  • the game boy one still amazes me how much they put into it.... best you could get from that hardware

  • Valeu Cara ( Thanks)

  • @summ22 I meant the SEGA master system

  • @MILLERSI81

that's what i said. street fighter 2 for the sega master system was released 1997 in brazil.

  • @summ22 Did u mention the Xbox live version?

  • @kgp8

    no

  • @kgp8

    no

  • @kgp8

    no

  • @kgp8

    no

  • @kgp8

    ,

    no

  • @summ22 Why isn't the Xbox live version in your video?

  • @kgp8

no next-gen platforms, its too many

  • Are you getting your years mixed up SEGA master was done in the 80s not 97

  • @MILLERSI81

the master system street fighter was released 1997, its a fact, just google it. it was released in brazil, where the master system was popular for a much longer time than elsewhere.

  • SNES Version were the best

  • Genesis sounds way better

  • SNES FTW

  • Where's the CPS versions

  • OH MY GOD THE MASTER SYSTEM VERSION LOOKS HORRIBLE!!!!

  • funny how SNES owned all other platforms even when it got old. Thanks for taking the time to put this up. However you did it :P

  • @vipe1987 No it really wasn't the six button Megadrive controller is much better than the snes for fighting games, not to mention the snes lags a fair bit on real hardware, but you cant really tell that by emulation.

This doesn't matter though because the 3DO version is better than both.

  • I used to have a speccy and a megadrive. Games just seemed to be that more enjoyable back then. I have a 360 now and don't play on it half as much. I dunno maybe it's my age.

  • 3DO by far the best

  • 3DO version !!!!!!!!!! =D

    :)))

  • 3DO is so ethereal

  • @AzumiRM And @summ22 yay 2 people like me! go SNES!!!

  • Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo DOS CD Version has a GREAT soundtrack. 3DO version was great, but nobody could afford the system. I had the SNES versions (SF2-Turbo-SSF2) and played the Genesis versions at a friend's house as a kid. The sound on the Genesis port hurts my ears.

  • I think street fighter should of stayed off anything before 8-Bit consoles maybe with the exception of Sega Master System. I really think 3DO Version Was the best and for comparison for Snes and Genesis No contest its SNES The Sounds are way better.

  • snes version slaughters genesis one

  • the master system version is suprising good!!

  • the megadrive version has a better intro, and the snes version as better music, and graphics (although smaller screen

    )

  • There were some more Amiga versions: "Super Street Fighter II" ECS and AGA (by U.S. Gold) and "Super Street Fighter II Turbo" AGA and CD32 (by Gametek).

  • SMS version sounds better than the Genesis version XD

  • the DOS version at 8:42 is AMAZING because of the HUGE sprites. the characters are even larger than the arcade version!

  • 08:00 super street fighter dos, the midi soundtrack sounds nice...

  • Epic Music

    Player Select

but i preffer the SNES version

    Kick Asses!

  • where is the Game Boy Advance version, and NES version???

  • @dougdfa

Only official releases from the classic era

  • ok, I agree. But the GBA was a official version, and is one the best versions ever released. I play it on my DS Lite until today. Is impressive that Capcom may have released several versions like Commodore 64 or even DOS. They are bad hahaha

  • @dougdfa

i never played it, but i believe you when you say it's good :)

in these videos, i wanted to compare the classic sf2 games of the 90's era. so i do not consider the GBA version a classic era version, GBA is a next-gen console. i excluded all revival and next gen editions, because there are just too many (for playstation, xbox and so on) and too similar to each other.

  • @dougdfa NES version???

  • @Chalkaspis yep, there was a pirate version for NES. It was terrible hehehe

  • No black guys get punched on the genesis

  • I'd say that you're missing the CD32 version of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, but in reality, you're not missing much lol

  • Best one is Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo PC DOS 1996 at 7:24

  • @GamerCheckTV Yup! I bought the big box version which came with the 6-button gamepad. Not the gamepad that looked all funky, but rather some normal looking grey gamepad with 6 buttons laid out in a sega genesis style. I played the hell out of SSF2T and Megaman X on my PC with that pad.

