  • i dont get it; light the candle, not the toothpick

  • holy shit rofl

  • Try a cat.

  • WTF

  • hey.... you did it wrong. take out the match and the wax from the tea light candle but leave the metal and you'll still have a similar effect. You don't put metal in a microwave. lose the metal and try again.

  • @ConvictedHeart actually.. no you wont, steel doesnt really do anything but get damn hot.

  • people who do Microwave expeirments = Stupid.

  • Did you use a candle?

  • @failbreak599 you can use a candle or a grape...make sure to put the glass over it tho.....this was kind of stupid what he did...you could have made something explode xD

  • @Sibleeful A grape??? o_o I really wanna know how a grape would do that but yea put glass over o_o

  • @failbreak599 yeah! look for "grape plasma". i want to try it but i'm kind of scared xD

  • @Sibleeful WOAH. Thats wicked. IM SO GONNA TRY THIS.

  • @failbreak599 haha! just don't breath in the fumes...open a window...the fumes may make you sick xD

  • @Sibleeful XD thnx for that ill do this experiment outside o-o this is gonna be AWSOME. A grape is harder to do though. Candle is more simple.

  • @failbreak599 well good luck! try to record for me, k?

or at least reply so i know you didn't die xD

  • you have to learn the meaning of "superheating something" idiot!

  • oh,ok, got it. thanks, mate.

  • Technically not plasma.

  • dude, what is the toothpick? stuck in? cool effecct!!!!!!

  • @wishwizard100 It can be stuck in anything - it just needs to be standing vertically. And I think it's just a regular match, not a toothpick.

You can also create this effect with a grape cut nearly in half, with a little bit of skin still connecting the two parts. Don't ask me how that one works.

  • yeah get real close with the camera...want to make sure we dont miss ur face blown off! wow what a chode!

  • put a cd in ur microwave for 10 seconds its cool

  • i was hoping it would blow up in your face

  • I like this video because they put safety first!

  • your parents are going to be pissed if you break the microwave.

  • nice microwave

  • cool

  • ta mere sra po contente de voir sa XD

  • it can tell me how ?

  • that will fuck up your microwave dude... lol

  • Cool =]

  • thats soo weird.. Have you tryed a CD ? cus thats rarther funky!

  • Seems the lazer sword sound from star wars!

  • That fire did nothing, the metal container around the candle is what was reacting to the microwaves.

  • Wrong. The fire is plasma and the microwave radiation intensifies it to the point where it does this.

  • Yeah. You totally superheated gas inside your microwave. Way to go douchebag.

  • jazz not really superheated gas, its more ionization of the gas particles that causes the "so called plasma of microwave" which isnt entirely considered plasma.

  • @jazzbassists77 actually, because of the magnetron in the microwave (electromagnetic radiation...), it's electricity arcing between conductive carbon particles (causing combustion). it's quite similar to the arcing between fork tines... but since carbon is combustible... superheated means a liquid is heated to a temp > it's boiling point, without boiling...

  • i c u

  • i can see you

  • I can see you too.....

  • Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick

  • is it real i mean photo shop and it was just a strieck

  • Ok, for one, learn to spell, and second, Photoshop is for PICTURES... Not video. I guess you could edit frame by frame, but thats a stretch, at 33 FPS.

That was one of the stupidest comments iv ever seen on youtube, PERIOD.

  • someone should make a VIDEOshop!

  • wow so beautiful

  • not cool so bad idiot better y learn in school!

  • should of removed the metal container on the candle, its metal

  • nooo?? a metal container is out of metal?? wtf

  • Japperon, dosent seem like your learning much grammer in your english class, does it?

  • Grammar*

  • lol you pwnd that guy :D

  • im gonna do that tonight!!

  • Watch the QFE Ball-Lightning generators of Dr.Kiril Chukanov

  • plasma is cool

  • there is no plasma hes shorting out the magnetron ( thing that makes microwaves) and the "plasma" is just an electrical high voltage arc created of the microwave transformer with very high current 2000V 25AMP if door window breaks your dead the arc can reach up to 30 cm he is just risking hes life.

  • To predator: an electrical arc is plasma:)

  • that's dangerous!

  • your face is dangerous!

  • yes i think so too!

  • thats not a plasmaball it just a fireball, if it were a plasmaball it'd shoot right through your microwave. very cool though

  • no its plasma excited by the microwaves not a "fireball"

  • so how can this be usefull at all?

