in jewels. I think that the best jewels in Europe belong to the Swedish royals, I just love their amethysts, and sapphires. Any pictures? Thanks again for this.
With every different crown I was thinking to myself: "I would wear this one if I could! And that one when I got married. No,this one! Or that one! LOL. But it would be an honor just to see them in person I think. Or touch them for a fleeting moment. :)
The most valuable things are usually from Russia. Strange, the experts who say what is worth of money. If it is from Russia it is twice expensive as always !
I think these jewels are not all from Russia. But aristocratic families had the most ´beautiful ones. It is not very nice to say but the greatest art shown by to the people to see is by no-democratic cultures. Strange isn´t it. ?
@FinnMove Not really. The communist countries are not democratic at all and didn't produce or encourage any art of this kind. Think what happened to Russia after the revolution and you get the idea.
It´s hard to say what is the origin of the European culture. We see nice examples here ! I think Greece is that. The Western civilication is a modern mix of the Jewish and Christian religion. The Russian people got their alphabet from Greek speech.
Hard to say now when Greece is in a black list with its economy.
I love looking at the jewelry. Just a suggestion - I would include the names of the royals who own(ed) these lovely pieces, and if you knew of information like a backstory or something regarding the pieces, I would include that as well. Lovely music and video!
@moonlicious Ok, I take count of your suggestion. I will change the informations, I will try to make a list of all the jewels with their owners but for some of them have little information because during the auctions, they were no or little informations about their previous (except this note "from noble european family") but check this site Royal magazin, it's the best website about royal jewels.