  • I remember I shed an awful amount of money in 1992 for a SNES + Street Fighter II cartridge (japanese, which was even more expensive) + Capcom official joystick. The joystick lasted for a very short time, but I played that cartridge madly for a long time. Then, got the Champion Edition for PC-Engine which was even better (and could play it everywhere thanks to my PC-Engine GT). But eventually, I sold the SNES and got a Neo Geo.

  • It was a crap system after a very short while, but i had a 3D0...i was soo happy at the time...then i got my Saturn and Virtual On came along... ;)

  • ryu is 47?? wow he has alot of spunk he better become the ultimet warrior soon or he will break a hip everytime he douse a hidoken

  • Wow, Super 2 has the most legible Ryu.

  • It looks good on the SNES, OK on the Sega Genesis, and Godly on the 3DO.

  • The second dos version in this compilation blew it not only with the music but with the charachter itself aswell. ryu in zangiefs stage with his music? really. even the master system version (which sound abit wimpy) got it right.

  • Maybe should have included the arcade version for comparison. (MAME emulator)

  • Pickup the Street Fighter anniversary collection if you want, it has both SF3 and this version of the SF2 on there for the PS2. Not hard to find, it also has the edited version of the Street Fighter movie on there. Definitely worth the effort for a fan. Also check Street Fight Alpha 3 for a good street fighter game.

  • You are missing the best version: Street Neo Fighter II, for MSX :-D

  • the music from the pc dos is scary...

  • Genesis sound is terrible!

  • @AzumiRM

    yes, it sucks ass

  • @summ22 the 2612 is mint!

  • @summ22 Funny, I just came from a video where unanimously, the Genesis version was voted best for the music :) Personally, I think they're all shit now, only the memories were any good.

  • @summ22 Here i'm can download for Super Nintendo version to look the comparsion :)

  • nope, the DOS version does

  • @AzumiRM Sound sucks, but a 6 button controller was godly in this game.

  • lol if they ask for Ryu screams "hadouken" under water, would not go so hoarse like the genesis sound hahahaha

  • sega master system rules

  • i dont care if the people say the genesis versions its better by the graphic way

i cant stand to hear tha shitty sounds DX

    nice compilation :3

  • Cammy is ugly as shit !

  • gameboy versions intro sounds awesome

  • The 3DO version was awesome :) the emulator is FreeDO :)

  • The TurboGrafx version is my favorite.

  • About those PC tracks. You were looking for General MIDI or MT-32 option, forget about the CD track, what was presented was the ad lib version which is possibly acceptable because it was standard for the time, although was also the primitive midi version.

  • that was painful to watch

  • Amiga 500+ Games

  • Did you see that? The Sega Master System blew the 3DO away!

  • @jadedrakerider Well, if you're talking in terms of number of consoles sold, then yes it did. ;-)

This is a cool video, but it doesn't represent the 3DO port accurately. It makes it seem like the game is buggy and has audio sync issues, but those are probably issues with the emulator. It was a very solid port. How do I know this? Because I fucking own a 3DO and SSF2T. Check my channel to download Guile's theme from this game.

  • Is it me or is the PC DOS SSFT the best port of them all?

  • 1993 Sega Genesis version is far way better than 1994 SUPER Street Fighter II

  • I like the Genesis versions over the SNES verisons. The Genesis versions just run with a lot less slowdown even though the graphics and sound aren't quite as good.

  • nice, but shame labelling isn't more consistent. plus, missing arcade perfect Sega Saturn versions. rated positive.

  • daigo should play these in tournament style with the best to see who rocked the best suck ass street fighter clone :)

  • I have to say I am very surprised they never made a NES port.

  • @SamusDrake There is a pirated port.

  • @Jutrzen

Looks like there is two different ports! Hmmm...

  • SF2 on Sega Master System = LOL Brazilians.

Also the PC-DOS version of ST has an awesome Balrog theme

  • Can you tell me the name of the emulators?