  • uhhh by entertainment duh

  • lol

  • Putting metalic items in the microwaves can damage the microwaves internal parts. Please becareful.

  • only if a spark jumps to the walls. mythbusters put spoons, forks and other metal objests in a microwave and it didn't do anything to the microwave itself.

  • what the hell is your problem.

  • i can see ur reflection in the face

  • LOL! You said it the wrong way

  • LMAO

  • hahahaha lmao that was a good laugh.

  • lol, i love! wat is plasma by the way?

  • idk like the plasma grenades in halo

  • lol not really

  • itd be cool. and i posted that comment 3 months ago woah

  • plasma is one of the six states/phases of matter, in which electrons become free from the atomic bonds of the nucleus.

the 6 states of matter are, einstein bose condensate, solid, liquid, gas, *plasma*, quark gluon plasma.

  • i did say it the wrong way

    LOL

    1 year later i get a laugh

  • this is very bad for impressionable kids... if they watch this, 90% of them will try it out. But we're lucky kids that age don't know how to use a computer.

  • put a clump of hair in the microwave, stand back.

  • I can see your face in the refection he-he-he-he.

  • Dude, that is wicked. Did it give you cancer?

  • That is freakin beautiful. In a way it looks like the aurora borealis. Like a mystical lightwave of energy.

  • i jus had an orgy

  • cool

  • This is what you do: You light the end of a match and put it in the microwave. Have something to keep it standing up. Heat the microwave for about 30 seconds and enjoy. It will be somewhat lound and scary-sounding, but don't run off screaming.

  • i see you

  • lol thats awesome! i want to try that now XD..its also fun to put a cd in the microwave Muahahaha!

  • i usually do this with either a grape or a frozen hi c box thing

i also had an old microwave that was messed up and would do that no matter what you put in it

  • that thing makes the coolest sound

  • Love the sound it makes

  • That's really cool.

  • So in theory the got gas coming from the fire got stripped of its electrons by the microwaves and became a plasma. My thinking is that since microwaves are a rather 'weak' or 'cold' form of light, it couldn't have stripped more than one or two electrons from each molecule. I guess it would depend on the ionization energy CO2, H2O etc...What if we did this experiment in UV?

  • That would be awesome...:D

  • Repeat this experiment again only next time substitute the match for a butane canister.

  • Good ur microwave didnt catch on fire or explode. lol

  • hahahaha you do know that screws your microwave up right?

  • no, it doesn't, a microwave's purpose is to excite water molecules in your food to heat it up, there is no "feedback" that will hurt your microwave as a result of energizing gaseous water into a plasma... what will fuck up your microwave is letting the superheated plasma scorch the top of the microwave. Putting a glass over the match keeps this from happening and gives this spectacular light bulb effect, but otherwise, its fine to nuke grapes in the microwave.

  • what the hek its a match? i think and i have 1 of those silver things its a candle

  • Wht is going on in there? pls explaind

  • COMBUSTION.. look it up

  • Would have voted 5, voted 4 instead because the filmer was too stupid to turn off the lights

  • or do it during the night so there is no glare from sun

  • curiosity killed NOT the cat!

    W R proud of your tesla_at_home xprmnts!

    __/\__Comitee

  • That thing is gonna give me nightmares.

  • ok is this safe to try at home with your/my average

    microwave oven?

  • this is fake

  • no it's not you pussy ass penis butthole vagina eating pig mushroom falcon

  • You dithering logger-headed wanker.

  • Thats cool, sounds like a movie laser.

  • wTF?

  • not the greatest idea but still entertaining! :D

  • yes, we put our food in that thing. don't use microwaves! the Soviet Union banned them years ago! go to mercola (dot com) or various other sites if you'd like more info

  • awesome

  • I love youtube because I cant watch people doing shit that I wouldnt do myself for fear of losing a digit or something.

  • waste of my time

  • ha ha i wanted to see the microwave window blow out shooting a shard of glass out the back of ya head,

  • You can DOWNLOAD youtube videos using this website: techcrunch "DOT" com/get-youtube-movie/

  • Cool! I don't mean to be *add your fave uptight comparsen here* but ist it legal?

  • yeah, I have downloaded all the cool videos like these and put them on my NDS, Phone, and ZEN media player

  • while it's running, throw it at someone. :D

  • thats nifty

  • yeh i suppose

  • lol wow fentanyl3 you are so clever...