  • @electricspy

sorry, i don't remember most of them... i was stupid and deleted all my files i used for this project

at least the 3DO emulator should be easy to find, as it's the only existing 3DO emulator if i remeber correctly :)

    game boy - bgb

    snes - zsnes

    genesis - gens(not quite sure)

maybe someone can help with the others

  • can you tell me the name of the emulators? thank you

  • 3DO is the best.

  • wow, what happened to the Mega Drive? the music from the normal SF sounded very good, but in the SSFII version sounds very empty D:

  • @squirralicious Probably a different developer. Rumor is that Capcom outsourced pretty much all of their Genesis games.

  • @geckoyamori huh, well that kinda sucks D:

  • @squirralicious

It's known (I think) that the late-gen Punisher port was outsourced, and the earliest ones like Strider and Ghouls n Ghosts were in fact done by Sega themselves. With devs like Konami, all of their Sega games have some universal quirks that identify them as Konami games. Capcom's titles on the other hand are all over the place which suggests other people had done the ports for them. It seems they didn't care at all for the system internally.

  • @jowrab

SFII took place sometime in the 80's so it was good back then ;)

They probably have stopped aging now, just like all the King of Fighters characters.

  • why did they change it to a white guy getting hit in the beginning instead of a black guy? and the guy doing the punching now looks a lot like cody from final fight.

  • why did they change it to a white guy getting hit in the beginning instead of a black guy?

  • d.o.b 1964 ryu's getting old, lol

  • the street fighter II in plataform master system thas not licensec for nintendo is game created in brasil

  • It's kind of funny how the music on the SNES version went from shitty in the Turbo version to awesome in the Super version, while the Genesis music was almost arcade perfect in the Special Champion Edition, then went to ear-gratingly awful in the Genesis Super version.

  • You missed the version with the best QUALITY music. The Windows CD-ROM version. None of the others even used CD-ROM (except 3DO and you could have fooled me there) let alone use it to its potential.

  • You left out the Sharp x68000 and FM Towns ports.

  • 7:38 Did you see that!!! i think she loves me

  • To me the best versions goes to genesis and snes, with the snes edging it by sound and slighter better graphics. The genesis versions, however played faster. Capcom collections has direct arcade ports, so there's no comparison, maybe that's why it wasn't in the video.

  • Mega Drive foreveeeeer!!!!

  • Genesis version changed the guy being punched into a white dude. ...That's kind of racist.

  • Comment removed

  • very good videos contrasting these machines

  • you are comparing diferent games, Street Fighter and Super Street Fighter are diferent games. You sould use only street fighter version on all consoles to do some logic to all this.

  • 6:20 Super Street Fighter II Turbo is the Best version for PC !

  • @LeGlod pcs got some muscles at that time, looks as the best out of the bunch, also seems smooth.

  • I bought that, but it wouldn't run on my Windows 95 486 PC.

  • no "round 1 fight" on SNES SSF2? I didn't remember it being that cut down

  • The master system version is nearly as funny as the spectrum version, they could not even be bothered to have the music playing in time, it sounds like someone is trying to learn it on a crappy old synth, im sure they can't have sold many copies of it.

  • I could say that every port of SF2 games suck in something. SNES, for example, had a small screen area, altered music and endings and missing frames, but good gameplay.

Genesis had bigger screen and more frames than SNES, right pitched voices and music closest to the CPS1 original, but shitty sound quality. Again, it plays awesome.

SNES of Super have better music than genesis, but keeps its smaller screen. Genesis music and sound sucks balls.

That's to put an example. All lacks a lot of stuff

  • the master system was released in 1997? damn...... Sega was on the Saturn by then.

it's like 5 years too late.

  • @kevenzz

    Not in Brazil ;)

  • Ohh hmmm its looks even better for DOS +)))))))))))

  • MEGA-DRIVE 4ever, kicks ass +) Fuck Znes +) to bad Nintendo bought Sega, so not there is no SEGA vs NINTENDO anymore=(

    Sega 4ever =)

  • @JohanOlsson Nintendo bought Sega? LOL. Yeah, so that's why we have a Nintega now instead of a separate Nintendo and Sega.