  • Not so much clever as just experienced. I'm an electronics repairman/hobbyist, I used to work for Motorola repairing microwave communications equipment and other radios, It just kinda irritates me to see people spreading fear about something they actually have no reason to fear

  • thats how we do the sound of lasers in starwars xD

  • The power of radiation.

  • pretty cool noise.

  • A microwave is NOTHING but a simple high powered RF transmitter. Unless you are dealing with thousands of kilowatts, or megawatts, The chances of it harming you even if unshielded are small, (most common is the development of cataracts at an older age) arcing will not harm the shielding, unless it happens hundreds of times, and you can see a visible hole in the shielding. The noise you heard was the sound of the arcing

  • LOL thousands of Kilowatts would be Megawatts, doh!

Correction, Hundreds or Kilowatts, or megawatts.

Also, RF energy follows the inverse square law meaning, if one person is standing one foot away, and the other is standing 2 feet away, the 2nd person receives only 1/4 of the energy as the first so you do the math

  • It amazes me how many people know NOTHING about a device they use daily Microwaves, cannot, do not and will not cause cancer it's not a NUCLEAR device it simply a Cavity resonator enclosed in a shielded box. The largest hazard from operating an unshielded or poorly shielded microwave is cataracts, because they do not have sufficient blood flow to cool them. The rest of you body has enough blood flow to cool itself before it can reach a temperature that is damaging.

  • Dude, your smart. Can you make Fentanyl? That shit blows heroin out of the water!!

  • Try putting a light bulb in!

  • Whats goin on? looks like someone lit a tooth pic and mircowaved it... whats the big deal its awesome?

  • watch tidus spinster its way better than this

  • So what is the theory behind this experiment?

  • lol that was awesome. i take it your microwave had a couple of huge burn marks?

  • shame when i saw this i was like i wanna do that!!! good thing i read over the comments 1st :) not even gunna try that now lmao i dont want cancer or something to blow up in my face!!! >.< lmao silly kids :)

  • SO COOL

  • This video is also known as "How to asphyxiate yourself in 5 simple steps." Dumb idea to do this inside your house dude.

  • Thats not all too smart. if your going to do this experement at all (which you really shouldnt) you should cover it with something inside the microwave. (say a glass jar, just raise it a bit so the air can get to the match, then set it outside after your done.) The reaction creates a toxic gas that you are letting into your home.. also it seems to last longer when the glass is over it.

  • What do you mean plasma? That's the stuff in that makes up our blood... minus the red blood cells.

  • lol... yes the stuff in our veins is called plasma but this plasma is the 4th state of matter they never talk about in school. When gas particles, usually in the state of fire, get super excited it changes to Plasma. I like to call plasma liquid fire/energy because thats what it looks like although its properties are far more different than a liquid.

  • saweet

  • what have we learned here, folks??? hmmm how about trying not to kill yourself with a freaking microwave.

  • Holy shit! it was like lightning! Minus the lightning.

  • I just think...

    ths sound is f****d up...

    Isn't it? Oo

    It HAS TO BE!

  • look at my video is is much better!

  • your a fucking retard.

    dragonballz?

    fag.

  • You look like my friend peter.

  • You know I always wondered what would happen if fire, an already hot... energy was put into a microwave which as it says sends microwaves to heat an object.... now I know

  • idiot

  • That sound is the sound of your microwaves electronics straining. Good way to pop a microwave.

  • wawaweewa

  • Keep up the good work.

  • i don't think your microwawe work so well after that O_O

  • I don't think his microwave will work so... hot after that. Haha! Pun

  • It sounds like a lightsaber!

  • hehe nice. how'd ya do it?

  • I cant decide whether you have the balls to do something like that or are just plain stupid =P I was just waiting for it to blow up in your face

  • Better throw out the microwave lol

  • poor microwave!

  • Lol. Forgot the DONT TRY THIS AT HOME message at the beginning.

  • Wow that is really cool, I can't wait to try it- on someone elses microwave.

  • Kids!!! What will they want to do next?

  • Nice job ruining you microwave

  • what if it blew in your face ?

  • buddy, THROW that microwave OUT! your shielding's fried, it's got holes. Your body'll sprout cancer cells. But on behalf of the International Society for Using Unwitting Test Subjects, your five bucks is in the mail. Cool vid.

  • ur dumb

  • Do your parents know what your doing to their microwave?

  • like a roman candle on steroids

  • cool!

  • uhhh...

    nice... Oo