  • 3DO version rocks!

  • @mruppel2 I agree. one time when I get this version I thought it was best SF2 version and now I think it's just one of the best 3DO games.

  • @mruppel2 mine on my goldstar would rock more if i could read the (j) option screen.

  • Was that the demo of SSF2T for the PC? I remember different music, and most of the characters weren't greyed out.

  • @Slimyscaly48

    yes, it's the demo version!

  • @summ22 My PC demo on CD still had the CD track of Zangief, why does yours have midi?

  • Like I said, the only versions that were worth a shit were the SNES, Genesis, and PCE. Not counting Super Street Figter II.

  • I am most impressed with the master system it had better voices then the genesis and it looked almost 16 bit

  • pc dos completely failed on SSF2 music. Character selection screen music is depressing.

  • @TFiPW Wrong, the real music was on CD, for some reason this video is playing the crappy midi. It had the best remix of Street Fighter music ever, probably better then the 3DO music.

  • @TFiPW Unless you mean the NON Turbo version which did suck, sorry my bad.

  • I'm just gonna say that the SNES was the consitented winer

  • Now do one for Street Fighter 1.

  • The arcade version was not bad but it was nowhere near as good as the Commodore 64 version for graphics, sound and gameplay.

  • @Carbon657 that just made me laugh lol, nice comment, one of the first computers i ever had was a commodore 64 and the game loading time was a nightmare!

  • @kiely456 Its just a shame that the arcade machine hardware of 1991 couldnt beat the power of C64.

  • @Carbon657 Just klidding of course

  • @kiely456 LOL

  • You also forgot SF2CE and SSF2 for the Sharp X68000.

  • this time PC DOS version is the winner

  • You missed a few: 1997 - PS1 / Saturn - SSF2 / SSF2T (SF Collection) 1998 - PS1 / Saturn - SF2 / SF2CE / SF2HF (SF Collection 2 / Capcom Generation Vol 5) 2000 - DC - SSF2X For Matching Service 2001 - GBA - SSF2T Revival 2004 - PS2 / Xbox - HSF2 (SF Anniversary Collection) 2005 - PS2 / Xbox - SF2 / SF2CE / SF2HF (Capcom Classics Collection) 2006 - PS2 / Xbox - SSF2T (Capcom Classics Collection 2) 2006 - PSP - SF2 / SF2CE / SF2HF (CCC Reloaded) 2006 - 360 - SF2HF 2008 - PS3 / 360 - SSF2T HDR
  • @ArmaliteFan

thanks for your input! i purposedly left out all those collection / revival editions on next gen platforms (from PS1 upwards) because i don't consider them classic sf2 versions anymore

  • Comment removed

  • Aww man i love grapich of the ZX spectrum and the master system. Also how is the master system version released as late as 1997?

  • man i wish i had a 3do

  • meh, gotta have the cd soundtrack playing with the dos port of super turbo. the midi pales in comparison

  • @dschultz6072 I was going to say the same thing. The DOS CD audio soundtrack is the best soundtrack of all the different version... even blowing away the 3DO's tracks.

  • @beigemore and dschultz6072

sorry about that, i didn't know about the CD soundtrack as i couldn't find the DOS CD version anywhere.

  • 6:24 to 6:41 was beautiful. I've always remembered it.

  • lol, 1997 and it had the lamest sound.

  • @635574 thats a sega master system with 8 bit.

  • Excellent job, summ22. Congratulations!

  • Obviously, the best version is on 3DO. Specially for the cd-quality of remixed musics. PC-ENGINE have a good version too. But SNES was the first in appear this great game. In addition, SNES have more versions of SF2. All of them very goods in all the aspects.

  • i love sounds of mega drive and game boy

  • i love the 1995 dos version of super street fighter 2 turbo espically for the music
